Fixing A Buggy Program

November 8th, 2011 Comments off

The following scanner crashes when its running by SIMPLY stopping the scann.

http://www.tarasco.org/security/FHScan_Fast_HTTP_Vulnerability_Scanner/FSCAN_PROJECT.zip

Important Notes:
1- It crashes with both http and https scanning.
2- It crashes faster with https scanning.
3- It crashes with long ranges scanning. some times it would scann 10′s of thousands of ranges without crashing. but on long ranges like 10.0.0.0 – 10.0.255.255 it crashes some where during that.
4- a programmer who worked on fixing it says that there is a bug in “Open SSL library”. But I am sure there is something else wrong because it crashes even on http scanning too.

The source code is available, can any one fix it?

What I need to be fixed is at least not to crash on HTTP.
And it would be even better if it stops crashing on https.

Please make sure you can fix it before you pd and better test it many times before that.

Fabric Scanning 4 Web Displa 2

November 16th, 2009 Comments off

I run a website that needs fabrics scanned (usually updates of 50-100 per month). The fabrics need to be scanned and cropped into 100×100 and 300×300 size images with the fabric number as the filename and delivered as jpegs. Fabrics will be sent to you via post and will need to be returned. (international is ok)

See: www.nicholas-joseph.com/custom/build_shirt.asp

Please quote price at per fabric scanned. Inital scanning will be 200-300 fabrics, then 50-100 per month.

Sports Arbitrage – Scanning

September 8th, 2009 Comments off

Data Gathering / Page Scraping

We have a sports arbitrage site which we are in the process of expanding.

Altought we cover a significant number of bookmakers already using XML we need to cover approximately 10-15 more which we
do not have XML feeds and therefore require page scanning / scraping code to be developed.

DONT bother responding to this project unless:
1) you can demonstrate you have written similar code as this i.e. sports arbitrage data gathering / page scraping
2) you are able to communicate clearly and well in English
3) you are comtetent in distributed system design and coding and can give suitable examples
4) are competent in c#, Web Services etc…

We want a solution provided that meets the following :

1) every 15 minutes the whole bookmakers site needs to be scanned to recover the sport/leagues/events currently on offer
2) this information is held in a memory and myy current system will indicate which of the sports/leagues/events we want scanned by setting flags against sport and league and event
3) when any sport / league / event scan flag becomes true the software must scan and update all of the odds available for that sport/league/event at once per 30 seconds at the slowest

Points to bear in mind:

1) bookmakers have mechanisms in place to prevent / reduce automated page (IP bocking etc) scrapering like this – your solution MUST be able to work around these limitations.
2) event data must be updated from the bookmakers site at least once every 30 seconds – you software must be multithreaded to accomodate this
3) your software must be able to spread the HTTP request around 8 different scanning systems which each have 6 unique IP addresses on – this it to allow 1) above to be possible
4) your solution must be written and internall documented in good clear English and be provided as a microsoft visual studio project written in c#

Dynamics Crm Barcode Plugin

August 8th, 2009 Comments off

This project involves the creation of a plugin for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 to provide various barcoding functions for updating fields and pulling records. You *must* have experience in developing specifically for this platform and you *must* have experience in developing for barcode devices, specifically Symbol bar code scanners.

The idea is this: We will create bar code labels with the GUID and if need be, the objecttypecode of an entity in CRM as well as some additional action flag to indicate what is to be done.

Feature 1) Pulling records.

If it is a Case/Incident, scanning it will first check the user’s user role. If they belong to one or more administrative groups to be specificed, a window will pop up with the “edit” form for that entity.

If they belong to one or more technical groups to be specified, it will pull up that entity but go to a notetaking tab.

Feature 2) Department scanning.

On Case/Incidents, scanning a variation of the barcode above with some kind of flag on it will quietly update a picklist field for that ticket to indicate which department is currently responsible for the ticket. Example: the receiving department receives the ticket, scans the barcode and the current responsible group field gets set to “Receiving”. When the technical group scans it, that value changes to “Technical” and so forth.

This project is to be designed flexibly and configurably so that group names can be configured without recompiling or any other major hassle. Language is not important as long as it is supported in CRM 4.0, but it will probably end up being ASP.NET or C#. Further customizations of this software may be required in the future for additional pay.

Scanning Old Documents/books

Ffmpeg Scanning

April 9th, 2009 Comments off

I will provide you a list of URLS of HTML pages. Our scanner should parse the page and look for links to .WMV files. Then our scanner should download them, convert them to our specs and in .FLV format then upload to a remote server then output a list of the URLS of the files on the new server so the operator can paste them to his PC.

Quite simple really. If you can do this, post a PMB and tell me about your experience with ffmpeg and how you’d approach this task. If you spam me with a non-personal bid or PMB that doesn’t directly address my project, you’ll be deleted.
