Graphics – Photo Editing And Logo Rework

October 21st, 2011 Comments off

I have about 25 images needing edited. I would say 10 of them have backgrounds to remove, the other 15 are minor fixes, cropping and/or straitening of close ups.

I would need you to use your skills and judgment of what looks best – I dont want to give instruction for every image. These will be used in an online store photo gallery.

About 10 of the 25 images need the backgrounds removed, the other 15 are very minor work.

For the logo rework -
The existing logo font, size, color is pretty amateur. I am working on a new site redesign – with professional photos showcasing the products (The ones I am asking you to clean are from the old site). The background is “rich” and professional – I need a new text only logo to compliment the design and image quality.
The layout of the logo would stay similar in terms of what it is now. Using more appropriate fonts, colors is really what I’m looking for. I would like to see a couple initial concepts and need to know how many revisions you will do. I will need it delivered in web and print format.

Contact me to see a sample. Also, show me a sample of your logo design, and Photoshop skills. I am looking for a talented graphic designer to wow me at a competitive rate.

WordPress experts!!

This project requires redesigning my current website designed in wordpress and adding the necessary plug-ins to provide maximum functionality.

A link to the current website will be sent to programmers that we feel may be a good fit for the project.

Anticipated project time line is 4-8 weeks.

Functions:
1. Event Management Calendar

2. Fully customizable Social Network: ability to control profile questions, what is publicly displayed or hidden, manipulate design, etc.

3. Ratings / reviews system: customized ratings and review section for only members to leave a review or rate a venue.

4. Site wide search & pre-designed search by keyword feature

5. Google Map API – list up to five locations in your area

Note:
Attention to detail is vital and open communication through the entire project phase is very critical. Please do not bid if you are NOT knowledgeable in ALL of the necessary extensions / programming needs required for the project.

Thank you.

Html+css Rework Layout + Flash

August 6th, 2009 Comments off

My client has a current site at http://idtsoa.com/. They want the home page redesigned with Flash added. I have the revised home page concept (including the 4 Flash “slides”) in a layered Photoshop file.

The two deliverables (to be uploaded to http://s271686403.onlinehome.us/idtsoa/, which is not a live site) are:
1 – Home page redesigned and tested with Flash included (one HTML file, one CSS file, images, .fla and .swf).
2 – Interior page template (one HTML tested HTML file, images, and accompanying CSS), saved as http://s271686403.onlinehome.us/idtsoa/insurance/main.htm. I will personally be building out the other pages of the site.

FLASH PORTION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Only the portion of the page that changes — the part in the dark gray box (including the box itself) — should be done in Flash. The rest of the page should be done in HTML+CSS.
- I will provide the font and I want the text to be done in Flash — not as a static image — so that it can be edited on an ongoing basis. So I will want both the .fla and .swf files.
- The version of Flash required for the site visitor should be version 8 or lower.
- The order of the Flash sequence is as follows:
1. Business
2. Individual
3. Associations & Affiliates
4. Insurance and Financial Pros
- Each slide should stand still for 20 seconds before changing to the next slide.
- Transition effect should be a fade between slides.
- There is a Flash control needed — the user will need to be able to mouse over each of the four slide names at the bottom of the big gray box and click on the name they want. Upon mousing over any of the names, the name turns yellow and the white triangle slides to move below it. On click, it turns white. The “on page” state is shown, which is yellow. Once the user clicks on one of these names, the slide stays fixed on his selection and no more transitions happen unless he reloads the page.
- When the user clicks on the “details” word or icon next to the word within the Flash gray box, the word “Details” will change to white, and it will take the user to a page link that is dependent upon the slide the user is on at the time. In addition, if the user clicks ANYWHERE on the slide EXCEPT the “controls” area described above, he should be taken to one of the pages listed below (dependent upon which slide he is currently seeing). Here are the slides and what each page’s link should be:
1. Business – business/main.htm
2. Individual – individual/main.htm
3. Associations & Affiliates – associations/main.htm
4. Insurance and Financial Pros – insurance/main.htm
- If the end user doesn’t have Flash, the first slide (“Business”) should appear as a static graphic that when clicked on, goes to business/main.htm.

SITE-WIDE HTML+CSS specifications (see attached interior page template for look and feel):
- Default font site-wide should change to Arial.
- All copy on interior pages remains the same.
- To make your job easier, the width of the pages and width of the navigation is the same as the current site.
- I need the new top navigation “tabs” look implemented site-wide (site is less than 20 pages, all done as static HTML). The on page state and mouse-over state should look like the “Insurance & Financial Pros” tab does in the navigation on the attached mock up.
- Navigation tabs should be done as <li>s for easy ongoing editing.
- Navigation tab size should look as they do on the mockup — each tab has a width specific to it.
- Page needs to validate with W3C.
- Page needs to be tested in IE and other major browsers (I can provide access to a fast testing system if you want to use mine) to ensure that navigation works and the page design does not degrade.
- Page background on all pages (outside of white area for main page content) should change to yellow as shown in mockup.
- Positioning of elements and styling should be done within the style sheet whenever possible, not in the HTML.
- Copy existing Meta data and page titles.
- Page needs to scale taller if more text is entered in ANY of the three columns.
- Middle column needs to expand to fill space where right column is now if there is no right column content.
- Link color, bullet style and h1, h2 and h3 styles should be done as shown in attached file.
- In the sidebar, the the twitter icon and text next to it should link to http://twitter.com/idtsoa
- Also in the sidebar, the LinkedIn icon and text next to it should link to http://www.linkedin.com/companies/id-theft-solutions-of-america

