WordPress Xml Feed Integration

July 29th, 2011 Comments off

Need a programmer with WordPress experience to integrate the following feed into the sidebar of a WordPress site:

http://feed.linksynergy.com/productsearch?token=fdc8125f842d06dd135c5a78c5b7cb8864bc6b5f42ce62a94cbb70c2481ed5a6&keyword=%22motorola%20xoom%22&MaxResults=20&pagenumber=1&sort=retailprice&sorttype=dsc&sort=productname&sorttype=asc

The feed needs to be formatted to look like the side bar of http://www.ttouchexpert.com/, with a few changes:

1) The title will be extracted from the <productname> given in the xml feed and should be the same size as the one on TTouch website.

2) The description will be extracted from the <description> <short> given in the xml feed and must follow the same formatting as in TTouch, ie. font size.

3) ‘Read more…’ will show the favicon of the destination website instead, and list the name of the vendor, ie ‘CompUSA,’ right beside the favicon and must be hyperlinked to the <linkurl> parameter given in the xml feed.

4) ‘Buy Now… From $xxx’ will read ‘Buy Now… $xxx.xx’ and be hyperlinked to the <linkurl> parameter given in the xml feed.

The items need to be listed in descending order (from most expensive to least expensive).

The image will be extracted from the <imageurl> parameter given in the xml feed, and must be hyperlinked to the <linkurl> parameter given in the xml feed.

In the example feed above, the keyword is ‘motorola xoom.’ The integrated feed will take the keyword specified in a ‘Custom Field’ in WordPress. For example, if I post a review about an ‘Asus eee Transformer,’ I would add a custom field named ‘product’ and give it the value of ‘asus eee transformer’ when creating the post in WordPress.

The feed would then query LinkShare for any products named ‘asus eee transformer,’ and these products will be listed in the sidebar.

The products listed in the sidebar will only be shown on post pages, and not on the home page.

We already added it and it worked on one format of our dynamic URLs but not on the other.

Elevator Simulator 2

Step 1: Create Classes

Create the class definitions complete with attributes and method prototypes.

Step 2: Code the Methods

Code the methods for each of the classes in your class definitions.

Step 3: Create the Main Method

Code the main method driver for your elevator simulation application.

Using Microsoft Word, provide your test plan for testing the elevator simulation. Execute your test plan and include your test results in your Test Plan document.

Run the Simulation and Collect the Data

Run your elevator simulation multiple times, varying the number-of-elevators parameter from 1 through 8, collecting the data from each run.
Make several runs for each value of the number-of-elevators parameter used.
Combine the datasets for each value used for the number-of-elevators parameter into a single data set.
The data sets should be created as csv (comma delimited) files with one set of data on each line (i.e., separate each set by a carriage-return/line-feed).
You should have one fairly large data set for each value of the number-of-elevators (8 data sets in all) used.

Use Php To Code 2 Parameters On 3 Pages Into Ec2 Db

May 13th, 2011 Comments off

Use Perl, PHP, JSP, ASP, or .Net To Code 2 Parameters On 3 Pages For A Clickbank Product.

Most Important! If you don’t have experience coding in Linux without a Cpanel (Amazon EC2 Database), please don’t apply.

Here are the specific instructions from Clickbank:

Step 2: Creating PitchPlus Upsell Payment Links

Now that you’ve created your PitchPlus Upsell Pitch Pages, it’s time to add accept and decline payment links to them. A PitchPlus upsell payment link is the same as any other payment link, with the exception of these two parameters: cbur (response type) and cbf (session identifier).

The cbur response type parameter tells ClickBank if the customer has accepted or declined your PitchPlus offer. Therefore, your PitchPlus Upsell Pitch Page must include two payment links, one with an accept (a) value and the other with a decline value.

For example, the accept button should use the following payment link format:

http://3.somenick.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=a

The decline button would use the following payment link format:

http://3.somenick.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=d

The CBF Session Identification Parameter

The cbf session identification parameter allows you to offer PitchPlus Upsells to customers with disabled browser cookies (approximately 10% of customers). You are not required to use the cbf session identification parameter; however, if it is not used, customers with disabled cookies will be redirected to the standard order confirmation page, rather than your first PitchPlus Upsell Pitch Page.

