I need someone to refactor and improve the plugin at http://code.google.com/p/bubbletip/ as it is no longer maintained (last updated on 2010-03-15).
The main change I would like added is the ability to open/close the bubble tip by explicitly by calling $(‘selector’).close() and $(‘selector’).open(). Currently you can only create and remove the bubbletip.
Payment will be via. escrow only. Please include your expected time frame to complete the project in your proposal. Only apply if you …
We have recently developed a Facebook application with some JavaScript functionality. For the backend we are using PHP/MySQL.
We are looking for a competent coder that will refactor our existing JavaScript (2500 lines of code aprox.) to use the latest Backbone.js (0.5.3), so that we can continue building upon it moving forward.
An FYI: The current JS functionality works solid and is decently structured, however, only about %30 of the code is commented.
Basic requirements:
- Identify which parts of the app would be considered as backbone views
- Save backbone models with Backbone.Sync
- Ensure all current js functionality is preserved (all behaviors are pretty straightforward)
Notice: *Only* 10/10 programmers with relevant experience will be considered.

I have received a view in MySQL that has too many joins and goes beyond the 61 table limit. I need it done correctly.
I have included the sql file to look at.
Thanks!
I have an existing application that works well but needs some refactoring. It has Ruby on Rails on the server side and JQuery on the front end. It currently runs on Windows using Webrick. You likely will have to work on Windows.
There are 2 main tasks:
1. Refactor CSS
The CSS for the RoR templates is spread over serveral files. Layout looks good on FF and IE8, but has some problems on IE6/7
Deliverable:
a)Clean CSS without any changes in appearance, preferable in one or two files.
b) Short, clear comments for each section.
c) validated html
c) Tested on FF, IE8/7/6.
2. Refactor Javascript/JQuery
There is a folder browser in the application done in JQuery, and a couple of other JQuery things (drag/drop). Most JS is in application.js and in a separate file for the file browser.
Deliverable:
a) refactor JQuery code into 1 or 2 files with clear organization
b) turn some post requests into GET
c) a small extension for the folder browser, will be detailed later
I am looking for someone very ORGANIZED with a sense for clear structures.
I will consider using 2 contractors for this job.
So if you think you are very good with CSS, but don’t know JQuery, please apply. The same is true the other way around.
There is no or little actual work in RoR. You need basic RoR skills to make everything work, but if you don’t have a whole lot experience, that’s fine.
Let me know what your strength is, JQuery or CSS

I have created a portfolio with jQuery that starts off as a grid and slides over when clicked to reveal the relevant portfolio piece. The portfolio piece is a HTML page that is loaded through AJAX. When testing this in IE6, 7 and 8 there is an issue with performance (a serious issue with 8), in Safari and Firefox the performance is fine.
There is also a bug where if you click on any of the 3 left-most images (top, middle or bottom) when the grid is collapsed and keep the cursor there the loading graphic remains there until you mouse out of the image.
I am looking for someone to look at the code, address the performance issue in IE6 and 7, but most importantly 8 ( it needs to load up
). Further to this I’m looking for the bug mentioned above to be fixed as well.
Here’s the URL to the site, the portfolio is on the main page:
