We are an independant shop that needs a point of sale program to match our needs.

Our shop sells goods on behalf of the general public, the process is as follows.

A member of the public wishing to sell a 3 piece suite would come to the shop and register as a seller and open a selling account. They would then pay a display fee for the item they want to sell, which would put the item in the shop for a period of 30 days. If their item sells during the 30 day period then we take a 30% commission and the remaining money is paid back to the seller. If the item does not sell during the 30 days then the seller can remove the item or can put it in the shop for another 30 days but they have to pay an additional display fee. The display fees are variable depending on the size of the item they are selling. The sellers are asked to give a price range that they would be prepared to accept for their goods, the item they are selling starts at the highest price when it first comes into the shop and then can be reduced through the 30 days untill it sells, or a potential buyer can offer a lower price than the price on the item and we need to be able to see what the lowest figure the seller is prepared to accept. We need each seller to have a unique seller number and each item they are selling to have a unique number, these combine to make a barcode which should be built into the price label for attaching to their item. As a number of sellers bring in multiple items then we need to keep a database and inventory of their details and the goods they have sold and are selling. We charge for delivery and pick up of goods and we also charge for storage of goods so we need a facility to input these charges to the system.

We need to print off weekly sales sheets for each seller so that we can pay out for goods that have sold.
Occasionally sellers donate their goods that have not sold to the shop that we then sell on. We need to be able to indicate this on the inventories and sales sheet.

At the front-end, users should to be able to search by seller or filter a category by seller.

Each seller will need to be linked to a location (or several locations should they have more than one). It should also be possible to use location as a filter/search term.

Each seller should have a trade login and will need the ability to upload their own products and special offers. Any uploaded products should be linked to the seller automatically. They should only be able to add products to categories that already exist. The creator of the product should have access to the special offer features in Magento, i.e. to list their new product as a special offer. Only the seller and the site admin should be able to edit products.

There is a line for Sale Fee. That is suppose to work as a
“percentage” of a sale. Example – If a buyer bought something from a
seller at $30 and I have this set at 10%, I should get $3. This $3
would then get sent to the member’s balance, see #6

3. During checkout if a buyer adds more than 1 item from the same
seller, the shipping costs raise. Example if an item is $30 and the
seller lists his shipping costs at $5, and I add 3 more items it lists
the shipping costs at $20. It should be only $5.

4. I think one issue that may arise with selling. Can it be limited to
when a buyer buys an item, you can only buy from “one” seller at a time? WHich would be easier with issue #3.

I don’t need an automated payment solution or things like that, here’s how everything will work:

1) the buyer or the seller signs up for an account, provides the name and email address of the other party and initiates the transfer (as the escrow company, I will receive a fee and the person who initiates the transfer has three options: buyer pays fees, seller pays fees and fees are split 50% – 50%)

The party which initiates the transfer needs to provide the following information:

a) the domain name
b) the price
c) who pays the fees (buyer, seller or if the fees are split 50% – 50%)
d) the name of the seller
e) the email address of the seller
f) additional instructions (this will be optional, they don’t have to fill in this form unless they want to)

2) the system emails the other party and that person needs to click on a link, sign up for an account and confirm the transaction

3) after the other party signs up and confirms, the transaction starts and I will be communicating with both the buyer and the seller through a “chat style” interface. Of course, there will be a separate interface for the buyer and a separate one for the seller, one party should definitely not see what I’m talking with the other. The system will send the buyer an email whenever I post a message on the buyer interface and the system will email the seller a message whenever I post a message on the seller interface

4) the buyer sends the money (I don’t need an automated solution for this, I will simply let him know where to send the money using the buyer interface) and after I receive it, he gives me the necessary information to transfer the domain to the seller (once again, he gives me this information through the buyer interface)

5) once the domain has been transferred, I’ll release the funds to the buyer and close the transaction

That’s basically it, simple yet effective.

I should have an admin area where I can see all of the transactions, where I can see the contact details of the buyer/seller etc.

Another feature I want implemented is the “forgot your password” option. If someone forgets the password, that person can go to the “forgot your password?” page, enter the email address used when signing up and the system will send the password via email

Want I want to sell are HP Pavilion laptops, most of them sealed. a few were tested to see compliance, but they are still brand new.
Seller must not have hold on payments. Seller must know how to sell items as dutch auction (buy it now).
