Multiple Choice Answers From Pupils: Php Script

September 6th, 2011 Comments off

Looking for a script to allow school pupils to answer multiple choice questions from a PC and to be monitored live from the teacher’s PC which can also show incoming answers live.

Mechanic.

1) Teacher gives the session a name.

2) Pupils go to a web page on their mobile phone.
- The page says “Connected. Please wait. Click here when told to do ao by your teacher”
- The next page asks for the session name and the pupils name before leading to a page which says “standby for question 1″
- The pupils names are displayed on a separate page accessed by the teacher using the session name so that the teacher can see who has registered.

3) The teacher (verbally) asks the first question and tells the pupils to proceed to the answer screen on their mobile. Pupils tap either “A” “B” “C” or “D” going to a page which says “Thank you. Standby for question 2

Chat System With Whiteboard

May 17th, 2011 Comments off

I am looking for a developer that can create a online chat system that integrates a white board feature.

The user’s interaction will be like that of a teacher and student. The teachers need to be logged in and on standby. Once a student arrives and asks for a service that is one of the services that the teacher provides (math, for instance), one teacher will be automatically paired with a student. If the teacher does not provide a good enough answer, student must be allowed to “reconnect” and get the next teacher in line.

Ben

Draggable Music Notation Jquery

May 3rd, 2011 Comments off

I’d like simple php&jQuery webpage implementing a quiz that will ask the user to arrange the notes on the music staff in a certain way defined by the teacher. This quiz will teach the students about key signatures. The notes will be draggable.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the wonderful html5 API http://www.vexflow.com/ for this purpose somehow linking it to draggable jQuery object. Other suggestions are welcome as well.

The use case will be as follows:
1. Teacher starts with a blank staff and drags the notes onto it creating the starting point for the user.
2. Teacher then does it again creating the correct answer the student is supposed to arrange the notes into.
3. Both staffs are saved to database.
4.The students sees the starting point music and arranges the notes into the answer.
4. Both answers are compared and the score is given.

Simple Database Functions

November 14th, 2009 Comments off

I need someone to create a simple database structure between two tables. The reason is so I can see the code. It seems to be the hardest thing for me to do since I am a very simple programmer.

The database would consist of main category which is linked to the results of the category chosen. and then the results of the category is linked to the information for that specific record ID.

I use dreamweaver to code using the create recordsets in dreamweaver.

Must be written in php, mysql and myphpadmin

A non working html version of what I think is the proper structure is available at http://174.132.190.60/~wwwmusi/test.php

It is pretty much a directory listing.

Long term goal with this script. I’m trying to clone the features available on www.privatelessons.com

The front end can be done fairly easy once I get this project finished. The internal of the script is the harder part.erested in.

The way the internal script works at www.privatelessons.com.

An end user contacts one of the teachers but the email is kept online and not sent to the teacher. The teacher then gets a noification from the website that they have an inquiry and they have to login to the site to view and reply to the message. This way here it lets the teacher know that the site is generating inquiries rather.

I know this project is only for the Simple database relationship but if anyone can create the full script with admin for a decent price I would consider it otherwise I will make the script on my own time but will just take me a little longer.

Thank you!

Custom Ecommerce Website

November 10th, 2009 Comments off

New eCommerce company needs to have a custom website developed.

Business Overview:
The purpose of this site is to sell school supplies to consumers. This will be done by creating partnerships with schools. Each partner school will have a “school admin”. The school admin will login to the site and create “teacher” accounts for their school. Teachers will be able to login to the site and create required supply list(s) for their students. Students will then login, find their teacher’s list and purchase the list. Purchases will be completed on our site and paid via merchant account. Orders will be electronically tansmitted to our supplier for fulfillment. Confirmation emails will be sent to customer.

Below is an overview of the business process.

-School Supply Outfitters will contact schools (offline) and enter into a partnership
-Schools will internally identify a “School Admin” individual
-The “School Admin” will visit the site and complete the signup form – including entering their email address
-Upon completion of the signup form, the site will create a school admin account and send a confirmation email to the School Admin
-School Admins will login to the site and create “Teacher” accounts for their school and setup a list of classes at their school. Then, they will indicate which teacher is teaching each class. Teachers may teach multiple classes, but there may not be more than 1 teacher per class
-As each teacher is entered in the previous step, the site will create a “Teacher” account and send a confirmation email to the teacher.
-Teachers will login to the site and be able to create 1 or more supply lists for each of their classes. Typically there would only be 1 supply list per class. Teachers create their list by browsing the product catalog and selecting “Add to List” (instead of add to cart). When adding items to the list, teachers select a desired quantity and have the option to make the item required or recommended, and add a line item note.
-Parents will visit the site and select their school > teacher > supply list. They will then add all or some supply list items to their cart with a single click. In addition to the supply list, parents can also browse the catalog and add other items to their cart before checkout. They will then checkout and pay for their items. For convenience, parents can save schools to a list of “My Schools” so they do not have to search for their school on each visit to the site. Parents are sometimes referred to as “Retail Customers” throughout this mockup and specification
-The site will transmit completed orders (shipping info and line items) to our supplier for shipment. This may be real-time or daily

