This is the third time I have posted this project and I have hired two others who are trying to complete this now. They are however taking far too long as this is fairly urgent and clearly they have not done this work before. I require somebody who actually knows how to do this off the bat and can do the project in 48-72 hours.
I am looking for a reasonably priced solution to taking data from an excel 7 spreadsheet and updating/ streaming it to the web in real time for a set of our users. It could be shown on a webpage or in another spreadsheet – but it is financial data and therefore must update instantaneously (the prices change approx once per second).
I need to be able to restrict and control access to the data as well. I am not a programmer and therefore would require a turnkey solution for this.
I do not want a process that requires the user to refresh or do anything from within their browser. I also do not want to have to save the excel sheet for updates to be reflected and expect the data to be read/pushed immediately there are any changes in the cell contents.
I will be very careful in whom I select. If you have not done this or something very similar before you will not win this project and preferably would like some examples of work you have done before like this.

- Coming Soon and Recent Releases Display.
This is an area that I certainly need some design help in. I will attach some examples of the styles, and for the coming soon area the example on the sdnnow.com site is ok. But i dont want the text to be on the side I want the text to either be under the image or floating and partially transparent on the image.
The recently released section should be different I was thinking a horizontal slider and a vertical slider. But again this part to make it look “BEST” I kind of leave to you. This does not need to be attached to the CMS portion of the site, but I guess if it can be done easily than that would be a bonus (Pulls from a category, which holds the individual posts that populate the displays) I know I have seen templates on template forest that do this.

I really like the amplify slider and I love the way the sleek slide does the motion. Javanize is an example of a horizontal system. Now the question is how to get this to display and look good with both the Coming Soon And Recent Releases.

A) Main Catalog Page will show a graphical representation of the product and be grouped by social network (Category) . Clicking on a product will take you to a detail page, one thing to note.. a product can exist (and will) on multiple social networks (in multiple categories)

I would like a program/script written in PHP and/or Java (or ANY other language) that will help someone locate instances of copyright infringement on the Internet of documents that the author has written.
This project would be divided into THREE PHASES.
In PHASE ONE of this project, you would develop the core program code. The program would do the following:
1. Search through a specified folder (on a web server’s hard drive) for any Microsoft Word, RTF, PDF, or plain text documents that may exist in that folder (and, optionally, any sub-folders). The software would then take a user-defined number of random samples of contiguous text (i.e., a user-defined number consecutive words) for EACH document in that folder/sub-folder).
a. The user should have the ability to specify the amount of “distance” (measured in words) between the samples that are taken, i.e. the user can specify that the samples are to be taken every 250 words, 500 words, 750 words, etc.
b The user should be able to select the document types that are searched for (Microsoft Word, RTF, PDF, or plain ASCII text documents).
2. The software would then take those samples (strings of text) and query Google.com and/or Docstoc.com (pre-selected by the user) to identify and find any matches (instances of copyright infringement).
3. For any matches are found, the software would then log:
a. the URL of the page on which the match is found
b. the TITLE of the html page on which the match is found
c. the file name of the source document from the user’s local hard drive
d. the date and time of the query in which the match was found on the offending web site
e. whether the match was found on Google.com or Docstoc.com
f. the exact string of text that was discovered on Google.com or Docstoc.com.
4. The log generated in #3 above should then be exportable as a comma delimited text file (CSV file). It should also be displayed on screen. The user will select if he wants to view the report on screen or export to CSV.
*** REQUESTED PMB COMMENTS: I do not really care what programming language you use, although I tend to prefer PHP and Java. If you think another programming language would be better than PHP, please specify in the PMB what language you would use and WHY that would be better than PHP. NOTE: Please state in the PMB how many DAYS it would take you to complete PHASE ONE of this project. ***
In the SECOND PHASE of this project, I would like you to develop a Windows compatible stand-alone application that the user could install/execute on his computer that will do the same thing as 1-4 above, except that the initial queries and sampling of the documents would take place ONLY on the user’s LOCAL hard drive. No text would be relayed back to the web server. The program would still search for the matches on the Internet in the same way and create a CSV report and screen report.
In the THIRD PHASE of the project, I would like for you to add the capability to the web site version so that the program/script can query the user’s local hard drive and retrieve the samples of the documents on the user’s local computer, and then relay them back to the web server for processing and querying on the Internet. The CSV file and screen report would then be accessible from the web server to the user.

