Hello, I am looking to have a website built that will look and function similarly to http://www.simplyshredded.com/ but will need to be built from scratch (not a clone) and have its own unique look and feel. It (simplyshredded.com) was made from a wordpress script and is hosted by another company…if that helps. This site will be made for the Japanese market so some parts will need Japanese text, which I will provide. We are looking for a person or a team to add multi language functionality to our website. Right now there isn’t language support on the site.
Right now sentence is hardcodes in English in code rather than stored in a language file. Best way is probably to check for language at page load and translate accordingly. Also, user should be able to enter text in any language in all text boxes (classified, forums, blogs, moofs, and so on).
It might be that database doesn’t support characters… (need to fix that).

We are an IT solutions firm in Tokyo and we have several large corporate clients that we manage web sites for aswell as our own productive web sites.

Much of the work is with Japanese language site front ends and data collection however we have Japanese staff and I personally speak, read and write Japanese. We do not expect candidates to understand Japanese but they should be willing to do Google Translate sometimes if required. The programming ofcourse is not Japanese but uses language files.

We are running many web shops in the Zen Framework in both English and also with some that have Japanese in the admin and front end.
We will be collecting data from japanese websites and inserting it into our sites. This is a large portion of the work.

We expect the candidate to have a very good understanding of PHP and MySQL and database design and implementation. We would also expect the candidate to be fully devoted to our work and to check in with us each morning to go over issues or just to say what will be happening for the day and also so we can communicate the work required.

I want to create an iphone app, which will enable users to use the emoji japanese character set.

Do a search on itunes for emoji and you will see the icon character set.

What I want to do is when an user runs the app, it should automatically enable the emoji character set. Right now the users will have to go under settings and enable to manually. I am not sure if this is possible.

If this is not possible, then the app should install the icon set and give clear instructions to the users on how to enable the emoji character set.

After people have enabled it, i should have a “tell a friend” feature that will send a text message to their friends with the emoji character set.

This should be a simple project as the iphone 3.0 already comes with the font and it is not enabled in non-japanese phones.
