The main issue and possibly the cause of all issues ia a template and menu issue where template and main menu don’t respond to itemid when
sh404sef is turned off. For example, when sh404sef is turned off, menu item url does not respond to menu title or alias and shows like /component/hwdvideoshare/example.html. When sh404sef is turned on, url responds to menu name and itemid and is like videos/example.html

Modules and menus that respond to itemid do not respond to templates and itemid when sh404sef is turned off.

The sef URLs and page titles are just fine (it writes the category names), but the meta description is the same for all the category pages (over 30,000 pages, the Joomla global meta description).
I need a plugin / solution to create meta descriptions on all pages that should look like:
“Looking for a {business type} in {city}? Browse this page or search on {site name}”
-where {business type} and {city} are category titles that can be taken from the Sobi2 fields.

sh404sef comes with a VirtueMart plugin that does that and the sh404sef documentation says it can be used as a model to write other plugins.

I have a subdomain working on Joomla without any problems.

I would like to use sh404sef on my joomla website. (video website)
The foundation of my websit is the jomtube component so sh404sef should work with the compoenent.

This is probably something that a freelancer can do quikly.

I need to understand how to use sh404sef. We have installed this component alongside FJ related for a Joomla site. I have also installed an extension for sh404sef to make it compatible with FJ related

Here are a few issues to resolve:
1) to change some URLs, and redirect automated URLs to come here instead. (I have created custom URLs but they don’t seem to work)
2) to remove ?layout=blog from the URLs for blog layouts
3) to remove some URLs that the component automatically creates and stop it from creating them in future (pages we don’t want indexed)

If you have used sh404sef with FL related, that is a bonus and we would consider you to work with us on this.

I transfer joomla site to another hosting server and now having problems with sh404sef and sef urls now working.

Need someone to quickly fix this. Maybe a fix with .htaccess or sh404sef

I have installed Joomla CMS for a new site with 0 pages right now.

I have configured it’s .htaccess file to redirect mysite.com to http://www.mysite .com

BUT, this function does not work when “Joomla extension SH404sef” is enabled.

The project is to:

1) Install & configure SH404sef AND
2) Configure a new .htaccess file to redirect mysite.com TO www.mysite.com

Both these functions should work together properly while keeping the other aspects of Joomla intact.

My site is hosted with Aplus.net shared Hosting.

sh404SEF – I need this component installed on my joomla installation. I am running 1.x not the new joomla 1.5. the site is 80sretromusic.com. I am also asking that someone take the links on the homepage and make correct them to load on the pages desired. When you go to 80sretromusic.com, click on a link from the front page – artists and it will load under the minifrontpage, it needs to load on the artists tab at top.

So you will install – sh404SEF and fix the link problem.

I already written plugin for sh404SEF for my component in Joomla 1.5 and now I need another plugin for my component to handle metadata which is located in /components/com_sh404sef/meta_ext, not in /components/com_sh404sef/sef_ext!!!

We need our URL’s to work correctly with sh404SEF. We would like the links to look like this: index.com/joomla/Content-Page.html. Currently the links have too many sections and categories in the string.

In summary we need sh404SEF to work on the website and after fixing the issue, we need to know how to edit URLs ourselves in the future.

I’m not very technically proficient. I’ll give you the passwords you need if you will get it running.

It doesn’t have to be sh404SEF. Any script that makes my urls search engine friendly will be fine.
