Simple Bible Database Required For WordPress Website

October 19th, 2011 Comments off

My purpose in having a website created is to be able to study different Bible Translations that have already been created and are freely available online, and have a page that will act as a virtual library. I have begun a Bible Translation list that I hope to continue to expand over time.

I need from you a web page created with a database within it to hold the list I have attached of Bible Translations, with the view of me being able to add many more Translations to this database/page (potentially thousands). At the top of the web page I need an organised group of tabs/buttons as follows: a Complete Old Testament tab/button, a Complete New Testament tab/button, a Complete Bible tab/button, and one for every book of the Bible. This is illustrated at the top of the attached diagram (which is a basic diagram of how I want the page to look like).
Each translation in my attached list includes (its title, any other titles the translation is known as, the author/s, a link to where to find it on the web, and a code at the end). I have added codes at the end to be able to filter the Translations within the database. Each code is to be connected with its corresponding tab/button at the top of the page. The reason being is that when a tab/button is clicked it filters out (hides) any of the translations that do not contain that corresponding code in the database. I need the code on the end of each Translation to be hidden when viewed on the web page.
Instead of having the full title of each book of the Bible appearing on each tab/button, I have created shorthand’s to save space and would like these to be used if it helps its readability on the page. The following are all the shorthand’s I need you to use for the tabs/buttons as well as the codes written into the Translations, where the first bracket (xx) is the shorthand and the second [yy] is the code:
The Complete Old Testament (C-OT) [C-OT], the Complete New Testament (C-NT) [C-NT], and the Complete Bible (CB) [CB], Genesis (Genes) [1G], Exodus (Exodu) [2E], Leviticus (Levit) [3L], Numbers (Numbe) [4N], Deuteronomy (Deute) [5D], Joshua (Joshu) [6J], Judges (Judge) [7J], Ruth (Ruth) [8R], 1 Samuel (1Samu) [9S], 2 Samuel (2Samu) [10S], 1 Kings (1King) [11K], 2 Kings (2King) [12K], 1 Chronicles (1Chro) [13C], 2 Chronicles (2Chro) [14C], Ezra (Ezra) [15E], Nehemiah (Nehem) [16N], Esther (Esthe) [17E], Job (Job) [18J], Psalms (Psalm) [19P], Proverbs (Prove) [20P], Ecclesiastes (Eccle) [21E], Song of Solomon (Song) [22S], Isaiah (Isaia) [23I], Jeremiah (Jerem) [24J], Lamentations (Lamen) [25L], Ezekiel (Ezeki) [26E], Daniel (Danie) [27D], Hosea (Hosea) [28H], Joel (Joel) [29J], Amos (Amos) [30A], Obadiah (Obadi) [31O], Jonah (Jonah) [32J], Micah (Micah) [33M], Nahum (Nahum) [33N], Habakkuk (Habak) [34H], Zephaniah (Zepha) [35Z], Haggai (Hagga) [36H], Zechariah (Zecha) [38Z] and Malachi (Malac) [39M]. The books of the New Testament are Matthew (Matth) [40M], Mark (Mark) [41M], Luke (Luke) [42L], John (John) [43J], Acts (Acts) [44A], Romans (Roman) [45R], 1 Corinthians (1Cori) [46C], 2 Corinthians (2Cori) [47C], Galatians (Galat) [48G], Ephesians (Ephes) [49E], Philippians (Phili) [50P], Colossians (Colos) [51C], 1 Thessalonians (1Thes) 52T, 2 Thessalonians (2Thes) [53T], 1 Timothy (1Timo) [54T], 2 Timothy (2Timo) [55T], Titus (Titus) [56T], Philemon (Phile) [57P], Hebrews (Hebre) [58H], James (James) [59J], 1 Peter (1Pete) [60P], 2 Peter (2Pete) [61P], 1 John (1John) [62J], 2 John (2John) [63J], 3 John (3John) [64J], Jude (Jude) [65J], Revelation (Revel) [66R].

