Joomla Restrict Access To Page To Registered Users Only

We need to restrict access to this page to registered viewers only. When a non-registered person goes to this page, they should see this notice or be redirected to an article with this text:

“We sorry, you must sign up for your FREE account to view your
FREE horoscopes or simply login into your account now.

CREATE MY FREE ACCOUNT”
(links to www.meetyourpsychic.com/welcome)

I’ve installed a plugin and it works, but I need to customize the error message to the above text. http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/content-restriction/6004

Of course you can use any plugin you want or make it work any way you know how

Joomla Site To Allow Event Guests To Invite Other Guests

September 16th, 2011 Comments off

Joomla Site To Generate URL Links so Guests can Invite Other Guests

A Joomla social event website needs an Invitation support so that Registered Users who are on a Guest List for an Event can create and extend invitations to others to attend the Event (provided seats remain available).

Creating Invitations: The Invitation will consist of a URL Invitation Link that the Inviter can copy, paste, and e-mail to a few friends who they want to attend the event.

Accepting Invitations: When someone clicks and the Invitation link, they will be brought to an Event Landing Page that will use the embedded information of the Invitation Link (along with data in the database) to display the name of the person that created the Invitation Link. The Invitee/Guest will have the chance to answer a question to validate that they know the Inviter, Register on the website if they are not already Registered, and be added to the Guest List.

If the Invitee/Guest is already Registered on the website (or Registers during this visit), they may create their own URL Invitation Links.

The database must maintain information to track all Guests back to the User that created the Invitation.

Each Invitation is associated with exactly one Event.

Each Registered User may only create Invitation Links for Events to which they are already on the Guest List.

A Registered User that is on multiple Guest Lists must be able to select the Event for which they want to Invite a Guest before creating the Invitation Link.

Also need capability for system to display to Guest a report and related statics for their attending Guests.

Jobrapido.com Clone

June 21st, 2011 Comments off

Project requirements
First of all I need to mention that the project HAS TO BE A CLONE OF JOBRAPIDO.COM with all the features included. The site will use the romanian language.
The new website uses minimal graphics. The main part is the one that deals with the jobs collection, the jobalert and the IP/user tracking; all of them need to be as the jobrapido. com/it.
If an issue will occur with the incapacity from the programmer side to realize the project at the mentioned standard (jobrapido.com/it) and the below requirements, will lead to cancelation of the project and any funds from escrow will be returned to the buyer, which is me.
The future website will use the bellow links to retrieve job announcements and post them automatically, after a search is made:
- bestjobs.ro
- ejobs.ro
- mercador.ro
- locuri-de-munca.net
- myjob.ro
- netjobs.ro/locuridemunca-joburi-cautare.html
- jobs.bizoo.ro
- ofertelocuridemunca.ro
- jobsinro.ro
- http://www.piata-az.ro/Locuri-de-munca/Locuri-de-munca/Filtrare-Anunturi.aspx?Screen=1
- http://www.ofertelocuridemunca.ro/

Please follow the instructions shown in the attached files.
Attached you can see a page with all the elements explained. The Logo will have the “rapido” removed with “instant” and the background colour changed with a different blue theme. The site will cover a country only; the international flags will be removed. The characters will disapear once a click will be made in the search box.

Attached you can see the results page for a user which is not registered. Not more than 10 results will be shown on a result page. The two ads will be shown at the left just as below.
Attached you can see the results page for a user which is registered. The user words/locations of interest are shown at the right on top of the two ads. .
The registered user menu/page where the words/locations of the interest can be adjusted. Based on these words/locations of interest the registered user will receive emails daily automatically and every time the admin decides.
The website will use an IP/user tracking that will be used when emails with words/locations of interest will be sent automatically to the registered users and every time the admin decides this. The admin will have the control over the list with registered users and can cancel a user if the admin wants that. The registered user will have the option to remove himself from the Jobalert list.

The attached contains also the admin part, which it has to be exactelly as explained there. Please have a look and understand it before placing a bid AS IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

If you will win the project you will receive in escrow $100 the rest at the end after tests will be made and the site will be transfered to my server.

The time availlable for this project is 15 days.

AGAIN, IF ANY OF THE ABOVE WILL NOT BE AS EXPECTED WILL RESULT IN CANCELATION OF THE PROJECT AND ANY ESCROW FUNDS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE BUYER.

