Forum/cms Myql Connections

June 28th, 2009 Comments off

I’ve recently experienced some issues with my hosting provider (IPOWER) which is continuously locking my MySQL connections because I’ve reach either the max per user/hour, or the current connections.

It has been frustrating dealing with them to find a solution. So I’m not looking for help.

Basically I’m using 2 applications a CMS (Vivvo) and a forum (vBulletin), and towards the end of the hour, they are both getting locked until the DB connections reset at the end of the hour.

I have tried using multiple users to the DBs, and then in the config files of each application randomly connecting to it, but no luck yet.

I’m looking for either a php code in the application files to avoid this issue, or some type of configuration that I can use in the phpAdmin interface to also avoid it.

Thanks for your time
