Hellobar Type Clone Written In Ror

February 17th, 2012 Comments off

I am looking for someone to build a website that will allow people to plug in JavaScript code that allows users to access Twitter and FB API’s to share that site. The feature is that there would be a countdown timer on the site too.

This web site would be for other websites to plug in the JS and run this share bar (similar to HelloBar) on their own website while we monitor what occurs. The project should take no more than 50 hrs to complete and you will be supervised by a senior RoR develop…

Set Up WordPress To Accept Content From Ror Database

November 14th, 2011 Comments off

I have a site that is currently built in Ruby on Rails and I want to convert the content to something that can be imported into WordPress.

Your job will be to set up a WordPress install so it can import the database and display it in a (rough) way. I’ll do the formatting later.

None of the functionality currently on the site will need replicating. I just need the data.

A schema of the database is attached.

Ror Web Design Needed

October 19th, 2011 Comments off

I’m seeking a web designer for my website.

About the site:
This is a crowdfunding website that is geared towards a younger audience, so the design needs to be clean yet modern and trendy. Here’s an example of a crowdfunding site with a design that is clean and trendy http://www.indiegogo.com/ .

The site is open source and built using the latest versions of RoR, and Pgsql so you MUST be familiar with these programs. This is a low budget project and I will only pay per project and not by the hr to avoid surprises in the end. Please send me your questions and what details you need in order to provide a time and cost estimate. Also please include work samples in your response.

Ruby Rails Sticky Form

September 7th, 2011 Comments off

I am working on a project in Rails 3.0 and need some help with a few issues. The most important is that I can’t seem to figure out how to make the form sticky so that if there is an error in the controller, the information entered remains displayed. I have tried returning a parameter and setting the value of the field to that param, however, even though I can see the value by inspecting with FireBug, the value does not display on the screen. There must be an easy way to do this that I am missing.

I also need some help acessing the standard ruby library so that I can use the www_decode on a query string received via a curl api call.

Can you help me with these kind of issues as I work to complete this project?

Please give me some idea of your ROR experience.

Need Very Simple Ror Site

January 28th, 2010 Comments off

This site needs to be built within the next 5 days. Developer should have good RoR experience and Javascript. All coding needs to comply to web standards.
The site will have a home page, where sign up/log in occurs, a user issue page where the user can write up issues and see comments from others about their current or past issues, and general area where issues can be read and ranked and shared on twitter and fb.

I have a $250 budget for the work. Should take no more than 20 hours to design and build.

I’ve attached a simple wireframe to show what the site should basically do.

Refactor Jquery Or Css On Ror

January 13th, 2010 Comments off

I have an existing application that works well but needs some refactoring. It has Ruby on Rails on the server side and JQuery on the front end. It currently runs on Windows using Webrick. You likely will have to work on Windows.

There are 2 main tasks:

1. Refactor CSS
The CSS for the RoR templates is spread over serveral files. Layout looks good on FF and IE8, but has some problems on IE6/7
Deliverable:
a)Clean CSS without any changes in appearance, preferable in one or two files.
b) Short, clear comments for each section.
c) validated html
c) Tested on FF, IE8/7/6.

2. Refactor Javascript/JQuery
There is a folder browser in the application done in JQuery, and a couple of other JQuery things (drag/drop). Most JS is in application.js and in a separate file for the file browser.
Deliverable:
a) refactor JQuery code into 1 or 2 files with clear organization
b) turn some post requests into GET
c) a small extension for the folder browser, will be detailed later

I am looking for someone very ORGANIZED with a sense for clear structures.

I will consider using 2 contractors for this job.
So if you think you are very good with CSS, but don’t know JQuery, please apply. The same is true the other way around.

There is no or little actual work in RoR. You need basic RoR skills to make everything work, but if you don’t have a whole lot experience, that’s fine.

Let me know what your strength is, JQuery or CSS

Stackoverflow Clone Using Ror

August 14th, 2009 Comments off

I’m looking for a stack overflow clone using Ruby on Rails and MySQL

http://www.stackoverflow.com

There is a Python/DJango Open Source project available at http://github.com/cnprog/CNPROG/tree/master that could be used as an aide for the SQL tables/functionality references/etc We would like the OpenID login functionality that is included in CNPROG for handling user registrations.

All of the user-points/badges/moderation and back-end systems need to be implemented including sending notification emails out to users/etc. I would advise a programmer to aim to just migrate the code in the Python open source to a Ruby on Rails model rather than trying to reverse engineer all of the website functionality of stackoverflow.com directly.

Canned bids will be ignored please include the last name of Joel that is listed on the about page of stackoverflow.com so I can verify you at least looked at the website in your bid.