Thank you

Streamxlive

June 7th, 2011 Comments off

I am a future website designer and android os rom dev. I am looking for custom cam site software with all the same features as streamate.com as well as support for a minimum of one year. Programmed in PHP like streamate, or a flash equivalent.Details for this project are strict since this is quite a complex program. The software must perform very well, be very secure, and be able to stream good quality live streams with good compression. A system that allows users(visitors) to watch flash based live cams and register for free and after navigation through site have the choice to either register with a membership or just do a 3 day trial basis. Once the user has registered, they can purchase private or group live cam shows, and other products or services from the site easily with one or 2 clicks. Registered users also have access to messaging system, favorites list, streaming recorded shows, and live support. Models that are broadcasting live are shown on the site by a screenshot image that updates every minute, online indicator, age, country, gender, rating, nickname and description exactly like streamate. When a user clicks a model thumb, they are taken to that models live free cam viewer. The cam viewer must be adjustable by admin in quality, size and frame rate for both free area and registered users area. There should be 3 modes that the model can be in such as free chat (performing to all visitors), group shows(multiple registered users pay a flat rate ticket price to watch the model), and private shows(registered users pay per minute for private one on one show with model where the viewer also has the option to broadcast their own camera to the model if they want to). Models have the option to record their live shows and charge registered users for viewing recorded shows. Users can also upgrade their accounts for a monthly membership fee that allows them access to all models recorded shows. Users can get notifications by email and mobile when a model is online. I would like to have a tipping system incorporated so that (users) can give tips without actually being in a private or exclusive chat. Each models page must have an “About me” and “My photos” tab and a “My Videos” and comments tab (registered users only). A mouse over enlarged live preview on each model thumb (registered users only).
This is just the beginning. There are many more features available to registered users. Model signup and account management. Affiliate signup and account management. Dynamic affiliate ad tools and white labels. Model search. Customer support. Basically an exact replica of the streamate software with a few minor changes. Layout and design should be very simple and clean just like streamate.
I am also looking into servers and you should incorporate into your bid anything that you can help me with concerning the server aspect of this site

Joomla Geniuses Only – 3 Component Mods 2

April 4th, 2011 Comments off

Only bid if:
1. You are a Joomla GENIUS
2. You can complete this within 2 days
3. You can chat on gchat to ask me questions

The component which needs BACK-END admin-side modifications is attached so you can review prior to your bid.

Modifications:

1. Fix menu inconsistencies in admin panel (list attached)

2. Admin side has an email feature integrated in Job Order detail form which will email all recruiters actively registered for the position—it should only email ones who are currently REGISTERED, not UNREGISTERED…the log lets users register, unregister, and re-register…so logic must be correct)…
IF a user is DISABLED in the system,
THEN, the email should NOT be sent to them even though they are currently registered.

3. Import Recruiter Registrations feature in Job Order Detail…place below “Recruiter Registrations” display a text box, where i can copy and paste emails like this
email1ATdomain.com
email2ATdomain.com
etcATetc.com
and the submit button will search user accounts with that email and “register” them for the job order.

then function will display & keep a log of the emails that could not be found.

Delivery:
1. Deliver changes on my development server
2. Give me list of updated files so I can upload them to my live server

Phpbb Modifications

March 10th, 2010 Comments off

I try to list the changes in order of importance, from most urgent to the least.
1)Changing of the mail administrator

2)the random image generator for registration is often indecipherable you can not understand what was written, nor indicate whether they accept uppercase and lowercase letters, maybe put a simpler because then there is also the arithmetic to be included

3)upon registration you are alerted to the receipt of an email with a link to activate the profile, and only on this mail link reports an error in the database, as if the registration had not been successfully completed, whereas the profile is and is already active, or delete in whole or part of this system error

4)can deliver the ban command to a user or a group without this being an admin of the forum and then log into the control panel General

5)approaches in the management of a forum I like availability: moderator – admin – all – registered – private notri currently all registered users so if we pass through some private to a degree to limit some access? should create another profile?

