Stop Spam On Forum

I am using an older PHPBB and am getting a lot of spam. I need someone to either update the file, plus create ways to stop the spam or transfer this forum to a new platform that will help stop spam. I realize people can still manually register and post spam, but it just seems like so much spam is getting on the boards that it is a computer generated spam.

Do you have the technical knowledge and expertise/experience how to track and stop the unknown people who use my email id to send spam. If so I would like to hear from you.

Help Me Stop Spam On Forum

I have a vbulletin forum and I have no idea how to stop the daily spam messages being posted. I rease them fine, but cannot prevent them. I need someone to help me guard the forum against these messages.
