Make Urls Seo Friendly

Site uses the script from answerscript.com. The script has spaces in the urls in between the title words as seen the the example below.
Goal: remove title section of urls and replace with just the question entry number.
Example:
http://www.answertab.com/mardi-gras/What is mardi gras?|47
New urls need to be more seo friendly:
http://www.answertab.com/mardi-gras/47
Current .htaccess file upon request in the message section if it would help with the bid process.