6)add in the forum can insert YouTube video link to the site

7)add in the forum can enter strings like audio for video

8)change the navigation of the pages by inserting “initial” and “final” instead of front and back replaced by the “>”

9)reset the statistics that correspond to when there was change and allow then riaggiornino

10)increase the stats of the homepage by entering multiple entries: no registered users, no discussions, no members online, no guest online, no news, for example

11)allow access to the download section for registered users only

12)hit the homepage and the forum in all resolutions since motions in cases is displaced from the center or one or the other

13)set the home page news in the middle and allow the insertion of images loaded from the web, YouTube videos and audio, in this case choose pure images of fixed format in order not to unpack the width

14)make the forum adaptable to different resolutions and thus change the image header by creating a fixed central zone, two straps and expandable sides and logo zone login

15)the current enlargement of the forum is outside the auto shaped profile, see if you can make internal

16)insert a space between the header for a sponsor and the forum itself

17)enter a zone on the news where to put random banner

18)closure of the home and the Forum with an aesthetic similar to the head (if you want to talk about it verbally)

In conclusion I would ask how you can do to log on and find a post quickly between periodic backups that I made. I made systematically through the administration panel for complete backups of the forum, how would I act if I wanted to call one a sort of a “parallel space” so that we can fish out some information and without creating damage to the site today?
I hope I have been clear, we could assess whether it is feasible to upgrade Phbb 3.

Thanks.

The appropriate candidate for this project will be a master in flash and action scripting with php integration. I have designed the interface (in adobe photoshop cs4 format) for our websites new flash player we are looking to have implemented.

The flash video player requirements are as follows:

* embeddable code with copy to clipboard functionality & direct link to video
* full screen button
* Options/tools button which would pause the video (if playing) bring up an overlay which includes direct link to video, sharing options such as email, post to (facebook, twitter, digg, del.icio.us, myspace, stumbleupon), Favorite the video (if registered and if not registered display you must be registered to favorite this video and provide link to registration page)
* Rate the video give a + or a – depending on whether or not you liked the video, this would give the video an incremental score against other videos on the site.
* Volume Control
* Video Title Overlay
* The video player should also integrate as a plugin manageable from within wordpress (the primary site with which we will use the player will be our blog running wordpress.)
* Overlay of our logo when the mouse appears over the video, which would disappear after “X” seconds which would be a variable controllable from within the wordpress configuration options of the plugin that would control/manage videos inserted in our database.
* Display of other related/popular videos when playing of the video stops
* Display/insertion of advertisement overlays managed through wordpress plugin configuration.

Link Rotation

March 4th, 2010 Comments off

Hello ,

I have a website that contains a presentation to register in another website .
when a visitor reads the topic he clicks on Link A , so he is being redirected to the other website to register in .
After he register in that website , he goes back to my website and click on Link B ( Link B can be considered as a confirmation from the visitor that he already registered in the other website ) .
What i want is :
After link b is clicked x times , it will begin from zero , and link A will be rotated into link c .
link B also can be considered as a counter , after link b is clicked , the visitor will be redirected to a page which has the statement ( Congratulations you registered Successfully ) means that link B will not have a role in registration process , it will inform me of how many registered in that site , as the site is not mine .

I have purchased a link Rotator Script From this site :
http://homebizrotator.com/

this script rotates link1 after x clicks into another link ( link2 ) in a sequence .

This is my first Project and i hope someone can help me .

Upgrade Joomla Site+mod

March 2nd, 2010 Comments off

I currently have a joomla site, http://www.samschool.org/, running Joomla 1.0.12 Stable. I would like you to upgrade the site (while keeping it live and functional) to the most current version so that we can be more secure. We have some mods already installed that likely need to be upgraded as well. I am more of an HTML and CSS designer, not a programmer, so I do not trust myself to fix the site if it breaks (if I attempted to do this work myself).

It is not a very big site (less than 50 pages is my guess), and there are less than 20 registered users/admins/editors.

I also need you to install a module that will allow our registered users to comment on certain selected pages within one section of the site (http://www.samschool.org/community-news/). Once you install the module (maybe Jom Comment?), I will need you to walk me through:
- how to turn on comments on a given page in this “community-news” section
- how to get comments routed to an admin or editor (via email) for approval
- how to turn off comment approval for registered users if we want to do that

I also would like to know how to have publishers notified via email to approve changes when an editor or author has submitted changes or added a page.

This work may not happen immediately, but likely within the next two weeks. I need to give my client (a non-profit private school) a quote first before they will approve the work to be done.

Rss Aggregator – Live Feed

December 29th, 2009 Comments off

Looking to hire freelancer to create RSS aggregator – pulling RSS headlines and short description from other sites to my and displaying them in the same way Friendfeed does – this includes photos and video (youtube videos can be watched on my website if possible).

Users can submit their own RSS which after admin approval will be visible for others on the main page.

Minimal layout – Twitter like with media support like FriendFeed.

Users can’t add private RSS visible only for them (how it happens in Friendfeed). The whole idea is to build website related to one industry where different companies/websites can add their RSS to promote their services – then the mashup of all added RSS is visible on main webpage.

