Most of the book is in adobe format and portions are in Microsoft Word format. The book should be completely converted to Adobe and paragraph justification is needed. There will be a need to reposition and in some cases replace certain photos located throughout the text. Our project is in 2 parts which are linked;
Firstly we need to have an efficient method for converting books written in Microsoft Word or as an Adobe file to an online turning page book available at our website. The book should have a turning page facility, a zoom facility and account will also has to be made for hyperlinks from within the books. The books will contain graphics and text for example the book may have a reference to a website which should be clickable.

This project is to take a book cover for a hardback book, which we have in PDF format (see attached) and to recreate that book cover in a smaller format that can be used for a paperback version of the same book. We Need an Application that will scan Book Seller 1′s Top 500 books list, record the details of each book (name, ISBN, price), then compare them to Book Seller 2′s price. If there is a sufficient margin between the two, the application should list the book.
The application would need to do the following:
1) Scan all the book pages of Book Seller 1′s Top 500 list
2) Compile a Database with the Name, ISBN and Sell Price of each Book (checking for in stock status, and excluding out of stock, pre orders etc)
3) Convert Book Seller 1′s Price to local currency (using the current mid market rate + 3%)
3) Search Book Seller 2 for the corresponding book/ISBN

SUMMARY

Need a program that validates both ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 from user input. Must follow the instruction below, its an assignment for a class and I have a family emergency I have to go out of town for and don’t know how else to get it done. The instructions are as follows:

INSTRUCTIONS

Write a program which asks for an ISBN number, then strips the
last digit (saving it) then re-calculates that last (check) digit from
the rest of the number. If they match, the function will validate the
ISBN number, otherwise the function will sound an alarm. See the bottom of this file for some sample runs.

Specific directions:

Create a function:

bool chk_isbn(string)

which receives a String Object containing user keyboard input. If the
user is in hir right mind and the keyboard is cooperating, the string
SHOULD contain a valid ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
The chk_isbn() function should parse the number, and calculate the
check digit from the first 10 data characters, ignoring dashes, spaces,and all non-digits in the first 9 columns. Once it has calculated the check digit, it should compare its answer with the check digit in the last column of the String Object. If they agree, the function should return true, otherwise it should return false.

Include a main() function which exercises the chk_isbn()
function, accepting command-line or interactive input from
the user. CLEAN UP THE USER INPUT so that what you pass to the
chk_isbn() function is ONLY a string of digits, no hyphens
or any other non-digit characters.

Your program will be tested against valid ISBNs from the real world,
and invalid ones. It should give the proper output in all cases.

See the situation here? We are accepting input from USERS, and about
all we can demand from a USER is that s/he gets the digits right.
They will use any random character for the separator, or none at all,
so we have to write our code to cope. If a user can break our software, or get it to emit the wrong answer, we lose.

So your first task will be to “condition” the input. Lucky for
you, you’re taking this into a string object, and strings have the
string.erase(start,length) method to make it easy to “remove” characters from the string which don’t belong there using something like:

Anyway, wheres what i need. Please Quote the following items seperately, if development costs are too high we might need to hold up on some of them until we have enough funds.

1)We want to add a recruitment/referral option into the component, where users recruit people to join the site. If a user is recruited then registers his “master” should be the guy that recruited him, theres no special advantages for the masters.

So when you view someones profile their should be a field “Recruiter”: (and then the recruiters name) + in the next line the number of recruits he has done.

2)Comparison plugin or extension, where the book can be bought from 5 different places and prices should be able to compare with each other from the different online book stores.

3)Lending out the Book, it should keep track on the book page itself where/then the book has been lend out, when returned, basically a whole history where the book has been.

4)Module for Related Books. Otherwise Books in Same Catagory Module.

5)We will also need a forum and get it intergrated with the library extension.

possibiltity for guests to comment with capatcha
Comments should grab the users avatar with the Username on top of the Avatar and recruiters username below the avatar.

Search Option

Be able to serach by: author, donor, isbn number, title.

PS: The main things are comparison, lending option + history & the recruitment/referral option.

If you plan on using other extensions to intergrate into the booklibrary Component, please let me which ones you have in mind.

This is a fun page that I’d like to add to my website. Something interesting for the visitors to participate in.
The page should be divided into 4 rows.
The First Row on top:
I’d like to have a listing of the top 200 highest rated verses appear on the top of the page.
They should be listed as only Book, Chapter, verse. For example, John 3:16. If the visitor puts his mouse over that verse a box will show up with the verse and that box will disapear when the mouse moves somewhere else.

The Second Row:
This is the section where the visitor can add a verse that they’d like to see rated. It should be 3 form fields. The first field is the book of the Bible. Only the 66 Christian protestant books to be listed. The next two fields should not be available until the visitor finishes selecting the first field (the book field).
The second field is the chapter of that book that they want to select. In the Christian bible, there are various numbers of chapters according to the book that is used. So the first field must be selected first. When the first book-field, and the second chapter-field, are both selected then the third verse-field is available.
Similarly, the verse number depends on which book and chapter the person selects, so some book and chapters may have 50 verses, and some may have 100 verses.

The Third row section of the page is where a person may select a different category of pages. There are various different categories that I want to offer. The first is called, “Favorite Memory Verse”. Another is called, “Favorite Evangelistic Verse”. And yet another is called, “Favorite Promise Verse”.
I want to be able to add more categories in the future in an easy way.

The Fourth Row:
On the bottom of this page are 4 columns of lists.
The first list will show the “Top 5 Verses”.
The second list will show the “Top 5 Most Rated Verses”.
The fourth list will show the “Top 5 Most Recently Rated Verses”.
The third list will show the “Top 5 Most Recently Added Verses”.
Each Category page should show this section on the bottom of the page.

The page will be a standalone page that is separate from the rest of my website so it may have its own website design. I prefer soft blue colors and very symmetrical and organized. I like straight lines, not rounded corners. Simple is preferred, not complicated.
I would also like it to be very secure, for example, in order to add a verse or a category a person must register, but anyone may rate a verse. One rating per IP address.

When adding a category, the visitor must register with captcha a username and password. He then gets an email approval and a link back to the website at the login page. He can then add a category and his name will appear in very small letters next to the category. Look at this website to see a sample:http://www.sodaratings.com/

I don’t mind where things go so much as the design can be worked on after the core work is done. Any questions? please let me know.
