Looking for a travel search engine which will incorporate a third party api (web service) for hotels and will also use banners or links from affiliates like hotwire and other car rental companies. visitors will search for the travel products from my website and they will be directed to the vendors site.
As simple as this may sound , you need to have the experience to be able to do it smoothly.
I already contraacted one Indian guy from SL who promised to finish this in 7 days. His name is Jyotish Kamar. He claimed he’s done this before. Apparently he did not have a clue of what he was doing. After struggling for a month and not able to get the data to load correctly, he just disappeared on me. I have not heard from him for the past 14 days. He is gone with my initial deposit.

we would like to have a windows programm like driver detective (search in google for that), that will search the computer for installed devices and lookup in an internet database if there is a newer driver available.

The software should work with windows xp, xp64, vista, vista64 and the newest to be released windows version.

After the search is completed, the user sees a list of outdated drivers and links to their download url. We have already a website where we offer device drivers, but we have no relation from windows device to a specific driver.
So your second task would also be to propose a solution how to extract device driver details (like VendorID and DeviceID) from device driver archive files (.exe, .zip, etc), which are available. For example this data can be extracted from .inf files that are available in the device driver archive files. Or maybe you have a better solution?

Alternatively its also possible to create an ACTIVE-X plugin that is run inside the browser instead of a windows programm, but its important that it also works within Mozilla Firefox. It depends on you.

Please give an estimate for both parts.

I need a full system – front end and backend for a scraping/search engine similar to kayak.com

However, this will be for real estate sites. It will need query search function on the user end – square foot, property type, city, price, and whatever fields may be added later on. Square foot and Price will be a range field (for example, between 500 sf and 1000 sf). Not all property types may be categorized the same from website to website (or with how my website categorizes it). The backend will need to coordinate between my site and the site being searched.

My thought on the process is:
1. User enters a search on my site
2. The search engine goes to a list of sites defined in the backend
3. Results are returned to the results page with basic information – address, city, price, square ft, etc.
4. When user clicks on a result, the user is taken to the site that the information came from.

I need to understand how to handle getting the pictures, brochures, and content onto my site. Is it better that this basic info is cached — unlike Kayak, the properties will constantly be changing.

On the backend:
1. Ability to add sites to search
2. For each site, how do I coordinate the search query on my site to match how the external site stores their information in their database (usually dynamic urls). Form input?

The requirements are as follow:
1. You get an excel file containing a list of items. There is a header row to name the fields and then a list of items.
2. You parse the file and create the MySQL db that will be populated with the items in the file
3. You make a search page that allows you to retrieve items matching some field values (some are from a drop down, some are text inputs)

When applying for this project, indicate as well in PMB how you plan to implement it (your design approach).