When the customer makes a purchase, ClickBank will pass the cbf parameter to your first PitchPlus Upsell Pitch Page. You must then capture the parameter and pass it back to ClickBank in the payment link. This may be accomplished using a dynamic programming language such as Perl, PHP, JSP, ASP .Net or others.

If you are not experienced with dynamic programming, we recommend hiring an experienced developer for assistance.

An example of how to retrieve the parameter using PHP is:

$_REQUEST['cbf']

Example payment links:

http://3.somenick.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=a&cbf=<parameter passed>

http://3.somenick.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=d&cbf=<parameter passed>

Flash Utf8 Led Scroller/ticker

March 17th, 2010 Comments off

Task: Clone and functional enhancement of 2 Flash ticker components

Both tickers should be isolated (no image below) as indpendent
flash components and resizable to any size (e.g. double length
of the board and same hight etc.). The font sould be adjusted dynamically.

All UTF-8 (Unicode) characters should be supported, so also Chinese, Korean, Arabic etc
(e.g. ملاحظات)

Right-To-Left languages/character sets (e.g. Arabic, Kurdish) should
be automatically detected and scrolled right-to-left.

The texts to be displayed should be passable as part of the
flash component configuration inside the embedded HTML file by
using embedded params (so, not by a separate XML text file)

e.g.
< param name=”line-1″ value=”Greeting Text”>
< param name=”line-2″ value=”Any UTF-8 charcaters ملاحظات”>
.
.
< param name=”line-n” value=”<font color=”#FFCC00″><b>17:00 LH 768 Frankfurt</b></font>”>

HTML control resolution (e.g. font, color, bold etc.) should be only possible for the non-LED ticker (similar to the original flash component)

The display of the ‘LED board frame’ should be optionally by parameter ON or OFF (no frame).

Speed and brightness should be pre-settable by parameter as well (similar to the
adjustable controls on the LED board frame).

LED tiles for the colours Red, Orange, Yellow, Purple, Green and Gray should be
provided and adjustable by parameter.

Vertical scrolling (UP/Down) should be provided and adjustable by parameter.

Parallel running of more than one instance inside a single page must be possible and smooth.

Appearence should remain 100% identically to the sample

The SWF and FLA files of the base component will obtained from “Flash Den”
and can be provided to interested developer as development base. It can be inquired
for free to check the code and have a base for quotation as well.

Here the link to the original Ticker
http://activeden.net/item/xml-news-ticker/7911

Summary of adjustments:

+ Clone existing functionality (I don’t know if you can extract the source from the Flash-den component)

+ Isolation of both tickers
+ Free dimensioning (e.g. 400×200 or 1366×120 etc.)
+ Full Unicode support (UTF-8, e.g. Chinese, Arabic)
+ Autodetection of right-to-left character sets (e.g. Arabic) and appropriate scrolling direction
+ Embedded parameter passing
+ Scrolling Speed/Brightness parameters
+ Optional LED board frame ON/OFF parameter
+ Different (predefined) LED color tiles (e.g. red, green etc.)
+ Vertical scrolling option (UP/Down)

Jquery Expert Wanted

August 4th, 2009 Comments off

Hello friends,

I am trying to validate a form using jQuery and PHP. The actual
filtering is done by a PHP class which receives the data
asynchronously from jQuery and if it finds the form field data
invalid, returns an error.

So, I am serializing the form and then split it into array. I’m
looping through the array and passing each value to the jQuery.ajax
function. I would need to return an error to the ID hook if something
is wrong and I’m stuck in creating it. PHP successfully returns the
information but I’m having a very hard time with the darn hook. Please
see the code below:

$(document).ready(function() {
$(function() {
$(“#form-submit”).click(function() {
/*
serialize the form and create the initial array
*/
array = $(“#theform”).serialize().split(“&”);
for(var i in array) {
/*
for each value, split it again and grab the element
key
which will be my CUSTOM_PARAMETER
*/
arr = array[i].split(“=”);
var custom_parameter = arr[0];
/*
arr[0] is the key which is basically the
CUSTOM_PARAMETER I need
arr[1] is the actual value and makes no interest
*/
$.ajax({
url: ‘request.php’,
type: ‘POST’,
data: array[i],
success: function(data) {
/*
PHP returns an error if the data is invalid
but I need to define a “hook” using the
CUSTOM_PARAMETER element
ex: $(“#error_phone_number”).html(data);
*/
$(“#error_”+custom_parameter).html(data);
}
});
}
});
});

});

I hope I succeeded to make myself as clear as possible and of course,
I would really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thank you!

