Programmer Needed

July 28th, 2011 Comments off

Hello,
I am working on a website will have it all designed and wireframed. I need a programmer to pull it all together.
The site is a non profit fundraising site. It will allow people to volunteer and register, creating their own page within the site.
On the volunteer’s page, they will need to be able to upload
photos of themselves. They will need a log in/out, forgot password process.
They need to be able to create an email (upload contacts from
address book or input manually) to send to their friends. In this
email there will be a link that takes people back to their page
within the site.
On the main page, there needs to be a search function to find a
volunteer by name
Next to their photo on their homepage, will be a grid of pictures
that people can click on and be able to donate from.
Below each picture, there needs to be a way to tally all the donations each picture has received.
There needs to be a message board on each volunteer’s homepage
where people can leave messages.
I would like social networking links, tabs on the main screen with
FAQ, About us, ETC.
On the main page, I would like a leader board showing the highest
grossing volunteers on the site, with ability to donate to them from
the main page. The payment processing will be handled on another site. So when you click to donate, it will link elsewhere.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I can provide any information you need.

Volunteer Application

July 10th, 2011 Comments off

I need a programmer to develop an application that does the following:
For Nonprofits:
1) Allows users to enter the name of a Volunteer Activity
2) Allows the user to enter dates that that activity is available
3) Create time slots for that activity.
4) Create a profile page showing information about the non-profit organization (history, staff, contact information, a google map, etc)
5) Manage volunteers, including adding questions to screen volunteers on the activity sign up page.

For Volunteers
1) Create an account that lists all of the volunteer events that you registered for.
2) Allows you to filter to find specific volunteer events.
3) Be able to select an activity and sign up for one of those activities.
4) Be able to manually add volunteer activity.
5) Track the total amount of time volunteered. Have a top-10 list showing who volunteered the most.

For Admin:
1) Manage users, edit events and profiles.

Here is a similar application: http://www.volgistics.com/WhatItDoes.htm

Should be done in PHP with a MySQL database.

The English versions of the messaging are available at http://www.lenslady.org and http://www.lenslady.co.uk while the Arabic version is at http://www.lenslady.org/ar/

Additional opportunity exists for qualified media personnel who successfully complete the media translation for their native tongue.

Lens Lady Organization is seeking a volunteer to help with its mission of eyeglass recycling.

We need to deliver mailing envelopes to people around the world to ease the pain of the donation process.

Printer-friendly mailing labels for North American and EU countries. Custom envelopes for US mailing are to be included. The labels should be delivered in .doc form, while the envelopes should be editable in .ai and .pdf format. Please note the current envelope (not mailed to the submitters) at the Lens Lady website at http://www.lenslady.org/

Web Development In Joomla

September 2nd, 2009 Comments off

I will say this right now, if you are committed more than 50% already for the next few days, I recommend you to turn back now.

Scenario:
Our organization needs to develop a website for allowing volunteer workers and volunteer employers to interact. Both volunteers and volunteer employers can register but have different registration requirements i.e. different registration forms. Each registration is approved by both moderators/administrators and users themselves.

Volunteer Employers can post, or delete volunteer opportunities and have publicly accessible profiles. All volunteer employer profiles are listed in a table that is publicly accessible.

All volunteer jobs that have been posted are only accessible to registered users.

Volunteers can RSVP these volunteer jobs, but have private profiles that are only accessible to the individual themselves. Once a volunteer RSVP’s a volunteer opportunity, we want the Volunteer profile information (contact information) to be sent to the respected Volunteer Employer. Each volunteer has a volunteer hour tracker in their profile showing total number of volunteer hours they’ve done using the system. Default value is 0, and we can add to the hours through volunteer jobs they’ve completed. In their profile, we will also have a list of volunteer jobs they’ve been involved with as well as how many hours they’ve completed. All hours will tally up to total the number as the volunteer hour tracker.

Requirements:
This is an urgent web development project using Joomla with limited deadline. There are no extensions. You will need to be on-hands and available by MSN or other available chat systems for the majority of the day during Eastern Time Zone i.e. Toronto/New York Time Zone. You will be *assisting* myself in developing a Joomla website in a fast-paced environment. To give you a better idea of project details, please read Scenario.

You must be an expert in Joomla and their extensions including installing community builder, plugins, modules, other extensions as well as working around the limitations of those patches. Since Joomla is coded in PHP, you should also be well experienced in PHP.

Benefits:
As web developers and/or programmers, you should already be aware of the benefits for taking up this job. Money, sharpening your skills, as well as experience in stressful situations is a given and should be valuable. I am also willing to write a reference letter should your services be exceptional in nature. In such cases, an extra tip may also be provided.

Please note that this is my first time using Joomla and that I will also be working alongside you in this fast-paced project. I will say just for the sake: Project must be completed in order to receive payment. Good luck!

Flash Volunteer

July 25th, 2009 Comments off

Flash Volunteer is a Seattle-based nonprofit that seeks to build community and increase volunteerism through the use of a web-based, social network platform.

We are currently in our beta phase and would like to add a few more enthusiastic developers to our team in order to prepare for our public launch at Bumbershoot over Labor Day weekend.

Ideally, we are looking for developers with the following (general) skill set:

- knows Python
- familiar with Google app engine
- has worked on REST-ful websites
- familiar with Selenium testing

To see the site in action, please go to www.flashvolunteer.org and take it for a spin! Also, take a look at the attached screenshot for additional information on what we are trying to create.