I’m volunteering/helping a High School Music Band with annual registration forms (to sign-up before school starts).I created a Joomla site with Community Builder component where I have created all of the web forms, asking the students for their information after logging into the site. There are ~400 students.
I have a multipage Word Document with all of the registration forms to be printed. In the Word pages I have the Form Fields created so the linked data from the web forms can be used to populate each students information for printing the completed forms.
Manually, I have to export the Community Builder “Profile” data to a spreadsheet (CBJuice to .csv file), then open Word and pick which student has completed their information when I need to print (make a PDF) then email them their forms. This is the part I’d like to circumvent with a script to process the student data and then create a PDF output similar to the Word documents.
Then the student can “do it yourself” and I don’t have to perform the “Login > CBJuice output > Import into Excel > Open Form in Word > Pick student > Print PDF, then Email it” routine 400 times.
Basically, I need to create a specialized PDF button within a Joomla site so users can print their own forms.
Also desirable is the added possibility that the output document will be different depending on a selection in the web forms. The documents to be populated will be static but which one is used to create the PDF would be chosen based on a field choice in Community builder. An example: the kids who play horns have no interest in drumstick information, so the forms they get can omit drumstick choices page and include a page about care of their horn.
I’ve told folks they can start filling out their forms online on July 6th but this is not a hard deadline. Registration isn’t until August 3rd, so they don’t NEED their forms printed until then.

Please quote for using this information and any other research you may propose to do, to write me an ebook called an “Introduction to Underground Restaurants” (URs)of 15 to 20 pages (500 to 600 words per page), but tell me if you think it should be shorter.
I will use this to give away as a free ebook in return for my visitors on my website www.undergroundrestaurants.com while I find out from them through that list what they are looking for. All copyright and authorship will be attributed to me.
The ebook which is for diners (not for the restauranteur or chef) should make an interesting and fun read. I would like it to play up the “unregulated” and “secret” and gourmet aspects, but it should also make it clear that the web site owner/ebook writer DOES NOT sanction illegality.
I am not planning to run a supper club myself or an underground restaurant club, but I will provide information and services to those wishing to join a club and go to underground restaurants, and to those that want to set up their own underground restaurant.
It should:
1. Explain the idea of URs. Why they are “underground”. Why they may in the past have contravened hygiene/food safety regulations but say that the diner and “underground restaurateur” should at all times be sure to comply with the local regulations. 2. Give some fun/naughty/gourmet/unusual/trendy/fashionable/cheap examples (use the research for ideas but use your imagination to change/rewrite specific examples in the research files provided to make them “generic” examples and not subject to any copyright concerns.
3. Give general ideas about how to find them in your/the reader’s area. (I think that reading the attached text should help you with this.)
4. Give some guidance about cost and etiquette (eg be patient, sign-up, and wait for a booking etc.)
5. Give some examples from the research of some of the events which have taken place already, and leave them feeling dead keen to participate.
6. If possible add in something viral so that they will want send the free ebook to their friends, and say thanks to them for for joining my list, and that they will be receiving more information from the web site via email on more information and services to diners and UR restaurateurs.
I am not sure how I will develop this web site further and will want to see that my list is growing sufficiently before then moving the project forward.
Let me know with your bid response if you have follow-on ideas for paid products to sell to the list, then please tell me your proposals when bidding. Web site conversion from ASP to ASP.net and mobile/PDA version of the site
We need to have a web-site transformed from classic ASP to ASP.net. The site is a part of a service desk application and used/installed at customer sites. It is therefore required that the code behind is compiled into a binary file and uses CSS to style the site (to allow customization).
The web-site is the front end of the enterprise application used to allow the end-users to see, create and track helpdesk requests as well as upload/download files and search an internal knowledgebase.
The site is quite simple, and currently based on a function DLL residing on the web-server as well as 3rd part component (dll) for tree-view structure (ASP treeview from Obout).
The ASP.net version shall be build using C# and with components from obout.com and chilkatsoft.com. It could eventually also include components from devexpress.com
In addition to transforming from classic ASP to ASP.net the site shall be tuned to perform at its maximum (partly by compiling the code into DLL or similar).
We will provide the backend (database, service etc) necessary to program the web site against. In addition you will of cause also get the originally ASP files to be transformed.
The mobile version of the site shall include a list of open/closed requests, and the possibility to write comments etc. on each request. It shall also be possible to search the knowledgebase and create new requests. (Pretty much the same functions as the full-version of the web-site, only optimized to be viewed on mobile devices with lower resolution
This project is for three web services that can be separate or combined into one depending on what you as the coder recommend. This project is to build a web service on PHP using a MySQL database that has one main purposes — Sales Tax calculations. The coder must provide the complete and fully functional server based web service and administrative back-end. Integration of the API on the client side will be done by the buyer.
Sales Tax Web Service (U.S. only, if you have international solution already, then fine.):
1) Retrieve State, county, municipality (city) and combined sales tax rates for zip code submitted by shopping cart.
a. By state would need to be able to enable or disable the calculation of tax.
b. Each state may have different tax percentages by city, county or state.
i. For example; in Washington state we may need to collect 9.6% tax for all orders shipping into Seattle (based on zip codes or city name?). Whereas in all other parts of Washington we may need to collect the default state sales tax of 9.4%
c. Do you have any sources for getting the tax calculation tables for all U.S. based states and localities. Can a mechanism be built-in to allow importing this data on a quarterly basis? Who provides the data must be determined before a winning bidder is selected.
2) I will do the integration on the client website side. This bid is only to build the web service and the admin back-end for managing it.
3) Results returned should be in JSON format.