Autoupdates every few minutes with Digg Spy Like effect – http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/simple-spy.html# – if possible!

Catch of all images from RSS on my server required due to hotlink protection (same as friendfeed).

Each post can be commented and rated by registered users, after opening any of external links post opens with top panel with ability to rate and comment – like StumbleUpon.

There must be archive of all posts.

This was one, main function. Now the second tab – something like hot or not. Registered users can upload photo (which will be resized and cropped on the fly) , then can be rated by other registered users – this is something like time killer while waiting for news to update – also this function needs autoupdate – so a lot of ajax will be involved with this project. Please reply only if you feel strong enough.

Everything as SEO friendly as possible – any recommendation appreciated. If you think it will help to open posts still on my webpage with page title and file name as post name (like it happens on http://www.photolatest ) and then as external link… up to you.

The third section of the website – directory of registered users – some basic website/company directory divided on categories – similar to this one – http://www.dexigner.com/directory/ – nothing facebook like!

Layout to this project will be delivered.

This is serious project, so please only serious offers from people with ability to create project as above. Time is not the most important in this project.

Connecting Joomla Cb+fabrik

September 2nd, 2009 Comments off

Hello,

I currently have a Joomla site set up with the Community Builder (CB) plug-in and would like to add 4 extra tabs to the ‘User Profile’ section. Each of these tabs would have forms with various data fields. I have attached a PDF that has the forms. These forms are part of a resource guide that is currently on the site and available for registered users to read. Also, I have created some of the forms using the Fabrik form/app builder but need to connect it with the CB Profile page. More detailed info below.

Note: Project due on September 15, 2009. Events calendar portion may not be required by this date. If you cannot commit to the project, please do not submit a bid.

Project Requirements List:
- Change the navigation menu that appears for registered users
- Extended user profile must be editable by user and viewable by administrator
- Profile forms will be spread out across multiple tabs in Community Builder profile page (one tab per related chapter, not all chapters have forms)
- Create a “chapter completed” marker at the end of each chapter of resource guide that allows users to mark off chapters they have read
- Create a profile progress bar module that tracks chapters completed + chapter forms completed (similar in function to what LinkedIn.com has)
- Ability to for admin to auto-register users and send e-mail with temporary password
- Set up an events calendar that the registered user can add his/her events with reminder functionality
- Set up an events calendar that admin can add events to and can be viewable by registered users
- Set up 3 ACL for program (3-month/6-month/9-month subscriptions)
- User will be auto-notified 1 month prior to the end of the subscription (prompt appears when user logs in with option to hide once or hide always)
- User and administrator can neatly print out completed profile

Upload Manager

August 25th, 2009 Comments off

After testing many of the available upload managers, Mega File Hosting, Easy Uploader, euploader, xtrafile and others, I have found they all have trouble uploading larger files in a hosted environment where there are limitations on PHP settings and server configurations.

I am interested in developing a script similar to those mentioned but that overcomes the limitations of uploading large, 2gb+ files.

An upload system similar to that used in Upload.ThinFile.Com/Resume where the uploaded file is chopped into smaller files and reassembled on the server is desired. The file must work in shared hosting environments where upload restrictions or PHP limitations are applied.

Intergration with Paypal for automatic billing.

A CSS compliant skinning system with [tokens] for site and user information

An upload progress bar that includes time, time remaining, file size, and amount transferred.

A registered or subscribing user would be able to select files from their computer to upload to the server. They can enter email addresses or select from an Email Group and optionally enter a message. When the upload is complete the email addresses entered or all addresses in the email group would receive an email with a download link and the optional message from the user.

The file would remain on the server for a configurable amount of time based on User Group or User Account Settings

like we are sure it is ONE File Upload per Person.
But we may clarify from client if more than one file to be uploaded per user.
There maybe Category based Submission, (this though obviously is just a form / database field)

Twilight Ultimate Fan Website

August 19th, 2009 Comments off

We require a website design, with layout and programming for a fan website. Although the website will not be in flash, it should be just as neat looking in its html version. Designer should read articles on the character Jacob Black on Wikipedia and do independent research on Google to gain a better understanding of who the character is in order to properly design the color scheme and buttons. Also lookup various fan websites on Google to gain a better understanding of what types of features and functionality they have and give suggestions so that this website can meet or exceed those .I will also require frequent updates to show me how the website is progressing and I would like to see the functionality of the website multiple times before it is completed.

Only the admin will have access to the admin panel, moderators will have to make all updates through the website only so make sure that all the functions listed here for moderators are able to be done through the site.