There will be 4 classes of users. Users may have multiple roles:
-Site Admin – setup and maintain accounts (schools) and product catalog
-School Admins – setup and maintain class listing and Teacher accounts. A single school admin account may oversee multiple schools
-Teachers – create and maintain supply lists. Teachers may also have School Admin rights.
-Parents – retail customer. Can browse catalog, schools, and lists. All user types also have the capabilities of Parents

General requirements:
-Typical ecommerce funcationality should be included (coupons, catalog admin, searching, filtering, multi-level categories, etc.)
-Multi-level user login ability (site admin, school admin, teacher, retail customer), users may belong to multiple groups (i.e., school admin AND teacher)
-Site interface should make use of latest technology (Ajax, etc.)
-We will need a data exchange interface to our supplier (iteminfo.com) to retrieve listing of product details
-We need an automatic export mechanism to transmit orders to our supplier (specification available, may be real-time or daily)
-Credit cards will be processed through our merchant account
-Will need security to protect user data
-Ability to view admin reports and download sales transaction data (csv format)
-Open source cart software may be used, but will require heavy modification
-Google analytics will be used for stats

html mockup of site functionality – http://schoolsupplyoutfitters.com/mockup/Index.htm (please review this mockup prior to bidding)
website test plan – linked from mockup home page

Project details:
-Understand detailed requirements (we currently have a detailed html mockup showing how the site should work and a website test plan)
-Develop site graphical elements (site layout/look and feel has already been completed in photoshop)
-Develop entire site frontend and backend (including database/catalog population – electronic product info is available to populate catalog)
-Test site
-Install and test site on my host
-Perform final acceptance testing
-Provide ongoing technical support to ensure site is working properly
-I will retain rights to the code
-Your bid should be a fixed price bid
-There will potentially be future work as we make additions to the site

Bid details:
Your bid should include:
-Samples of prior work
-Technologies you plan to use
-Cost estimate for entire project
-Payment terms
-Time required to complete entire project
-Support you will offer after project is completed

Bids will be evaluated based primarily on quality of prior work (your rating) and cost. A winning bidder is expected to be selected by the end of November to begin work immediately.

Please use project message board for questions. Thank you.

Flash Game For Teacher

October 3rd, 2009 Comments off

From a web page, teacher loads a series of sentences form a .txt file (say ten) by navigating to the file on their PC

Flash screen says “Standby”

Teacher pushes a number key (1 to 9).

The first sentence appears on the web page and floats down the screen from top to bottom, taking n seconds to do so (accoring to the number pressed).

The teacher may hit the space bar as the sentences float down the screen. If they do so, a large green tick appears and a success sond effect is played (I will provide).

If the space bar is not pressed, the sentence hits the bottom of the screen, a large red cross fills the screen and a “fail” sound effect is heard (I will supply).

Once all the sentences have been used the phrase “All done” appears discretely on the page and the teacher is offered the option to load more sentences.

Students Post Answers

September 23rd, 2009 Comments off

SITUATION:
pupils are working with their teacher in a computer room
each pupil has acces to a PC

LOGISICS

- teacher decides on a codeword for the session and passes this on to students verbally.
- pupils open a web page which asks for the ‘codeword’, their name and an answer (the answer box being large enough to contain a large paragraph of writing)
- the teacher asks the class q question; they type the answer into the box
- when student hits ‘submit’, their name and answer is written to a file (named as the codeword)
- ALL PUPILS’ names and answers are written to the same file.

- The teacher can view the file (as a neat single web page) – with each student’s name and answer on
- The teacher has an option to ‘hide names’ so that the page can be viewed by others with no embarrasment to pupils

- A button allows the page to be printed
- Another button allows the web page to be ‘reset’ (blanked).

- A script to wipe all pages would be useful too.

Simple Online Classroom…

July 29th, 2009 Comments off

Hello,

The last guy screwed me over on this project so please read through carefully…

I’m looking for somebody who has experience with online learning software.

For example, you would need to create a program similar to hotchalk.com (but MUCH MUCH MORE SIMPLIFIED – probably only 5% of what it can do) where a teacher gets an individual classroom and she can invite her students into the room to complete assignments.

She is then notified in roster form whether or not her students are completing assignments or not.

** Please see attached document with a layout of what I’m looking for… there is a lot of writing but it basically boils down to this:

-A teacher must be able to sign up for my program and create a unique classroom to invite her students in and monitor assignments – in as few steps as possible.