I would also like to be able to sort the list of Translations by their authors, and by their titles by search box and drop down tab.
I would also like this page to be protected from people being able to copy from it and any other security methods utilized to achieve this

Insert Into Sqlite

January 15th, 2010 Comments off

This will probably only take you a few hours – maybe a day at the most!

I want the text file content that I’ve attached insert into sqlite. The text file contains 3 “side by side” Koran (Qur’an) translations.

I’ve attached one old sqlite database that I have, which has a single Koran translation in it, just to show you the type of thing that I’m looking for (use the same database structure).

This new Koran database will have ALL 3 TRANSLATIONS from the text file in it. In other words, each “punchline” field will have all 3 translations.

I’ve started this for you, in case this is unclear. See “side_by_side_koran.db”. I’ve inserted the first two records, and the first category, to help get you started.

Quran Database Project

September 23rd, 2009 Comments off

Assalam o Alaikum (May peace be on you)

I would like to make a project for Quran (The Holy Book). What I would like is:

1. Verse by Verse arabic and its different translations in urdu language (encoding: utf-8)
2. We will upload too many translations, users would be able to select whichever they like most.
3. Audio Recitation from different people against each verse.
4. Searching facility.

The complete project is exactly similar to the website:
http://tanzil.info/quran/

The only difference would be, I would like this project to be built in Joomla and more precisely in JoomSuite Resource (currently Mighty Extensions Resource). Addition of new translations should be easy (without programming).

This is a non-profit website run by me only, so your rock bottom prices would be highly appreciated. Initially, I would like to know if it really possible to build this project in Mighty Extensions Resources?

Website Translations Implement

August 21st, 2009 Comments off

I need an experienced programmer that would be able to embed full translations into a website.

This website will be a flash games website, but please take a look at http://www.flashtrackz.com . If you scroll to the bottom, you will notice that the site has translations for a least 20 languages, but the translations itself are embedded within the site.

The reason I would like to have the translations embedded as well is because I do not want any redirects to Google or any other 3rd party site.

What you may do is use the server to connect to Google’s translation services or other 3rd party sites and translate it through that.

Translations are mainly needed for the “Game Names” and “Game Descriptions”, but there are a lot of other pages as well. This includes “News”, “Members”, etc. The flash games itself do not need to be translated as that would require decompiling.

There are over 5,000 total pages on the website, but 99% of them are flash game pages, which only the descriptions and game titles are mainly needed to be translated. The pages are not individual .php or .html files, so do not worry. They are all connected through a single .php game play page.

It is likely that a least 20 languages are needed and I would just need it to have their own “page” such as “site.com/eng”. The layout embed will be done by the staff of the website.

Also, I am actually not the owner of the site (I will provide upon choosing a programmer). I am the marketer of the site and my boss has asked me to seek out a great programmer with a set budget.

Payment will be paid through PAYPAL only after a satisfied completed project and pre-payment or escrow is not what I can do. Unfortunately this is what my boss wants, so I must follow.

Chosen programmer must also provide contact information such as AIM,YAHOO,GTALK,SKYPE, or MSN. E-mail is great too, but constant communication is needed.

*NOTE* – Server/script files may be messy, but I expect the chosen programmer to be able to complete this without any problems.

*NOTE 2* – If the translations process is too difficult, only about 5 languages are needed then.

Website Language Translations

June 17th, 2009 Comments off

I need a programmer that would be able to implement website translations into my website.

There will be a least 10 languages needed, but can reach up to 20-25 depending on my boss.

All that is needed is the translation files for each language directed towards a URL such as “http://www.site.com/eng”. Translations should be as accurate as possible and cause no breaks in the structure/layout of the page.

Website files will be given to you, but server access could be given if definitely needed.

*NOTE* – No redirection to 3rd party translation websites/programs (ex: Google Translation). Translation must be called through the original URL. You may implement Google Translation into the server if possible.

Payment will be through Paypal ONLY and funds would be released from my boss as soon as all work is satisfied and completed accurately.

I require constant communication with the chosen programmer through instant messaging or e-mail.
