Duplicate Folder Names On New Drive: Scripting For Osx

November 6th, 2011 Comments off

I need all folders names and one folder with content (WIP) duplicated (copied) to another directory if it contains WIP directory.
example: /Users/dshleh/folder1/2011/20111005_joesmith/WIP
I need “20111005_joesmith/WIP” with the files in 20111005_joesmith NOT copied over but the files in WIP to be copied over to a new directory.
There are many directories on the drive.

I am running OSX and a Unix script would be acceptable. This should be easy for someone experienced in scripting.

regards,

dshleh

Changes To Python Gui Script

October 19th, 2009 Comments off

I have a python gui script. It’s a relatively simple script that accepts a csv file as input and goes through the file categorizing entries.

It has a gui interface to allow categories and a simple if/then condition logic to allow the operator to define and save categories.

Various exporting capabilities are present.

The application is 95% complete and working well, but there are a few minor bugs to be ironed out. No new functionality is required.

the bugs relate to the system not correctly placing records in correct categories, or duplicating records in more than one category , and deleted entries appearing again at startup.

We want a programmer to debug and fix problems.

Note the original developer was coding it under windows, but it was and is working on mac osx (the python script). The original developer has managed to send me versions that are compatible with mac osx, so you will need to ensure it still works.

It used wx for the gui code.

He only had to make minor alterations to accomodate mac osx, and you do not need access to mac osx, just send me the version and I will test.

I will send the complete source code for you to look at and use when you are selected.

Hi,
i need someone to program a simple application that creates EXS Instrument Files that can be readed by the EXSMKII Sampler from Apples Logic Studio

I want to drag and drop Audio Samples (WAV, AIFF) into the Interface.
I want to set the Rootkey, the Keyrange the Velocity Range and create a EXS Instrument for this samples

I want the source code in objectiv C and the .nib files to costumize the interface.
If you are familiar with the EXS File format this will be a quick job.

Only bid if you know what i’m talking about and if you are familiar with the exs file format.

Thank you and happy bidding

Simple File Backup For Mac Osx

September 25th, 2009 Comments off

Hello,

We require a simple app that runs on a mac. this application needs to allow a user, through a simple admin page, select files of their choice for a daily backup process to an external usb hd.

We don’t want a complicated backup system, just a way of automatically backing up files of our choice on a daily basis.

Backup Script Or Program Osx

June 16th, 2009 Comments off

I need some software to keep my computer backed up. I have found no software that is able to do what I would like.

This might mean writing a script for an existing software like SuperDuper or writing an applescript (Yes, its for OS X) or something like that. Its up to you.

Here is what I need

1. It needs to be able to be set on a schedule. (there might be OS level support for scheduling… not sure.)

2. It needs to keep my regular HD & Media HD in sync with my backup drive.

3. Now, there are certain sections on my drive which I have designated as “backup areas” these areas are not simply synced, but need to be watched every time there is a backup for 2 things. a) if a file does not exist on one of the 2 drives, it needs to be copied to the other. b) if there is a a file in both places, and they are different, a flag needs to come up asking for my attention. (or some way for me to attend to the file) In this case the file will have had some data corruption & I need to determine what file is uncorrupted and replace it with the un-corrupted file.

4.I would like some sort of way to modify the program myself. I have a programming background & could modify something quite easily if it were not compiled or what not. It does not need to be super user friendly is all i am saying.

In summary, there are 3 drives, 2 of which need to be synced to the one. There are 2 types of sync’s that need to be applied to different directories (or drives) One like a regular sync. (Make an exact copy)
The other is to bring to the missing drive a file that does not exist on the other & then compare matching files to ensure they are identical. If not a flag of some kind need to be raised. & someone with basic programming skills needs to be able to modify the program.

Examples of why I would want to modify it is for example, I get another drive & want to incorporate that into my backup system. Or Mac decides to change the directory name of something or such.

An extra step, which I think might have to be quoted separately, is for a MD5 do be made of each file in the “compare” mode and when a file becomes corrupt, the un-corrupted file replace it automatically. Not sure if the price for this will justify how much labor it will save me.

Budget is a concern here, so function over fancy here is a plus.