This project is to build a web service on PHP using a MySQL database that has one main purposes — Real-time Shipping Rates with tracking. Coder must provide the complete and fully functional server based web service and administrative back-end. Integration of the API on the client side will be done by the buyer.
1) The API must allow the client accessing the web service to pass in which shipping carriers and services they want returned per transaction. Alternatively, if it would be better to do this through the admin interface, then that is acceptable, as long as it is setup for multiple clients to define their own specific carriers and shipping services that they want returned. (i.e. FedEx Ground, UPS Ground, 2nd Day FedEx, Overnight FedEx)
2) The API should return all shipping options defined by client (see #1) with rates calculated by accessing each shippers API in real-time. Retrieve Rates from USPS, UPS and FedEx API accounts.
3) The API must have the ability to receive parameters like;
a) zip code, weight, dimensions and if the delivery address is residential or not.
b) any other parameters I may need to consider?
c) The data (weight, dimensions, etc…) sent to the shipper to get the results should also be sent using an array and then “your” API would then generate the appropriate format for each shipper and make the request using the shippers API.
4) Basic admin interface to enable/disable which shippers are used and which shipping options are retrieved for display. (see #1)
5) The goal with this would be to retrieve the rates data for a shipment in whatever format the shippers support, then return these results via a JSON object for iterating through to display in a drop down selector on the client website. The client website code and integration will be done by the buyer.

Returned content should be in JSON format. The results returned should include key data like “delivery status” and “delivery date and time” depending on the shipping carrier and what they support.
3) Retrieve Tracking data from USPS, UPS and FedEx API.
4) A regular expression needs to also be written that can be fed a tracking number and the expression will determine which shipping carrier the number belongs to. This function would return the shipper name or an error if it cannot be determined.

An administrative interface must be made for both the sales tax and the real-time shipping. This interface can be very simple because it will be ultimately added into an existing framework, so don’t worry about the header and footer. Just make sure you have basic navigation setup for jumping between the different sections and actions. The admin interface for each of the web services must consist of the following;
1) Results list utilize the jQuery jqGrid plug-in.
a) Each row in the grid should include a checkbox (for multiple delete), edit button, delete button.
b) Add record button at the top of the grid.
c) Filter mechanism at the top of each column for quickly narrowing down results.
2) Edit and Add screens should be handled using a modal window. Please use the jQuery UI Modal or nyroModal plug-in for jQuery.
3) Screen for setting up system default or assigning values to admin definable settings. (e.g. email address for notifications – use grid for results page if possible)
4) Ability to limit access to web services by IP address. Ability to black list (deny access to) certain IP addresses.
5) Basic key code authentication (to varify client accessing web service.) Recommendations by coder are appreciated. This is not an area I have experience in.
6) If the sales tax tables must be imported, provide an admin back-end for accomplishing importing of new data.

Im looking to get a basic custom CMS made up, I want it to work similar to wordpress but obviously not as many features as what they have. Here are some of the requirements that are a must.
1: Must be able to add/edit/delete posts/pages/categories from the admin area (wysigyg) editor?

Comparing
This requires that all car data Is stored in a specific format in the car database, with no exception on data being left empty and with data validation. This can be entered by Admin for new cars and by users for new car. New car types can be added by users as well. For instance just how GSM Arena stores information for all cell phones, a list needs to be determined for cars and made into a generic structure enabling the comparing feature to work.
Searching
The web site must have a complete search engine.
SMS Alerting
SMS alerts must be generated for users only on specific areas. The recommendation is that for instance when a user posts a new entry for sale in the used cars section and someone posts a bid for it then an alert is generated.
Polling
This is a feature, self explanatory. Users must be given a unique poll every day and old polls must be archived.
Ranking
This feature is just like GSMArena. Popularity by rate, by interest etc. A separate page for ranking is also there. The cars getting the most hits by generic type are ranked by region, by popularity.
Newsletter
A news letter would be circulated say every month with unique content. This calls for all email addresses and names to be stored on the web site such that it enables Admin to send out a newsletter.
Auctioning (Bidding Forum)
This involved no e commerce, there is no e commerce on this web site. A user can post a car for sale and other users can place their bids with emails being generated to the user who posted the bid. The bid must open and close eventually.
Posting and Viewing Videos
The user must be able to post a video for instance when he or she posts a car for sale. Users interested in purchase should be able to view it. Technically all formats must be acceptable, compression must be considered, viewing should be through standard browsers and no downloading of extra tools must be required.
Account Management
Users must be able to create accounts here providing personal information and become registered members of the web site. Users should be able to add edit and delete details, change passwords, personalize the web site as per their needs.
Statistics
Users must be able to compare and contrast pries and see pricing trends for instance this is the pricing trend for a certain vehicle.
