Our server is running Apache 1.3.41, with PHP 4.4.9.

Our server is full of important scripts which require PHP4. These would break if we converted to PHP5.

However, we now need to install a new script which requires PHP5. We can’t upgrade the whole server to PHP5, and we do not want to have to get a new server.

I have heard that it is possible to create an environment where PHP5 can run, separately, on a PHP4 server.

If you have done this in the past, and are 100% confident that you can do it safely, we’d like to hire you to do this on our server — install PHP5 on our server, running separately and not interfering with PHP4.

I need a custom file hosting script that allows users to have virtual drives which mimic the look windows operating system (i.e.: http://www.4shared.com/dir/1567809/8fff9481/clone.html). Must support username/password authentication features, and other permissions should be able to be set by users.

Must also incorporate a torrent client proxy (allowing users to submit .torrent urls or upload .torrent files from their desktop) and OUR server will download them, and when the download is complete we will provide the user with an http download link from our server.

Must also handle the in-browser viewing of specific types of files in different ways: i.e.: pdf files should be viewable in-browser similarly to www.docshare.com, .doc files should have a similar viewing mechanism, movies should play in browser.

The user will also be shown the status of the download with an avg k/s meter and a completion meter.

*File caching*
torrent downloads will be cached with an expiry of a definable number of days (i.e.: 30 days) – when a user downloads a torrented file to OUR servers it will be deleted in 30 days, unless another user requests the exact same .torrent download (MD5 checksum, maybe?), then the 30 day expiration starts over.

If the torrent has already been downloaded by another user, and the files are still active in our cache of recently downloaded files, then the user should be able to directly download the files without waiting. If the files are not currently available, the .torrent is moved into a queue of torrents to be downloaded by our torrenting cluster (if the same .torrent is not already in the queue from another user). Our torrenting cluster will then download the files, and upon completion, will import them into our mogilefs file system, while also updating the database accordingly so that it knows what files are associated with the downloaded torrent, and so it knows where to get those files and that they are available.

MogileFS functions best with chunks of data under 64GB, so we must segment files for scalability.

Torrented files will be in a special folder in the user’s virtual drive which can only be viewed by the user when logged in. i.e.: to prevent users from sharing links to files in the torrent directory, they must be logged in to get the download links – and to prevent users from sharing download links – only the IP address of the logged in user that generates a link in THAT specific instance will be able to download from that link using their web browser or download manager.

We want users to be able to download multiple files as one .zip file. We have a module for nginx programmed for us that can do this. Upon being supplied a list of files, their crc32′s, and other relevant information that we already have available, this module will create a zip file on the fly to stream to the end user, while also supporting resuming.

In order to finish this functionality, our script needs to let the user decide which files they want to include in their .zip archive they are downloading, and then pass the list of files off to the nginx zip manager when the user tries to download the .zip archive.

The user should be able to select which files to zip from their virtual drive interface.

We will need to be able to ban individual .torrents, or individual actual files, in order to respond to DMCA complaints.

*scalability*
As we plan to be able to quickly support many servers, thousands of users, and many terabytes of files in a system that may or may not properly handle this, load testing and scaling testing will be needed before launch to identify our initial bottlenecks so that we can address them.

Our company is looking for dedicated programmer to set up and later manage affiliates to be tracked via cookies through our Ultra Cart shopping cart (UC).

So we have an e-commerce site which has a shopping cart UC (and this is hosted not on our server). We’d like to track affiliates who send us customers and be able to credit them for the sales that they send. This will be done via a cookie. We will pass the cookie which tracks them first who send traffic to our server, THEN to UC (in checkout) and THEN the same cookie must be passed back to us on order confirm to credit this affiliate.

The project is first to just to implement this so there is robust tracking cookie process for affiliates, which integrates with Ultra Cart.

We’re looking for someone who has ready experience with UC and cookie tracking.

We currently have upload.php script that allows the upload of jpg files to our server. Photos are resized and renamed on upload. We also use viewer.php to view all photos on the server. Viewer.php is written to display all photos in a certain directory.

The Project:

1st – upload.php is code is currently written to where user has to insert one jpg file into one of fifteen boxes then they can upload. Code needs to be rewritten so that there is NOT 15 file selection boxes but ONE browse button where user can select multiple files then select UPLOAD button and photos are uploaded using the same rename and resize code. Also want the file upload status removed from the bottom of the upload boxes and have a file PROGRESS bar instead. MUST MAKE SURE THAT SERVER WILL NOT CRASH USING THE ABOVE CHANGES. I do not mind keeping the same format of uploading the files if you are concerned that the server may crash.

2nd – upload.php script needs additional code added so that jpg file information is stored into a SQL database.

3rd – viewer.php script will need to be rewritten. Need to enter search criteria into a form. Viewer.php will then display jpg photo based on form criteria.

4th – Our server does have mySQL database capability but I do not have CPanel access. I also am not sure what version it is SQL, mySQL, my SQL. I have the database name, USER and PASSWORD for mySQL on our server so that you can write the code to add tables and fields to the database. We will have to test it to validate.

I have attached the current upload.php script and the viewer.php script.

The viewer must look exactly as it does now with the search form in the beginning.

Before escrow is released you must have a location on a server where I can test both the upload.php and the viewer.php scripts.

There needs to be alot of communication between us to get this done correctly but since most of the code is already written this job should not take to long.

Our budget is minimal so high bids will be ignored.

Looking for a batch script to run on our server (Centos 5, PHP 5.1, MySQL 5.0) to upload photos to Facebook user accounts.

The script would run every ~ 1 min via CRONTAB, check the MySQL database that holds reference to the photos on our server and upload any photos that have not been marked as previously uploaded.

The photos would be uploaded to a specified Album in the User Record. If the Album doesn’t exist, it first gets created. If the album has more pictures than the FB limit (Currently 60?), another Album is created with a sequence number appended.

If the photo is uploaded successfully, the row in the database is marked as uploaded (date/time).

NOTES:

- Please make sure you are 100% sure that you have researched the Facebook API and understand the available programming approaches. A good place to start is with the photo.upload API. http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Photos.upload .

- There is NO UI component to this project. This is a batch process that will run on a Centos 5 Server.

- Please indicate what technology/programming language you plan to use. Again, has to be compatible with Facebook API.

- I am not 100% sure that this can actually be done, so let’s not waste valuable time if it can’t be done. (although there are examples of applications that do this type of thing, for example www.pixelpipe.com)

a) Proxy needs to be setup with Squid-Cache (latest version) to a “High Anonymous Proxy”, and in any situation should always show server IP and hostname – (This will be tested if we can view videos on hulu.com)

b) Setup usernames / password to access the proxy

c) Enable socks5 on squid as well.
