Joomla Video Voting System

May 14th, 2011 Comments off

I am using joomla with a video component called hwdvideoshare, that has a 5 star rating system that calculates the video ranking with the rating and number of votes. It adds two fields to the database (rating and votes). I would like to change this to an up/down voting system that when clicked up adds one vote to the field and clicked down minuses one vote from the same field. All the other paramaters should remain the same such as ip adress, and re-voting. The code is php and in an ajaxsuite.php file.

Two-option Ajax Voting System

The budget is $15, so please don’t overbid. No exceptions.

Users will be able to vote on the posts. The two options for the vote are “+” and “-”. I want this to be done using Ajax or something that will allow them to click the positive/negative voting icon and display the results and messages without refreshing. By messages, I mean, if the user has already voted on the post, or there was some other problem with the vote, I want the error message to be displayed next to the voting icon without the user being redirected to another page, then having the error message appear. It should be on the same page with no refresh.

By results, I mean, when the user first visits the page, he can see that there were X positive votes and X negative votes for that post. After the user votes, the results should be automatically updated without the page refreshing.

This will be integrated into a simple, existing script. You cannot see the script, the page, my server, etc. The right person should be able to build this snippet around a basic select statement/query, because that is all that my current script does-it displays all posts on a page. If you bid Immediate delivery, I will expect the script to be delivered within 30 minutes. Place the phrase not a bot in the PMB if you leave a message there. No portfolios, links to unrelated work, resumes, or statements in the PMB that you can do it. Escrow provided if requested in your bid. This needs to be coded for a PHP site and needs to work on a shared server, where the user will more than likely not be able to access the php.ini file or will have to reinstall PHP to get your script to work.

Demos and low bids have priority. I would like to select someone right now.

Thanks. Good luck!
