Android: Gps Trip Logger

January 28th, 2010 Comments off

Hi,

I need a GPS trip logger application for use when driving. The purpose of the app is to calculate tax refunds according to Norwegian law regarding the use of your own

car when working. The tax refund is calculated by the following factors (must be logged every trip – the user can enter default values, or specify values on a trip-

by-trip basis)
- Length of trip (km)
- Passenger on board? (yes/no)
- Number of toll stations passed (Several stations passed within 60 minutes counts as one)

The app should have the following functionality:

When opening the app it should discover nearby addresses (perhaps using google maps?) and suggest a starting address. If the correct address is not listed the user can

choose “enter address..” and enter an address of choice.

When the user chooses an address it starts recording the start date, time and coordinates. While logging the trip it should show the position in google maps as well as

having a button “stop recording”.

When the user chooses to stop recording the app should retrieve a list of nearby addresses (same as before starting the trip) where the user can choose the right stop

address, and enter one manually if the correct address isn’t listed. When the recording stops it should write the whole trip, total distance from start to stop, dates to a file on the SD card.

and times for the start and stop, number of toll stations passed.

When the user clicks the “menu” button he should be given the following menuchoices:

- Settings
- Sync data to web
- Statistics
- Help

Settings:
The user can enter the following variables:
- Username and password to use the sync service (see “sync data to web”)

Default values that will be used for every trip unless the user enters specific values for a single trip:
- Manual/automatic registration of toll stations passed
If the user chooses “automatic” the app needs to record the number of toll stations passed during each trip. The coordinates of the toll stations will be given by me)
- Passenger onboard? (yes/no)

Sync data to web:
The app should first authenticate the user with the entered username and password with a username and password in a MySQL database hosted on our servers. If the

authentication is OK -> insert all trip data into the DB and prompt the user if trip data should be cleaned from phone.

The trip data should be a format so that it is compatible with google maps.

Statistics:
Shows total distance since last sync, number of toll stations passed, distance traveled today, last 7 days etc.

Help:
Shows a short help file that I provide.

It needs to have a nice looking UI, and the code should be well documented. I am planning to port this to iPhone and Symbian later. The app will eventually be translated to Norwegian. I can provide the norwegian translation but I need you to implement it.

If I am satisfied with your work on this project, I will consider choosing you to port the app to iPhone and Symbian later.

Iphone Application Needed

November 14th, 2009 Comments off

Please do not bid if you don’t meet our qualifications
Priority will be given to people that can show examples of iPhone apps developed.
Should be able to develop the app with iPhone GPS capabilities (or learn how quickly).
Must be set up to develop on iPhone SDK already.

1. User downloads the iPhone application from the iPhone App store

2. User Launches the Water Refill iPhone application

3. Immediately it prompts the user to Turn on Location Services
a) User clicks “NO” the iPhone Application will continue however it will not center on the location but will zoom out to include the Vancouver Area.
b) User clicks “YES” the iPhone Application will continue and attempt to use the GPS coordinates provided by the phone to locate the person on the Google Map.

4. Once the coordinates are established on the map then the iPhone application will attempt to retrieve the refill stations. The refill station list will be a SharePoint list that is maintained and updated by Internal employees

5. Initially only water refill stations located within a 2km range of the person’s current position will be displayed. This will ensure that people have access as quickly as possible to the water refill stations in their immediate area. If Location Services are off or the iPhone cannot establish GPS coordinates then it will skip this step.

6. If it was able to complete the previous step then it will continue to populate the google map with water refill stations that were not populated on the previous step. If it was not able to complete the previous step then it will populate the google map with all water refill stations within the SharePoint list.

7. When the user clicks on a particular pin on a map then a Balloon style pop up will be displayed that will show them a text based description of the selected water refill station. This description will be a text column within the Water Refill Station’s SharePoint list

Basic Digital Signage Net.

April 21st, 2009 Comments off

I need a limited digital signage network for the purpose of delivering flash animations to several remote stations. These stations will be a small HP mini outputting to an HD Plasma display. I need a GUI that enables me to serve different animations to different stations. The users at these stations would need the ability to add text on top of the Flash animation loops. I need to be able to schedule the playback of these animations and it needs to be subscription based for each station. They pay the subscription fee and the animations are still fed to their stations.

Scala.com is an overkill example of a digital signage network. we don’t need any composing language

Programming Project 1239889580

April 16th, 2009 Comments off

My wife has a new Macbook Unibody 2.4 and I have the new Macbook pro unibody. We have our docking stations from our old PC laptops and would like to use them for our macbooks. We need custom Drivers made so they will work flawlessly. I am confident this can be done because the Kennsington docking station has a new beta driver for . Macbook http://us.kensington.com/html/13875.html .

We have two docking stations that should work for both Macbooks
USB for MACBOOK http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=ACP50US

Express slot for Macbook Pro. http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=ACP60US

I would like someone to make a driver that works flawlessly with my Macbook. These docking stations have video cards which will allow us to use more than one monitor. I will be looking at price and quality of previous work.

Online Radio In Flash

April 13th, 2009 Comments off

A client of mine needs a price quote for a new Online Radio website for underground local music. He wants the site to be done in flash and has already created a functional front end interface that just needs some modifications and polishing up, and of course the actual programing to get everything working as it should.

Here are the requirements for the project:

PHASE 1:

Site has a tab with live streaming music with a few stations such as “Rock”; “Hip Hop”; “R&B”; “Soul”; “Pop”, etc. This section needs a full admin backend where the site admin can administer all aspects of this such as adding radio stations, deleting radio stations, and scheduling time slots for shows etc. The stations must have the ability to play live streams from a particular source which should also be administrable from the backend.

Site also has a regular music player organized into different categories and artists and genres. This is a non live music player where users can select music to play. This must be administrable through a backend so that the admin can add music and categories through a control panel.

Throughout the website there must be a stats system in place. The site will keep track of how many times each song is listened to per day by unique ip addresses. Once 1000 listens is reached or a number specified by the admin through the backend, the artist will be contacted with special promotions etc.

There will also be sections fo DJ’s and Artists with a selecion of their music to listen to as well as links to buy there album (off site) and links to the artist’s home page. This must all be administrable thought a CMS backend.

Site must have user registration, and it would be nice to allow users to “bookmark” favourite songs and stations.

Site must also have applications for Artists and DJ’s. They will register for the site for user accounts and if they are accepted by the site admin they will be emailed a password where they can then log into a control panel to add their music and content where applicable around the site.

Site must support banners and advertisements manageable through the backend control panel.

PHASE 2:

Once the site is out of beta testing, Phase 2 will be to get it to all function as a application on smart phones such as the iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobil and Android.

This step will however come separate and I would like a separate price for the two phases.

Additional details can be provided and discuses once the project is started.
