Configure DNS on host so when user types their own domain in web browser, they see a subdomain on my server. Subdomain is set as a wildcard in DNS already, and routes to a php script which captures the subdomain name, and looks up the matching content from a mysql database.

Note: We have already tried:
CNAME, A record
htaccess

Host is Hostgator. Their tech guys have spent 2 weeks trying to get the DNS to resolve the wildcard subdomain, and could not do it.

I want to set up a whois server but I was told I need a whois script developed. Basically what i want the whois script to do is when someone check ANY SUBDOMAIN, it will check if the SUBDOMAIN is pinging. If it’s not pinging then it will return that subdomain is available for registration. If the subdomain is pinging then it will return that subdomain is not available for registration. I was told that this is VERY easy as whois scripts is just following the standard protocol to dispatch results. The server where I will put this will listen to port 43 for any query.

The script must be written in PHP and secure. So that means i need some sort of logging system (probably in mysql) that will log all queries made, the originating IP, url, headers, etc. This must work with any LAMP server running in suexec, suhosin, suphp and optimized to use lesser memory and cpu as much as possible

The reason i need this custom because there is no WHOIS script that works on subdomain basis. I want this script to be able to check any subdomain that it will pass to that script for checking by pinging the subdomain.

I need to input the whois url to AWBS or Ihost or AccountLab Plus or WHMCS or Blesta so I can offer subdomain registration via these billing software by having a whois server myself.

We need a script to allow sub-domains to utilize and display pages from the primary domain directory (using symlink?) Sudomains are for the registered users/affiliates. When a person visits the subdomain (e.g., theuser.ourwebsite.com), they see the exact same site as the primary one except for a few areas where registered user’s name is also displayed. If an order is placed through a subdomain, this also gets recorded in the db. The idea is not to recreate and upload the entire set of main site files into subdomain directory.

This needs to be done without SSH access and no access above public_html level. We need to get a solution today. Thanks.

I have a few sites that have subdomains that need to be redirected (301) to the main domain via .htaccess

The subdomain code should be wild cards, so that anything that goes to xxxxx.mydomain.com will get redirected to www.mydomain.com

I have tried a few .htaccess codes only, but none work and it MAY be because I’m using WordPress, which has it’s own .htaccess rules.

So, I need someone very familiar with .htaccess and expressions to help me create the proper .htaccess codes for my domains (I should only need 1 to duplicate across all my domains, they are all wordpress blogs)

So basically, the DNS information for the subdomains have to be inserted in a MySQL database.
The features I’d like to have in this script:
A user can upgrade the subdomain to DNS by clicking on a button.
Then the default DNS information for this subdomain is inserted in the database.
The user can edit the default DNS information trough a web-interface, or set his own nameservers for the subdomain.
There should be a button to delete the sub-domain from the DNS database, so it will work as a forwarding domain again.

I needa form to check wether a subdomain name is available on my main domain account. so if i wanted test.mydomain.com the script/form would check to see if it is available or not if it is available then it would say yes and then proceed through to another form where the user can then register it with us, (send us an email request) if not then no. Part 4 of 4: Admin Section

I would like to have a unique header image designed and a smaller matching footer. Both of these need to be coded. The header and footer need to be 850 pixels wide. The height can be any size.

This header/footer will be used on a series of different sites all under the same domain. Each of these sites will be under a different subdomain. A menu will link all of the sites together. I prefer the header image to be done in Photoshop and the footer just straight html.

The header image should include the main site name in a large font with the sub domain site name in a smaller font beneath it. I would need to be able to edit this subdomain site name in the Photoshop text field.

I would like to have a nice menu system included with the header image. Some of this can be imbedded in the header image as it will be the same for all sites build. These are ‘Home’, Help Desk’, ‘Forum’, ‘Blog’. If you desire to do it this way, I will need some html code using some map coordiate method to hyperlink these 4 menu options.

Beneath the image I would like to have the menu linking all of the subdomain sites. Initially I will only be having 3 sub domain sites. But I plan of adding more in the future. You must design a menu system where I can edit and code more menu options in the future. I would like the menu system to look like it is part of the header image.

The footer does not need to have a large height. It will only have hyperlinks with some background to all parts of the site. It should be straight html code.

I would require all images, html/php code, psd files, css file.

We have a fully designed website that we need completed. The design is static, but could use to be updated to use php includes or SSI’s for the footers. Our content would need to be added in and formatted to fit the existing design (nothing more complex than some copy and paste)

The design also includes a portfolio page. We need the static portfolio page to use php to pull image lists from a flatfile (CSV) and then display the appropriate images from that category. Then the image name and product number from the CSV needs to be passed through to a purchase form that collects user info.

The last form we need is a distributor application form that will email us when an application is received and save the info into a Mysql database.

Finally, we would like to setup a system so that distributors can be assigned a username and that username goes to a subdomain (username.domain.com) that is identical to the regular site but includes their distributor name in all of the order forms and their contact info on the web pages along with ours.

This last feature could be accomplished with an htaccess redirect that posts the distributors username to the forms and the website.

To summarize this tasks incudes:
Copy and Paste of Text
Creation of two forms and processing (order form and distributor)
subdomain system for distributor tracking

The design is finalized and this project does not require any graphic design work. The design is already formatted in standards compliant XHTML and does not require any slicing or PSD to XHTML conversion. All thats needed is very basic web master work.

We would like a simple admin interface made that allows our distributors to log in and edit their contact information and see how many visitors have com through their subdomain in a standard time period (day/week/month/year) No further tracking is needed other than total visitors through the subdomain. I have a vps with WHM (webhost manager) installed and need someone to creat a subdomain creator. I need each subdomain to have it’s own account. We own a domain name that we want to allow people to register subdomains from. eg: mycompany.xxxx.com or myname.xxxx.com etc.

We require a script written using PHP5 & MySQL which will do the following.

1. Accept an order using Paypal for a subdomain eg: myname.xxxx.com

2. One the order is returned from Paypal the script should place entries in a database recording registration details of the domain

3. The script should then make necessary NS entries as specified at the time of registration.

4. The script should provide a login and username to the client where they can change their domain details and change nameservers.

5. The script should provide a public way of people being able to perform a whois on the registrant of the subdomain with capcha.

6. The script should have an administration area where domains can be
added , renewed, cancelled etc.

The script will run on a cpanel server so much have security using the cpanel key. The script should be able to add remove and edit NS entries for each domain name according to actions performed by the end user or administrator.

The script must integrate with PhpAffiliate – which is very simple.

The script needs to be able to easily integrate with a website. If you can design a nice site for these purposes then that is even better.

This is quite a simple script to write, the trick is coding it to be secure and well documented commented code. It must be extensible and you must be prepared to provide ongoing paid support after testing and implementation.
