Write A Terms Of Service & Privacy Policy For My Website

August 7th, 2011 Comments off

I would like the TOS and privacy page to cover the basics – to be transparent to users and cover all the basic details necessary to meet best practices. Some sites describe the most important things to cover: http://freelanceswitch.com/clients/8-things-you-should-include-in-your-terms-of-service-agreement/. Please be sure to understand what these types of best practices are.

I anticipate that each of the 2 documents would be somewhere between 3 and 10 pages.

You are welcome to use examples you draw from other places to quickly put these documents together (I’m not expecting you to write this from scratch)

Meanwhile, I do expect that you know generally about what should be stated in a TOS & Privacy page & carefully compose the document to be sure that my company name is used throughout, that it is organized & coherent, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. The documents should maintain the general scope of comparable sites (ie Amazon & Facebook)
2. Explains that content submitted by users becomes the sole property of website.
3. User’s agree not to submit anything copyrighted.
4. Website is not liable for the products or information shared on the website by third-parties, users, or the website
5. Information cannot be copied from website onto other websites
6. Third-parties do provide advertising, analytics, and other services & may store information, etc.
7. The document should be grammatically correct and exhibit careful spelling, etc.

* Shopping.com – I work closely with this company, so their TOS & Privacy should be similar to mine, especially for the key aspects of “information stored”, etc.

* There will be shopping on the site, so it should have things similar to the Google Checkout privacy and TOS elements

* There are also social components to the site, so we should include the things that are covered in Facebook “terms” and “privacy” pages – http://www.facebook.com/terms.php

I anticipate hiring for other professional content in the future, so I hope to build longer term relationship.

Whmcs Module Mod

July 23rd, 2011 Comments off

I have a modified OpenSRS Registrar module for WHMCS already setup. I would like to add a few things to the module using the OpenSRS and FuseMail API’s.

1- Add bulk domain management options (DNS, Nameservers, Contact info, Lock/unlock, Whois Privacy on/off), for clients. There are bulk management options built into the OpenSRS API.

2- Add email forwarding option to the DNS Management settings using the OpenSRS and FuseMail API’s. We will need to add the mx records for FuseMail to the DNS using OpenSRS API, and the FuseMail forwarding fields to DNS Management via the FuseMail API.

3- There is currently no way for clients to add whois privacy to a domain after it has been registered. I want to allow this to happen. OpenSRS includes Whois Privacy for free (just like DNS Management). We could add Whois privacy to all domains as they are ordered, and have it turned off and dormant until they add it. When the client checks the box to add the WHOIS Privacy service as a domain addon, we charge them, (unless we have it setup for no charge). Turning Whois Privacy on and off is already in the current module, so that just needs to continue to work. We would set this up as a yearly fee. If you feel there is a better way to do this, please let me know.

Finished project will include:
1 – Working modified module
2 – All new and modified files
3 – Documentation of all modification to original files
4 – Step by step instructions on how to set it up

Privacy Research Us Few States

August 20th, 2009 Comments off

My client has very strict privacy policies, including following all applicable state and federal laws and working closely with local law enforcement.

My client is expanding to several new US States and would like some initial research to send to its attorneys on privacy in those states to be then verified, double-checked and expanded upon by experts in the field of Privacy.

As a note, this research WILL NOT constitute legal advice and will not be used as such. The client employs attorneys at top-tier firms for that.

This research should be considered raw research only.

Please spend no more than 3 hours researching EACH of the 4 STATES which I will give you in the PMB.

Jomsocial Extended Privacy

August 4th, 2009 Comments off

I need the following modification done for JomSocial.

1) I need to add two extra privacy groups in the member’s profile privacy setting in addition to the existing Public, Site Members, Friends and Only me.

2) On the Edit profile page, on each profile group such as Basic Information, Contact Information, etc has a drop down privacy selection with all the listings said above and the member can save that setting.

Note: I cannot supply you a copy of the script because I have not purchase one yet. I’m borrowing my friend’s for testing. After you’re done, please supply me with a site demo where I can log on to see and verify. Thank you in advance.