-A student who is invited to that classroom by a teacher must be able to sign up and complete assignments in as few steps as possible.

-I will serve as teacher to individual students (who sign up individually and aren’t invited by somebody else)… same format as above though.

-I need admin powers where I can monitor every classroom.

That’s all.

Project to begin immediately.

I look forward to hearing from you…

Thank you.

Teacher Eportfolio Network

July 16th, 2009 Comments off

I would like you or your team to bid on creating a social networking e-portfolio site for teachers.

The website should allow teachers to create an account (after paying) and maintain/update an electronic portfolio and also socialise with others on teh website.

The e-portfolio will allow Teachers to showcase themselves to
1) An Assessor(s)
2) Social friends created on e-portfolios.net &
3) A prospective employer

The Teacher should be able to decide who sees various areas of their eportfolio.

Key areas of the e-portfolio are as follows:

1) Standards Area:

This is where all the teacher standards should be presented.

(Teachers primarily need the site to evidence meeting standards.
To know more about standards and teachers read at the end of this listing.)

a) Next to each standard the teacher should be able to link a file(s) and add a comment on why they placed that file as evidence of meeting that standard.

b) Teachers should be able to choose which set of standards they are working towards. (There are five in total)

b) There should be a fuction to allow all standards along with the linked evidence + comments to be downloaded in one zip file.

2) File area:

This is where teachers will be able to store/upload files

a) In the file area the teachers should be able to:

Prototype Of “lg E-learning”

May 23rd, 2009 Comments off

Important note:
I will be using LG as a project name, however it does not imply in any way any association with the Korean electronics giant. I want everybody to be clear because some had inquired about it. NO RELATION.

LG in it’s simplest form is just a quiz-like interactive learning software. LG asks a question and user responses. The asking and responses are done in a number of possible formats: text, graphical, video, or voice. If the response is voice (it’s established beforehand what kind of response to expect) LG will record it for a specified and limited amount of time. The scope of this PROTOTYPE PROJECT is only limited to voice response.

In relation to my other project (LG e-learning website), which is actually the same project, I will simplify my requirements so that it will only include limited functionality and serve as a demo-version/prototype. It will serve to demonstrate the following aspects:
- It displays exercise questions and records student’s answer in an efficient manner. No noticeable delay in between. i.e. At the end of a question the program will automatically turn to recording mode and instantly ready to record the student’s answer. It would help to have an “ON AIR” red-light that comes on the screen to signal that recording has started. At the end of the time limit the “ON AIR” light goes out and recording is stopped.
- How well you design the interface. Rule of thumb, simple is better. So a 7-or-67-year-old can get right on it with little difficulties.
- Ample space between items, big buttons for use with touch screen interface.
- Use of color to give a nice consistent theme throughout the design. At the same time use it sparingly, or in other words, only when you want to signify something or draw attention to a certain item/part of the screen. Remember, it’s education, contemporary/contrast (as opposed to classic/old, subdued, dimmed), clean straightforward letters, bright (white background is ALMOST a must).
- How well you utilize the screen real-estate especially when it comes to the teacher grading screen. As a mentioned in the other project’s post, the teacher screen must be very efficent and highly functional to accomodate the workload of grading a vast number of students’ exercise. As this is just a prototype you can just mock-up some icons and explain what they do (better yet, self-explanatory) without having to program anything into it. However (YOU MUST PROGRAM) the listening to students’ answers and be able to assign a right/wrong tag to it MUST BE DONE and be fully working. Again here, I will see how fast your code is responding as such that, human-operator is the limiting factor as far as speed is concerned.
- Anything else beyond the above-mentioned will be left upon your discretion as well as creativity as seasoned programmers tend to incorporate their signature into and take pride in their work. I trust that you will deliver above and beyond expectation. Happy Bidding FOR PROTOYPE ONLY.

Universal Class Clone

April 14th, 2009 Comments off

Looking for a script to do the functions that run the site http://universalclass.com/
Design is not important, but functions are.

I would prefer one already completed if you have one done. Send me demo in PMS.

Does not have to be as detailed, but need the same basic functions. This will be for a Christian learning site. I do not need web design, but just a functioning script.

Users will need to join the site. Once they have joined, they can either join existing classes or start thier own classes as a teacher.

As a teacher of the class, they should be able to make lesson plans in html or text.

They should also be able to give test which would be multiple choice or T/F and the test should grade itself. There should be also a discussion board for each class. They can decide whether to make the class a paid or free class. If paid, they determine the cost. Teacher can approve or delete class list and the class itself.

As an admin, I can set to approve teachers or have them automatically allowed to set up classes. If teacher decides their class is a paid class, then it credits to my account through paypal and I pay the teachers.
Admin able to delete or edit classes and/or users.
