I am looking to have a software tool/script developed that will return data from multiple Google search queries. Search queries will be of a specific form that I will disclose to the selected developer. The tool should have the following features:
If server based solution:
~Secure, requiring login
~Text field where I enter keywords
~Results page that shows metrics regarding those keywords
~Exportable to .csv, or copy paste to spreadsheet
If desktop app:
~Same as above except prefer app that it runs on Macintosh (Java okay, if it is double clickable)
I need to collect details about all of the ski resorts in the world. There are about 3000 ski resorts that I need to collect data for. You will need to identify all of the ski resorts, collect the needed
information and put the information in a formatted Excel document (provided).
The numerical measurements should be in English units (ft, miles). If the data you collect is metric, then you will need to hand convert it to English. A very important piece of data is the
latitude and longitude, if you can not find this data then you can use http://geocoder.us to get the lat/long based on the ski resort’s address. Also, you should get the data for those text fields from
several websites to ensure a broad and fair coverage.
The 2nd text file contains a list of useful ski resort websites with some of the data I need to collect. Beyond these sites you will need to find your own sources of data. The best source of data is the ski
resort’s official home page. Data should be taken from the official website when possible.
The deliverable will be a filled in Excel document with all of the ski resort data. You should collect data for every ski resort in the world. The quality of the data is VERY important; I will be checking the data for its accuracy before payment is submitted.
Timeline for completion is by 3 days sharp – and is not extendable.