Full News Feed Implementation

July 1st, 2009 Comments off

I need an experienced person to custom install a full news feed on my website. It has to be tailored around my wordpress theme. Below are the different customization details to use however I need the coding behind it to pass my web developer toolbar check once finished.

I need this done quickly!

Styling The News Feed:

Below are the different css classes used that can be used to style the headlines and stories.

* StoryTitle – Title in Headline view
* StoryText – Description in Headline view
* StoryItem – Row in Headline view
* StoryItemAlt – Alternating Row in Headline view
* HeadlineLink – Return to Headlines Link
* SingleStoryTitle – Title in Story View
* SingleStoryItem – Story Row/Div in Story View
* SingleStoryText – Story details in Story View

Feed Options

* subscriberKey = string : Required to show feeds
* HeadlineResults – string: The name of the div which will contain the list of headlines that are to be shown. By Default Headline and Results are shown in same div.
* StoryResults – string : The name of the div which will contain the story that is chosen. By Default Headline and Results are shown in same div.
* NumHeadlines – int : The number of headlines to show in the HeadlineResults div
* StoryUrl – string : If you want the story to link to a different page, you need to setup this parameter to the url of the Story. The javascript will add the required QueryString Parameter tho this url as specified by the StoryIdParam option
* StoryIdParam – string : If you want to specify a different querystring parameter for the story ID instead of the default parameter, specify it here. You may need to do this if you use the default StoryIdParam for something else
* ShowReturnLink – bool : This option will toggle whether or not the ‘Return to Headlines’ link is shown when viewing a story.
* ReturnLinkUrl – string : This option will allow you to use a different link other than the default javascript to show the headlines page. It will only show if ShowReturnLink = true
* ReturnLinkText – string : This option will allow you to display different text for the ‘Return to Headlines’ link
* ShowTitleOnly – bool : This option will allow you to only show the headline and not the description in the headline view
* StoryId – int : If you want to specify the StoryId, it can be specified here and will pull this story. *Be aware that the story will not pull if it has expired (is no longer one of the latest 10 stories)

Option Defaults

&lt;script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://feeds.mortgagenewsdaily.com/Scripts/NewsFeed.js” id=”MNDNewsFeed”&gt;
{ subscriberKey : null,

}
&lt;/script&gt;
&lt;div id=”storyResults”&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;

Mod_rewrite & Curl Editing

June 24th, 2009 Comments off

I need to get a cURL script and .htaccess file edited to use mod_rewrite to turn &amp;parameter=variable formatted URLs into search engine friendly URLs.

Here’s how my system currently works:

1. My .htaccess file takes all URLs with a certain folder in the path (let’s say “mysite.com/123″ for example) and sends it to a cURL script (let’s say “mysite.com/123.php”).

2. The 123.php script uses regular expression with cURL to pull another website onto my own domain. So “myusername.othersite.com/123/results.php?123=abc” gets rewritten as “mysite.com/123/results.php?123=abc”. I have a contractual agreement to be able to do this with the other site.

I just need someone to edit my existing .htaccess mod_rewrite script and cURL script to turn all instances of “&amp;parameter=variable” into “/parameter:variable”.

Parameters and variables are not consistent – the script needs to be able to handle any of them, and any number of them). All links on a page output by the cURL script need to be changed to the search engine friendly version so it is a seamless experience for the user.

Phplist Customization

March 26th, 2009 No comments

I need three addon scripts for phplist,

1) a form action script which takes the page’s URL as a directory parameter in addition to the usual subscription parameters, and logs a subscription with phplist. The subscription box will be inserted into directory pages on openjob.com.

2) A second script will create and send the emails when invoked by cron. The script will collect information based on the directory parameter of the subscriptions, and create an email and send it.

3) Unsubscribe mechanism both via link and email

Deliverables will be the scripts, plus a test harness consisting of:

1. HTML page with the subscription form, plus a means to input an arbitrary directory string /Accountancy/Manchester/.

phplist must be configured to send an email confirmation of the subscription to the subscriber

2. a command line php script that invokes the mailing process, emails will be sent to all subscribers with different content according to the directory parameter (code some test content for each value)

3. Unsubscribe email mechanism, HTML page with unsubscribe link

I will install your software in my own test environment to check. I will provide access to the development area if needed.
