Making Simple List Of Domain Ex. 123.com Hyperlink To Itself

May 7th, 2011 Comments off

I have a number of lists of 100′s of domain names that just have the name and the extension without the www. in front. I want to publish the lists online, but I also want the various domain names to be able to link back to their websites without having the www. included. I know it is a simple task, but I have forgotten how to do it. Lists are in Excel and I am using Dreamweaver to design the website. Thanks for your help on this.

Fix Adsense On Php Site

June 12th, 2009 Comments off

Have a site www.currencytoday.ca, which is essentially a one-page PHP script built earlier this year.

Three Adsense ad slots (big box, skyscraper, leaderboard). Everything worked fine until this week.

Changed my Adsense settings to text-only ads for the skyscraper (160×600) and leaderboard (728×90), and I guess it triggered Adsense to crawl my site.

The issue is that for some reason it’s crawling the HOST’s robots.txt file (web2.royaltyservers.com), not the SITE’s (www.currencytoday.ca). All my other Adsense sites work just fine – crawls the robots.txt file in the folder of the site itself.

It’s probably because of where the Adsense code itself is – it’s in an include folder (e.g., currencytoday.ca/inc/adsensexxx.txt) called from the PHP index file. I believe that Adsense crawls the file it’s called from, and the error message in the Adsense diagnostic claims that it was trying to get to this file when it encountered an error, but it describes the file as starting with web2.royaltyservers.com/webshell4/currencytoday.ca/inc/adsensexxx.txt instead of currencytoday/inc/adsensexxx.txt.

In your bid, please illustrate your expertise with Adsense and PHP – ideally in the bid itself. It’s a pain to look separately at the message board in Scriptlance, but if you feel you must, go ahead. Also it’s very hard to keep track of programmers who use the message board but don’t bid, so please try to bid if this is something you really know about.

Lastly, on this one I’m unlikely to choose a bidder with no previous Scriptlance reviews – sorry about that.

Very Simple “loading” Layer

May 26th, 2009 Comments off

I have a script that uses Prototype/Scriptaculous to load up a series of tabs into an accordion set on a homepage we’ve built. The problem is that the total data in the tabs (including hi-res background images) total about 700KB, so as the tabs load you see chunks of each and it looks unsightly.

the whole thing is CSS and lists, so the HTML itself isn’t chunky, it’s really the background images but I can’t do anything about that.

In Flash you can prepend your movie with a loading bar that measures the total size of the movie and loops itself through a function that creates a progress bar, then moves you to the movie itself. I’d like to create that same effect with a “Loading” layer that disappears when the accordion has completed building itself.

I can provide the URL in the PMB so you can view the source code and decide the most appropriate solution. I’m sure it’s as easy as displaying the loading screen at the page startup and having some type of event on the page set the loading display to “none” when the images are all rendered.

Classic Car Competition

Project details

Subject Matter : Classic Car Competition

WebSite Host name : Not yet available

Required Date: Must be ready and fully tested before 18th August 2009 as it will be used extensively on this date at the Tatton Park Classic Car show in Knutsford

Other details: The website will often be accessed using a laptop outside of the home using a mobile phone internet connection or similar alternative, therefore, if this method of internet access is detrimental to the website performance and loading speeds then this should be a consideration in it’s design

I want to be able to make amendments to the site by myself as and when things change or when new competitions are about to start. Therefore I would want to be able to either download the entire site or have a separate backup copy to load onto my own computer.

Inclusion of a no of visitors counter

Inclusion of a no. of entries so far counter

(I want to be able to switch the counters on and off and reset them easily

Customize WordPress Theme

April 19th, 2009 Comments off

The theme chosen is one that is already customizeable in the WP Admin. So, most of the customization will be done in the SETTINGS within the administrator. The only change to this theme will be in the header content itself, all other styles are good.

Theme for WP (Atahualpa 3.3.2):
xxxhttp://wordpress.bytesforall.com/?cat=15

Outside of the Theme’s admin settings – a few template modifications will likely be needed to add the top menu and reposition the RSS Links. Please look over the image attached as well as the theme itself in order to know what is needed for this small project.

The header and site should be 1000px wide, but the gradient image (blue to white) should extend 100% of the browser header area. The header itself is only 250px in height (even though the image sent is 400px). Please make sure that is the way the template is designed.

Flash Animation: Animal & Trap

April 7th, 2009 Comments off

I need someone to create a very simple Flash animation of a fox or other small animal triggering a trap. Please go here to see example:

http://www.jacksoncreekmfg.com/anim_trap.html

See how the fox pushes the bait AWAY FROM ITSELF. I need a second animation on that page that shows the animal pulling the bait TOWARDS ITSELF instead of pushing it forward. The trigger works both ways–either being pushed forwards toward the end of the trap or being pulled backwards toward the trap entrance.

If possible, the animation should show the animal trying to grab the bait with its paw and pull it towards itself.

The animation can look more sophisticated than the one shown; this was done by myself years ago using Adobe LiveMotion and is obviously not professional at all, but does show how the trap works.

You should supply the finished file in SWF format ready for deployment on the web, and no wider than 506 pixels.
