I have a client who already has Magento set up on their server, and with a template that needs some modifications. A lot of these should be simple work for anyone experienced. The issues we want corrected are pretty small and at the moment are:

1) Change of logo on homepage.
2) Change font/font size.
3) Setup on the ‘slider’ homepage function (static blocks) as in the template design.
4) Help with setting up homepage products (static blocks).
5) Category nav bar text overflowing; correct this so bar displays correctly.
6) Category display: Make the category display subcategories (have image to show what we want).
7) Left side bar: Instead of category, want this to show a list of subcategories from the main category.
Removal/replacement of images relating to ‘my account’ on the top nav bar.
9) Static link to ‘Blog’ installed on the main navigation bar.
10) Set up on static pages (ie T+C, Privacy) and append to the footer.
11) Product info: removal of ‘tags’ function. Correct issue with images not displaying correctly (default Magento has the zoom function, not present in template).

There may be some more minor issues as this as we continue working through the website but nothing major. Would appreciate someone who could work this quickly, and there may be further works.

We have 3 sites and we need to move their static content (images, videos, css, templates, etc) to a CDN.

Since we have no experience with CDNs, it will be your job to recommend what service to use. Our sites are running on a dedicated server.

Here are our sites:

– We have 2 WordPress blogs, that use the same images, but different installs and CSSs (one blog is English, another is its translation in Spanish)

PLEASE NOTE: These blogs were moved from Movable Type recently, hence majority of their posts (~11000 posts) use images located not in standard WP image directories.

– We have a video site (medical videos) that runs on a ClipShare script.

We will also expect that any new media added to our sites will be automatically going to CDN for distribution.

I am configuring Magento 1.6 for my webstore,and have run into the problem of images in my static blocks not showing up on the frontend. I have run through just about every trouble shooting scenario and stil have not solved the issue. All i get on the front end is the square with the red “x” in the middle. But when I check the properties,the path correctly matches the file location of the image.

I am making a book search hub with all the book search engines.

Basically, a simple page with a form that allows the person to fill it out ONCE and it populates the individual searches. The site visitor then hits each engines search button to open a tab and do the search.

This, my web person can do.

What I need is each search result to display adsense at the top and side… and most importantly, save the page to the website so that each search then becomes sort of link bait for future searches.

It doesn’t matter if the “completed search pages” are saved on the fly, or the searches are saved and a script is run from a cron job once a day or so.

Obviously, there has to be an “index page” to have each page spidered by the search engines.

There is a program I use to create link directories that is called ilink. It is great for building link directories, however I would like for it to generate “listing” webpages instead of links directly to external websites. You can see a good example of this script at www.AlabamaBusinessDirectory.com It uses Perl to generate html webpages from text files. I was wondering if this could be modified to suite my needs. I need this done within a few days. I can send a copy of the script if you want to see.
