We have a penny auction script from pennyauctionsoft were we are having issues with the timer, ill list below.
1, When there are 2 or more people bidding on an auction the timers start to skip like example from 20 – 18- 15 – 14 – 13 – 12 – 10 – 8 not always in this order but like the example.
2, When the above happens it will also tend to freeze from time to time for about 2 seconds.
You will need to know about penny auctions and have skills in PHP MySQL HTML and CakePHP.
Communication is important and this needs to be done ASAP, the site should be able to handle 5000 plus members at anyone time once you have finished the project so it will need testing with a couple of users online.
This is an easy project for someone that knows what they are doing in this game.

I’ve had a programmer working on this for a couple weeks, and for whatever reason, he seems either unwilling or unable to address this issue. Basically, we have an issue where people are bidding, they seem themselves as the high bidder, then the auction closes and someone else has won. Screenshot example attached. I’ve been told that an apache/mysqpl optimize, and new cache software installed were done to correct this but I have not seen any improvement. I need someone who is *certain* they know the issue because they’ve seen it before, and who knows how to solve it immediately, ie: today.

I currently have a website running(online) using .php and it is an online portal for users to bid. The website also features an auto-bidder function which allows users to place bids in a range and the amount of bids the user is willing to spend. Everytime the auto-bidder kicks in to help the user bid, the timer is automatically extended by a set amount of time. Now the problem is that at some point of time, say two bidder are vying for the same auction to see who will eventually be the winner, the auction will close prematurely all of a sudden even though the auto-bidder has kicked in to bid. The thing is that sometimes even if the auto-bidder has placed a bid, the timer which should increase, does not. I have totally no clue why is it happening this way. I have already changed the server to a high spec one with alot of resources to spare but the problem persist.