HOME PAGE HTML+CSS Specifications:
- Navigation tabs should be done as described in the section above.
- The current little slideshow feature on the existing http://idtsoa.com/index.htm page should be moved to the bottom right corner of the home page and made shorter (as shown in mockup), but not so short that any of the images are cropped (cropping white space is o.k., cropping the colored part of an image is not).
- The “Join this list” and “Associations & Affiliates” in the bottom right corner box on the home page need to be links to associations/main.htm.
- The About Us box header (lower half of home page) should be a link to about/main.htm
- The Latest News box header (also lower half of home page) should be a link to about/main.htm
- All the boxes’ bottom lines need to line horizontally — so they should be fixed heights.
- In the “Follow us Online” box, the the twitter icon should link to http://twitter.com/idtsoa
- Also in the “Follow us Online” box, the LinkedIn icon should link to http://www.linkedin.com/companies/id-theft-solutions-of-america
- Also plug in the twitter feed in the “Follow us Online” box: the RSS source is http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/43347288.rss
- Text that is in blue anywhere on the page should be links.

Thanks!

Attached please find our modified header version.

Css Rework

April 13th, 2009 Comments off

goldpartytime.com

Here is a list of problems that designers have pointed out. The problem I have is that most of these recommendations have all come from different designers.

Let me explain; one person will point out grammar errors, which are obvious but tell me that they see nothing wrong with the CSS.

I know the CSS is not right and there are coding issues. This is the main priority for the site. However I do want to fix 1 . 2. 3 .7. 15

1. Spacing between the lines and words in the menu. ( Menu should be more attractive)

2. The red box on the right side is not sitting in one place.( you can see this by going to another page )

3. The content in every page is not starting at one point

4. Your main banner, as well as your heading images are pixilated and should either be changed into real text, or better images

5. You are also using tables which works just fine, but could be switched over to a CSS based layout which would provide better Semantic coding, which would help out with SEO.

6. I would change the verbage for the link currently labeled ‘check out’ to ‘sign up’, since that is what the link is for,

7. the verbage on the ‘how it works’ &amp; ‘affiliate program’ pages needs
to be completely redone. The Method Of Capitalizing Every Word On Those
Pages Is Very Annoying, Hard To Read

8. there is a typo in the goldparty-graybar.jpg file at the top of each
page…either the ‘s needs to come off, or the word ‘party’ needs to be
changed to ‘parties’. I won’t be able to fix that, or any other image that
has embedded text.

9. you’re using images where you can use text instead and this will make it more Search engine friendly… also the menu I can visually have it on the left for you but the links in the code will be at the bottom of the page not on top and this will push your content on top and also this is more Search Engines friendly, because the first 100 words in the page are the most important words for google for example.

10. login and checkout pages looks like you’re leaving the website, they can look exactly like any page from the website…

11. html code is very large for this site. It was built in tables and
that’s why it is complex. I can reduce code by removing tables and
putting div tags. Also I will remove all css styles that are not in
html and put those styles in external css file (now it is style.css).

12. I see that each page of site has same title and those sub pages doesn’t have description, which is huge mistake. Each page of the
site should have different title and description.

13. the CSS coding was done very poorly. The style tags were used the same way as if there were not any CSS being used at all. It’s basically defeating the purpose of using CSS coding. Basically, 80% of the CSS coding needs to be re-done throughout the whole site.

14. I would place all your menus in a global templates or in a javascript tag for better maintenance in the future. That way, changes made to the menus in future can be quick and easy.

15. Headings, too, are all over the place. For example, compare the “Physical
and Wrongful Harm Liabilities” subhead with the other subheads on the terms
of service page.

The font style changes inexplicably in areas, such as for the “Let us give
you some examples of what we are talking about…” text on the home page.
This is a CSS fix.

In the left navigation menu, “Available City’s” should be “Available
Cities”; that is, it should be plural not possessive. Note: “City’s” appears
throughout when it should be “Cities”.

What is your opinion? Some of these I do not think need to be addressed now or maybe not at all

Flash Card (tufat) Rework

March 16th, 2009 No comments

Hi

I have purchased a script call FlashCard, from Tufat.com

I have the original flash source code too

I have already posted this project previously, and had a programmer start to work on this project back in Dec08, but it all came to a STOP just before Christmas ???

But since Christmas, for some reason the programmer has stopped working on this script ?? and I have been left with a half finished script, with bugs and quite a few silly problems.

I require someone to pick up where the other programmer left off, As Soon As Possible and rectfy all the bugs and errors that have been left in the script (still quite a few), so that I end up with a fully working, 100% reliable flashcard script.

I will also require some rework and design changes to the script,

I would also like add the previous programmer was doing really well, just a shame we lost contact.

I require a flash/php programer to go through this script and make it 100% reliable and cure silly bugs, and do some rework / design changes

please contact me asap so I can discuss these problems further

Regards

John
