Script Multi User / Install

Wanting the elgg script (www.elgg.org) made multisite. Ideally a single install of the script and multi databases, although would consider multiple instances of the same codebase.
Functionality:
Simple signup page – enter username, password, real name and subdomain. Results in a separate elgg site installed at subdomain.mydomain.com. User who signed up is automatically signed up for the site as admin.
