Joomla Site To Generate URL Links so Guests can Invite Other Guests

A Joomla social event website needs an Invitation support so that Registered Users who are on a Guest List for an Event can create and extend invitations to others to attend the Event (provided seats remain available).

Creating Invitations: The Invitation will consist of a URL Invitation Link that the Inviter can copy, paste, and e-mail to a few friends who they want to attend the event.

Accepting Invitations: When someone clicks and the Invitation link, they will be brought to an Event Landing Page that will use the embedded information of the Invitation Link (along with data in the database) to display the name of the person that created the Invitation Link. The Invitee/Guest will have the chance to answer a question to validate that they know the Inviter, Register on the website if they are not already Registered, and be added to the Guest List.

If the Invitee/Guest is already Registered on the website (or Registers during this visit), they may create their own URL Invitation Links.

The database must maintain information to track all Guests back to the User that created the Invitation.

Each Invitation is associated with exactly one Event.

Each Registered User may only create Invitation Links for Events to which they are already on the Guest List.

A Registered User that is on multiple Guest Lists must be able to select the Event for which they want to Invite a Guest before creating the Invitation Link.

Also need capability for system to display to Guest a report and related statics for their attending Guests.

I have got an application running on Facebook. It is a flash game.

The issue is that the work was done but the invitation form comes as a popup, and as such it is blocked by most web browsers. I need you to find another way to introduce the Invitation Form (so that it was not blocked).

If the player that received the invitation clicks on Accept, both these player names will be inserted in a DB table and be redirected to the game window.
The table is ALREADY WORKING, we ONLY need to insert the 2 player names to the table, and they will be able to play after being redirected.

- An invitation disapears after 5 minutes in the Game Invitations list.
- If one of the 2 players logs out, the invitation disapears for the player who is still online.
- When the match starts… The invitation for both players disapear of course.
- Maybe anything more you can think of would be great.

The project would be to add an invitation feature on my website www. POLARGAMMON .com for connect 4.

Actually, the players use an AutomaticMatchMaking system, that automatically find a suitable opponent for them.

What I want now though, is that the players will be able to invite other players that are online, through the Online users list already avaiable on the website.

Next to each player’s name there will have [Invite], players can click this to send an invitation to the other player, the player who receives the invitation will see it through the “GAME INVITATIONS” box which you can also see on polargammon. The invitation can look like (Level)Playername[Accept][Decline]

The received can either accept or decline the invitation. Can be some symbol for accept and an X for decline…

When the receiver accepts, the game pops up. (The game is already created, a flash game).

The invitations should stay in the Game Invitations box until one of the 2 players Logout of the website, and automatically disapear after 5 minutes if the received hasn’t accepted or declined.
The players can accept multiple invitations at the same time, to play more than 1 game at a time.

The statistics also need to be outputted to mysql, which is already working now.

Fast and easy job for someone who knows what he’s doing…

Further, we need to have the invitation.php page to allow a user to enter their username in a provided space and for that username to be inserted into the email content in the config.php file prior to the email being sent out. A variation of this page is also needed. A page that updates the config.php file with the logged in user’s username from our site ( That file is $user) So that version would have an invitation page that would automatically show the username in the field and the user would be asked to only modify it should it be incorrect. A bonus would be to have the user enter his name into a field on the invitation.php page and let us then insert that into the subject and content of the email in the config.php page.
