Get a Freelance Job

This is a stand-alone Quote generation and tracking application for my personal use. Screen layout, schema, and initial table data are being provided.

Architecture needs to be LAMP. Also some AJAX is needed to autocomplete data retrival from MySQL tables.

I am looking for someone with Access or File Maker Pro experience to design and build a software program that will allow me to quote customers, enter orders and monitor the jobs on a daily basis. The quoting portion must be tailored to the following areas: signage, apparel (clothing), wide format printing, digital printing, business cards printing, etc.

I have an excel spreadsheet that enables us to produce quotes based upon various criteria and data. It works reasonably well but I wanted to make it more sophisticated, so I had a VBA expert develop it using VBA. Unfortunately first one programmer gave up doing programming and then the next was taken sick. I would now like to find someone who could pick up the pieces and finish the job. Once it is finished I would then want to do some further work using a combination of excel and VBA.

One of the fundamental things that the VBA programmer did, I believe, was to incorporate a link to our Sage Act database, so that customer names and addresses and other data could be ‘grabbed’ by the system.

If Excel/VBA does not suit you I am open to suggestions as to better ways to go about it.

The first step would be get a handle on how my ‘simple’ quoter system works and then how the VBA version works. Then it would be a matter of trying to incorporate some enhancements that my team wish to add and also to break it all down so that it is entirely driven by parameters.

Currently I have a website where a customer can set up furniture deliveries.
Basically, the member sets up a delivery, and the registered drivers are sent an email
alert advising that a delivery has come in and they sign in to their admin panel to view the job and accept it if they want it. There’s automatic emails that get generated to the customer and driver. What I’d like to do is change the delivery system to where a customer fills out the basic information through the site, the drivers are alerted, they enter in their quote for the job and then the person that’s the admin picks the driver. This description doesn’t give a full understanding. Once you see my site and the admin panel etc you’ll get an idea of what’s what. So basically I need someone that can work with ajax pop-ups and a database with alerts etc. I think this is not too hard but you have to know what you’re doing and it will take a little time. I’d prefer someone who is from the U.S. and has a portfolio of work. My current designer is extremely slow so I’m looking for someone new. This will mean additional work down the line.