Admin panel should be extremely user friendly and updatable and all blog and picture content should be updated only via the website for moderators, and on admin panel for the admin only. It should include the following features:

o Ability to create and add polls to the website on any location and page
o From admin panel, we should be able to add and edit blank template pages and the option to add a link to the buttons
o The layout should be updatable, I should be able to constantly be manipulating the websites color scheme and images, etc.
o A photo gallery client
o Ability to add unlimited pages with content, and unlimited links
o Unlimited blog updates from admin panel with full text and image customizability box
o Users should have the ability to comment on all blog entries, and admin should have ability to moderate and delete comments if necessary.
o VBulletin forum
o Admin and moderators control registered users published content, including comments, replies and forum topics.
o Customizable countdowns on any page
o Customizable feature which shows how many users are currently online/ logged in/visiting (find a widget to avoid doing unnecessary programming)
o Widget showing how many people have visited the site
Users:
- Should fill out an easy registration form which will allow them to comment on posts, use the forum, and comment on pictures in the picture gallery.
- Some users can be updated to moderator status for different parts of the website with Admins approval.
- The user information should be saved for admin to review.
- Admin can temporarily ban any user or moderator, or delete account for any user or moderator. Moderators can temporarily ban any user, or report any user to admin to be permanently banned.
- Select moderators can upload content such as videos and pictures to the picture gallery and post updated blog entries and create polls.

There should be a simple password recovery system, with a feature in user registration which allows for security questions which can be used to rest a password.

There should also be a database that collects all users email addresses which allows for mass sending of e-newsletters to all registered users with updates about the site. There should also be an unsubscribe link for any registered users who do not wish to receive any further emails, and an option to reinstate emails after one has unsubscribed.

Designer programmer requirements:
- If you are not quick to respond to emails, or do not have good English please do not bid on this job. I need someone that I can very, very easily communicate with and someone who will also assist in giving suggestions for the site, and this can only be done when the person has strong familiarity with the language. This website is to look extremely professional, meaning no spelling or spacing mistakes.
- If you are going to charge extra if I ask you to change the colors, fonts, links or other minor changes, meaning you are digging for extra money from minor changes, please do not bid on this job. I need someone who is flexible and willing to work with me, and understands that sometimes changes do need to be made in the production stage and is willing to work with that. I am willing to pay for major additions if I ask for them, but do not expect to keep adding on to the tab for minor adjustments, we will not tolerate this.
- Professional look for the site is a MUST.
- I want the site to go live within a month from the starting date, I need someone whose work is neat and fast.
- If you do not have any portfolios or examples of your work, please do not bid on this project, I need to see examples of your previous work.
- If the work takes a few days more than estimated, that is ok, but if you are nearing a week over time, we will have a problem.
- Someone who has good foresight and is able to alert me of any programming conflicts or any problems that might occur ahead of time and suggest ways to resolve any conflicts in the project.
- I am looking for a programmer with the lowest price, fastest time, and best reviews and previous work/portfolios. Someone who can demonstrate knowledge of the sites content and will work with me to help make this the premier fan site for the character Jacob Black.

Things to include in your bid:
- Price
- Time it will take for your team to complete the project (including transferring to host server and checking to make sure everything is working.)
- Links to portfolio and previous work.
- Ideas that you have to make this a good fan website.
- Exactly how you will communicate with me while working on the website, if it is through chat, what chat clients? Through phone?
- What your policies are.
- What your timings are, please answer in Pacific Standard Time.

Modify WordPress Theme.

August 19th, 2009 Comments off

The site would need to be completed by Monday at the absolute latest. I’m willing to pay $150-200 for it.

I’m looking for someone who can modify a preexisting WordPress template by customizing the layout/appearance slightly and adding some functionality. My goal is to create a website for a residential group within a university that would at its core be a news blog but would also offer students other useful utilities and some very limited social networking functionality. The theme that I’m thinking about customizing can be found here: http://themeforest.net/item/imperial/47783 I think it does most of the news/blog functions well, so it wouldn’t require much manipulation in that department. Here are the changes/additions I would like to make to the theme.

1. I would like to alter the white version of the theme somewhat since I think it looks just a little bit crowded in places, and I would like to have a white site with green as an accent color.

2. Users would be able to create accounts which allow them to post comments, photos, videos, and add events to a calendar. They would also have profiles that would contain certain information about them. They would also have the ability to send messages. I think this could potentially be done using BuddyPress without too much difficulty.

3. I would like an events calendar that users can upload content to (and if it’s not too difficult, these events would have the ability to be linked to news stories and/or picture galleries)

4. Users would be able create/join groups and create events for that group that would go into the calendar.

5. Administrator accounts could add new stories and edit other site content.

Additional Info (Added 8/16/2009 at 2:03 EST)…
Overall Design
The site design and layout should be based upon the white/light version of the Imperial WordPress theme found here: http://themeforest.net/item/imperial/47783. I would like the following changes made to it in terms of overall design:

Green accent color (lime green)
Additional space – The three column layout creates a cluttered feeling that I’m hoping could be fixed by spacing things out more
Web 2.0 makeover – Any of the design characteristics of Web 2.0 sites (Web 2.0 buttons, rounded edges, Web 2.0 icons) that can be added would be great.
Switch the nav bar to be bellow the page header. (I will give you materials for a new header later today)

Left Column
Here are the components I would like in the left column.

Top Stories Display – The current display that is in the top left is okay, but I would prefer if you could change it so that the story descriptions on the right of the picture moved underneath the picture so that it only takes up one column.
Blog/News Posts – These don’t necessarily need any design changes. However, if it is possible to make so that when people click “Read More,” the additional text is displayed on that same page without opening to a new page. I guess this would require Ajax or something like that. If that could be done for comments as well, that would be outstanding.
Center Column
Here are the components I would like in the center column. I would like to have areas in this column that display the following information in the following order from top to bottom:

Upcoming calendar events
Sports scores
Recently uploaded media (Photos, Videos, Music)
Right Column
Here are the components I would like in the right column. I would like to have areas in this column that display the following information in the following order from top to bottom:

Login box for users
Icons for RSS, Pictures, Video, Music, and Facebook
Recent posts
Recent comments

That’s pretty much it for the layout of the site. If you can think of a way to have all of that content in a two column site, that would be awesome, but it may not be feasible. I will send you more information later tonight about what exactly I would like in terms of functionality for user accounts, permissions, etc.

Okay, as far as the user accounts go, I don’t think they should be too difficult to set up, but I’m not completely sure since I’ve never done it before. One of my friends has done similar things, and his programing/web design skills aren’t much better than mine, so I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult for you.

Site Registration

In the login box on the home page, there would be a link to register for the site.
Only users with an e*mail address yale.edu or fenrirsden.com would be able to sign up. Like Facebook, a confirmation e*mail would be sent to that address containing a link to activate the account.
During the registration process, users would give provide certain information. Fields marked with an * would be required. Ideally, users would be able to edit this information at a later date if they wanted to.

First name *

Last name *

Phone number *
Room (entered as a capital letter followed by either a one or two digit number) *

Birthday *
Interests
Clubs and Organizations
Profile Photo
User Accounts

Non-registered visitors to the site would be able to view the home page, the multimedia page, the calendar page, and any static pages on the site. They would not be able to able to upload any content, post anything, or comment on anything.
Registered users would be able to log in and be able to to the following things:
View their profile page and the profile page of others (these pages would display the information entered during the registration process)
Send messages to other users and check their inbox for messages that they have received.
Add events to the calendar
Comment on blog/news posts
Moderators would have all the abilities of regular registered users and the following additional abilities:
Post/edit blog posts
Edit uploaded media
Edit calendar events
Delete comments
The master account would have the abilities of registered users and moderators as well as the following additional abilities:
Control whether users are simply regular users or moderators.
Make edits to the static areas of the site.

Here’s a description of some of the site components. In addition to the home page, there would be the following links on the nav bar.

Info
This should basically be a blank page which the master account can add text and pictures to.

Multimedia
This page should have separate sections for pictures, videos, and music. Pictures should be able to be organized into galleries. Also, users should be able to upload content to these pages and comment on them. The recent uploads to the multimedia section would appear in an area on the home page.

Events
This should contain a list of events having on specific days. The events should have a title, a category of the event, a time, a location, and a brief description. Users should be able to upload these events. A list of upcoming events would appear in an area on the home page. Hopefully, events would be able to link to pictures/video/music from the event and news article about the event.

Intramural Results
This section should list upcoming contests and the results of past contests. Hopefully, these contests would be able be able to appear in the events section as well. Users would be able to upload content here by adding it to the events section and then clicking an option that said “Intramural.” Only moderators would be able to add the results of the contests. A list of contest results would appear in an area on the home page.

Drupal 6 Real Estate Bug Fix

July 26th, 2009 Comments off

We have a newly revamped real estate website that was created with Drupal 6 and incorporates the ulisting module.

We need to have some bugs fixed that include issues with the featured listing display that registered users view. The display works correctly in admin view, but not for regular registered users.

There are also some spelling errors that exist within the module that we would like to see corrected.

In regular registered user mode, there is a search engine field length that needs to be corrected, as well as increasing search functionality to include additional categories and ease of use.

Classified Ads With A Kick

June 15th, 2009 Comments off

Classified Ads With a Kick, For a Particular Product Line

This website will deal with a specific type of product, which I will keep confidential for the time being. The type of product involved does typically have an expiration date. The site’s primary content will be “descriptions” of many of the hundreds of products that fall within this product line we are dealing with. These descriptions may be created by admins or by registered users of the site. Users will attach free classified advertisements called “tickets” to these descriptions. The site will initially begin with no content at all. All content will be added by the site admin (me), or users. Users will have an eBay-style private message area where they may receive and respond to messages from site admin and other users they are completing a deal with. A blog and community forum will also be attached to the site.

The site must be compatible with IE 6, 7, 8, and Firefox. An per-existing or custom content management system will be necessary in order to allow me to make changes when necessary. The CMS must afford differing levels of control between system admins and site moderators. Written in Pphp using a LAMP setup (Linux, Apache, MySql, php). I would like the ability to add one-line text ads throughout the page. I would like to be able to add Google AdWords text ads on the sides of the page.

The timeframe for completion is 3 and one half months, with a two week beta testing period.

Please provide separate quotes for coding, design, and both together. You may separate the optional items or include them in the quote as you wish.

The descriptions will include the following information: product title, product description, retail price, optional link to corresponding forum post, optional expiration date, optional links to product info, and number of completed sales of this product on the website IF greater than zero. This sales number will of course be dynamic content. There will also be a place for users to vote the described product up or down. A description may only be edited by the creator, the site admin, or a moderator that the admin has assigned.

The home page will show various featured product descriptions. There will be a search box to search for product descriptions by key word(s). The search results may then be sorted by the following fields: Featured (default), Popular, Rating, Newest, Most Available, and Expired. Continue reading for descriptions of these fields.

The home page will have navigation tabs at the top, which sort the descriptions in different ways for the user. The tabs will be: Featured (default), Popular, Rating, Newest, Most Available, Regional, and Expired. When clicking on a tab, the entire web page will change. I would like to limit the use of AJAX and advanced technologies. No Flash is to be used.

Here are how the descriptions are sorted either by clicking tabs, or by sorting a key word search:

-Featured: Description order is determined by internal site administrator (me)
-Popular: Products described that have the most completed sales on our website come first (see below for more information on how this sales process works)
-Rating – The product description’s rating as voted by users. Users points may be weighted (see below under optional items).
-Newest – Most recently added descriptions
-Most Available – Descriptions with the most classified ads (tickets) attached to them
-Regional – Clickable map above. Below, sorted by state and then city with a number in parentheses showing how many offers exist for the particular city. Cities can be added.

Connected to the descriptions will be free classified advertisements called Tickets. The site will enable registered users (free registration) to post free classified tickets for the exact product in the description if they have one that they would like to sell. In the same way, users may also post a tickets under a product description if they are looking to buy one of the described products.

Tickets will include the following information:
-Product Title – This is automatically populated from the description that the new ticket is being connected to
-Link to the “Description” the ticket is associated with. Again, this is automatically populated.
-”For Sale” or “Looking to Buy” designation
-Price (determined by creator of ticket – This can be the same or different from the retail price on the description
-Payment methods accepted or offered, depending on whether it is a “For Sale” or “Looking to Buy” ticket. (eg. PayPal, Google Checkout, personal check)
-Any information that will be needed or given upon completion of the sale (ex. Name and address, telephone number, etc.)
-Detailed user score information – This is the score of the individual posting the ticket. It is derived from e-Bay style feedback from other users in prior transactions.
-The creating user’s ID or name will be kept anonymous at this stage

After you click on a product description, you will see the tickets below it that users have added that are associated with that product. If there are more “For Sale” tickets, these will show first, and there will be a tab to click for “Looking to Buy” tickets. If there are more “Looking to Buy” tickets, then the opposite will take place. There will be a couple of boxes you can check above the tickets to select “show only FOR SALE tickets” or “show only LOOKING TO BUY tickets”.