WordPress Bug Fixes By Expert

May 22nd, 2009 Comments off

1. I have a WordPress Site (hosted on my server) and being used as a Blog but could never get the FeedBurner to work since day-1, so when someone wants to signup for the RSS feed this error message always appears: “The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled.”

2. In addition a new bug has appeared where the Comments can not be viewed anymore when clicked-on (but did work in the past), with this error: “Internet Explorer cannot display this feed. This feed contains code errors.”

3. Plus, somehow there are two duplicate Privacy Policies on the main page but there should only be one and don’t see how to delete the 2nd one?

4. And the Privacy Policy does not have the needed Google Adsense wording update and can’t figure out how to install a new privacy policy with the update. That is using the WP Privay Policy Plugin which already has the updated wording done but installing it is the issue.

5. Related I believe to #1 and #2 (located in the upper right side of the WP page) my RSS News feed also does not work.

I have tried fixing these 5 issues myself but can’t figure it out. IMO, they are most likely either configuration or setup issues. I am fairly certain these issues are not caused by my server or its software but by WP setup issues so please don’t ask me to upgrade my Php or Apache, etc.

If someone here who is EXPERT at WordPress site setups and configurations could fix these issues I would also likely want to hire them to do other work for me, including ongoing maintanance of the WordPress Blog and other websites too. Thanks.

Simple Website Design And Codi

Simple Website Design and Coding Request

We are looking for a webiste to be made for a private tutoring business concept. The website will be designed according to specific requirements
and coded into a fully working site using HTML and CSS.

Requirements:

- Site will conatain 9 pages; Home, About Us, Parents Role, Fees, Testimonials, FAQ’s, Contact, Terms & Conditions, Privacy
- All pages will have a common header, main menu and footer.
- All pages will have a link in the main menu except for Terms & Conditions and Privacy which will be linked in the footer.

Site Theme:

- The site is targeted at parents looking for private tutoring for their children. The key themes of the site are education and learning.

Site Color Scheme:

- The site must look proffesional and business like but at the same time look interesting, lively, relevant and fresh.
We like the colors used at t-mobile.co.uk, paticularly the pinks, blues, grays and whites.

Site Structure:

- The site will be relatively sparse in content so we need a design that will minimise white space and excessive scroling.

- A centered box layout as found at http://www.fantasiabeauty.co.uk/ would be ideal

Header:

- A unique logo must be designed. The logo will incorporate the name of the company and a tag line. The logo must be unique and attractive
as it will potentialy be used as the official company logo and appear in letterheads and such. Simply writing the companies name in a big bold
font will not be enough. Company name and tag line will be disclosed to the winning bidder.

- The header will contain the logo and whatever other graphic and / or design elements the designer wishes to use.

Footer:

- The footer will contain copyright information and links to ‘terms & conditions’ and ‘privacy’ pages

Pages:

- Consistent styling must be applied to all the pages of the site. Custom CSS must be written for all the major html tags, such as
<h1>, <h2>, <a>, <p>, <li> etc. Sample content will be provided for all pages.

- Each page will have a different image embeded on the right side of the content, as seen on www.fantasiabeauty.co.uk.
Each image should be relevant to the page subject aswell as the overall theme of the site. Images should be nicely blended into the template
and not look like they’ve just been stuck on.

- The ‘Fees’ page will contain a <table> so all table tags should be nicely styled. A sample table will be provided.

- The ‘Contact’ page will have a contact form. This needs to be provided by the winning bidder. An off the shelf secure PHP contact form
script may be used.
The form must be styled appropriately and contain a ‘Send Email’ submit button and the following input boxes;
Name, Tel/Mobile No., Email, Message.

Additional Information:

- As you can see the site is reletavely simple. We think simple static html pages will suffice, though if you want you can use a CMS such as wordpress
or Joomla. Please specify what you intend to do in your bids.

- Everything must be properly aligned and look good on all the major browsers, i.e. IE 5+, firefox, safari, chrome and opera.

- The site code should pass W3C validation.

Deliverables:

- PSD file for the logo work
- PSD file for the website layout work
- Copies of all images used for the website
- HTML, CSS and other necessary files for deployment of website

Please provide examples of previous work with your bids. Thank you!
