I need some smart script that can run under linux that can:

* Test/verify that x is working.
* If it is not working it should “killall X” and then restart x “xwin”.

An idea i had was to popup some window (really small) top left corner 1px widht 1px height. Then check if window did popup sucessfully. If not then X has crashed.

I have a touchscreen driver that is acting strange and randomly crashes X. Sometimes X can run smoothly for days – and then sometimes it can crash within hours.

THe touchscreen is a model “zytronic”.

I have a simple problem. I need a php/mysql page done.

What we are working on: A file called send_messages.php that checks “prights” for that user and checks to see if they have rights to send messages. If they do it checks to see how many messages they have sent per month / per day. Problem is that my default member rights are not added to a table called “prights”. I need a workaround.

Here is my problem. I have a table called “prights” that has all the user rights. I had a programmer do a script that looks in the table for a specific rights. Problem happened that default rights are not added to the prights table, only if I modify the rights. So when my script looks at prights, the user does not have the right that they need (even though it is default).

My thinking is adding it to my send_message.php file since that is where the script looks at those values. You can either change the script to do a default value of 4 (messages per day and messages per month). But if i change the value to 10 for that user, it would have to see 10 messages max. Problem with doing a default of 4, people that are not registered should not be allowed to send a message.

If you choose we could do a cron file that changes the table. How we do it is up to you, the programmer. All I know is I need it done. Not a hard project, but I tried explaining everything here.

I need following small fixes and changes on my site but this needs to be done by an experienced programmer who doesnt mess up anything on my site:

1) Changing width of left and right boxes in the “My Account page”: the boxes with different features are too wide, I need this to be changed. The boxes on the right can be at least 150 px narrower.

2) There is some issues with profile pictures: Uploading a profile picture while joining is no problem but when a member wants to change the profile pic afterwards he/she can successfully upload another profile pic but this pic is nowhere to be found. Members have tried everything to locate their new picture but it just disappears somewhere.

3) This leads to another issue: “Gallery” feature: members can create their own albums and upload images into that album but when clicking on “Gallery” under profile pic it only displays the profile pic instead of the images in the album. Currently the only way to view the album is to scroll down to “My Albums” on a members profile page.

4) Banners: I need my banners (animated and static) to be uploaded to my “Promote our Site” page and I need html code under each banner so members can use that code on any website

5)Notifications: Notifications is currently not working for some reason. I want a notification email sent out to a member every time someone else adds a comment to their profile, makes a friend request, adds a comment to their blog post or pictures in album, adds them to a group, adds a comment to an event, subscribes to a members blogs, sends a message on the site to another member or adds a journal post.

6) Email Verifcation after Sign up doesnt seem to work. Even though it says that new members must verify their email before being able to sign in, it doesnt work. They can still sign in after joining without verification and therefore can add fake email addresses.

7) This leads to another thing: I want a member to verify their email address if they CHANGE it after logging in. A small sentence must be added that states they must verify the email address if they change it.

Home Page: center area is for Site news which I can add through admin. However, it wont display any images or font changes I add through admin. I see it in admin but not on home page. I want to be able to fully utilize the WYSIWYG editor and it must be visible on home page.

9) When viewing a members blog 2nd navbar is missing(?) and bottom right corner must say “Powered by my site” instead of the software.

10) When clicking on “Answers” from 2nd Navbar “Latest Questions” should be displayed instead my promo text. I also want all questions bigger font size.

11) Link Fix: In the “Communications” Menue there is a link that says “Message Board” this link must be renamed to “Forums” and must redirect to the phpbb forum instead of the softwares default forum.

I am looking for some to do 2 simple jobs:
1) First one involves making 3 account per website provided by myself and put in links as directed by myself. I want back links from approximately 240 websites (240 websites x 3 account per website). For this, I will give you some documents which will tell you how to register with every single website (some of them will work while other sites may not work but you will have enough options to have 240 websites). Firstly, you will need to create 3 accounts (with 3 different email addresses) with each website as will be directed in the document.
Secondly, for each website after the accounts have been created you have to place in links (the document will tell you how to do this). Approximately 7-15 links per account per site would be required if possible (some sites allow less).This link placement is not difficult as for more than 95% sites all you need to do is copy past the html code (which will be provided by me). To give you an idea I can easily do 15-20 sites every hour i.e. create an account, verify it (not all will require verification), log in and then put in the links in the form of html or sometimes using the WYSIWYG (depending on the site).
Thirdly, after you are done you will need to provide me with the link of the pages where the links are placed (the document lets you know how you can do this as well). Unfortunately that is the only way I can verify that you have done your job. This is a very straightforward job and should take you more than 2-3 days.
2) Second job is also very simple. Basically for this I will give you a website where you have to paste articles. Firstly, for the articles I will tell you exactly where to get them- They will be in foreign language. Secondly, you will need to use Google translate and copy paste that article in foreign language. Next, you will have to translate that article in English- you will notice that the article does not come out perfect with a lot of grammatical errors, this is OK. Thirdly, You will need to paste this article on a form on a website where you also have to place links and keywords (provided by myself) – this is very simple (you do not have to make accounts etc, it’s just a form). Once done you will select directories provided on the form where you want the article to be posted- again simple. Next you take a screen picture (for my reference) on the computer and hit submit. To give you an idea I can do this whole process and submit 30-40 articles every hour easily. I would need you to submit approximately 800 articles like this. This should be doable in 20-25 hours. Again you do not write articles. I will give you step by step instruction on how to do this.

I have 3 million email addresses to be verified on the SMTP level, so script/program must actually connect to smtp and check if user exists without actually send the email.

Brief:

A very simple feeling site which allows you to post Bills you have (ie Electricity Bill, Gas Bill, Car Repayments, etc.), the amount of the bill in $, When it is due and the payment details (ie Biller Code &amp; Account Number) which is only provided to someone once they choose to pay $X of your bill.

It is not to make money however just for people to help eachother out with bills. When you post a bill it will also show your account profile, which shows:

1.) About Me (Username).

1.a). My Rating

2.) How I will pay it forward if you help me out? (IE. If you pay $x of my bill, I will in 2 weeks time pay $x of your bills you post).

3.) All my bills have posted.

4.) All the verified bills I have paid.

To do this it needs a very simple user management script (suggesting Drupal / Joomla) and a nice looking web 2.0 style layout.

I don’t care how you do it, or if you use the included graphics. The form needs to have the same basic layout.. just look better.

Everything under the ‘office use only’ needs to be READ ONLY. the user should not be able to change this information.

Field verification needs to be added to aprox 30-35 fields. (not every field) just the important ones. User should not be able to submit the form unless these fields are complete. It looks like its there.. just not working. I don’t know why… maybe YOU can figure it out.

Also need 5 additional fields added to the bottom.