Users will then have the ability to sort tickets after clicking into a product description. They can sort by the following fields:
-Ticket creator’s user score high to low
-Ticket creator’s user score low to high
-Ticket price high to low
-Ticket price low to high

When a user accepts a ticket (ex. They want to buy a product offered in a “For Sale” ticket), the original creator of the ticket (not necessarily the creator of the description) is notified and asked if they would also like to accept. This gives them a chance to look at the receiving party’s detailed user score before completing the transaction. The receiving party is also kept anonymous at this stage.

If the offering party accepts:

-Both parties are prompted to make payment of our fee to the website. The fee will initially be heavily discounted for the first months of site operation, but they need to see that in the future, the fee will be the greater of $2 or 10% of the product cost. We will accept payment via PayPal or Google Checkout, including credit cards used via either of these payment gateways,
-When payment is made, usernames are revealed to the two parties, and the two users may begin to communicate through messaging each other in the user message area (not the forum messaging area) to exchange pertinent information.
-User messages must be automatically filtered to prevent the exchanging of email addresses, etc.
o If attempting to submit a message with a filtered word/s, the writer gets a
notice telling them “Unless you wish to edit, the following words will be
removed from your post in accordance with our terms..” The removed words
will be highlighted in red in the message. They will then have the option
to click “Edit” or “Submit”. An alert with the original message as typed
before filtering will be sent to the board moderator and site admin for
their information.
-The two parties are able to rate each other any time after payment. Ratings will include:
o An overall rating of one to five stars
o Sub-category ratings (these do not affect the overall rating)
_ Timeliness of money transferred
_ Accuracy of the ticket information
_ Communication
o An optional text review of 140 characters or less
-The two parties’ ratings of each other are not published until BOTH RATINGS have been submited, unless:
o If the receiving party’s rating has been submitted for 5 full calendar days
already with no rating submitted from the offering party. In this case, the
receiving party’s rating is published and the offering party no longer has
the opportunity to rate the receiver.
o If the receiving party never completes a rating, then no ratings will be
published, even if the offering party has submitted a rating to be
published.

If the offering party does not accept the receiver, the offering party is asked if they need to block this kind of offer or this user in the future, leading them to a new page
-Offering party may block
o the same offer from the same user,
o and/ or the user altogether,
o and/ or the same offer from all users

User Forum considerations
-users can add to each others’ forum reputation scores as at slickdeals.net user forum
-separate forum private messages
-filters on posts and private messages (with clear warnings as in the main site user messages above)
-free registration
-normal forum capabilities for registered users – search, avatar, etc.

Optional Items

*Even if these items are not implemented initially, the site must be constructed so that they may be added later if desired.

-The ability to add a ticket to your “Watching” list of tickets you want to consider for the future.
-A link beside the search box for “Ticket Search” where you may search only tickets b(not descriptions) by a key word(s)
-If a product expires before the expiration date, a user can tag the description as expired through a link on the description that says “Mark as Expired”. When this is done, a statement in red text will be put on the description that says “A user has tagged this product description as expired. Please vote it expired or active here.” The product will become expired when it reaches a certain number of votes of expiration from users. If the point balance goes to zero or a negative number from people voting it active, the warning in red will go away.
-Safari compatibility is a plus.
-The ability to change the site’s background/ wallpaper from time to time is a bonus.
-When users vote on the rating of an offer, or whether an offer is expired, their points are weighted. Here are things that give weight to a user’s vote:
o 10 points for completed sales transaction
o If 4 stars user rating, multiply transaction points by 2. If 5 stars,
multiply by 3

o 2 points for each level of Forum Rating attained
o 1 point for each portion of a year as a user
o 1 point for each 10 Forum posts
- User’s points can be set to 0 by admin if I don’t want their vote to count.

Graphic Design Considerations

-The “For Sale” And “Looking To Buy” tickets should be differing colors.
-A female graphic artist is preferable.
-no Adobe Flash
-appealing to both genders and a variety of ages and demographics
-clean looking
-offers should be enclosed in an empty, rounded rectangle
-tickets should be enclosed in the shape of a luggage tag
-minimal javascript if any
-800 pixel fixed width – non-scaling, but with a backdrop/ wallpaper color or pattern behind it
-pleasing color scheme, with colors used to highlight important areas of the page
-logo stands out, is trademarked and integrated with surrounding graphics and slogan
o I can provide some direction on the logo
-rounded corners
-shading and reflection for depth
-good use of white space
-unique, eye-catching
-very obvious search bar
-possible use of elements from US paper currency
-favicon
