I have a PHP script that loops though a list and creates subdomains on a unix web host. It works perfectly, although only from the main hosted domain. I’d like it to work from Add-on domain(s).

There is a “change all” process in the code that effects the whole domain – and I’d like it to effect only the add-on domain and subdomains underneath the add-on domain.

This change that will allow me to use the script on multiple add-on domains, creating the same sub-domains under each add-on domain.

As a programmer, but not a php programmer, I took a quick look at the script. This is what I think it does:

The script includes a web form. Once the form is filled out by the user and submitted, the process loops through, creating subdomains and copying html page elements into folders. Then it does a change-all to customize the html text based on data from the form that the user filled out.

I think it should be a pretty easy change if you know PHP and how shared webhosting works with install scripts.

Our company needs a mac version of our software developed. We slightly customized the Limewire open-source software and have a windows installer but need a Mac installer. All the files will be provided, we just need a packaged Mac installer for the software to run on all Mac systems.

Need a solution to be able to quickly install custom wordpress sites.

We setup basically the same site over and over. And have a very specfic set of plugins, templates, core wordpress code changes, and about 5 static pages (privacy policy, terms, etc).

Looking for an installer where we can install our custom setup in the least time possible. (WordPress, our code changes, all plug ins, themes, and databases.)

Usually the only thing that changes on these sites would be the domain, title, tagline and one specific phrase throughout the site.

So ideally, the installer would ask for the host info, new domain, title, tagline and maybe have some kind of sitewide find and replace fuction. We would input the info, click install and our site would be setup.

When completed, we should be able to login, and just add any extra custom graphics, individual contact info, etc.

Installer should have the ability for us to update it as well. Like if we add more plugins to our basic setup, or we want to upgrade to a later version of wordpress after we make sure our core code changes are fixed to work with the latest version.

I bought a PHP Multi-media Autoresponder, I installed it myself, but could not sign-in to the Admin screen. I then hired a script installer to re-install it, and try to fix it. The installer said “the script doesn’t define the username variable”…”the sendpass.php is also messed up; it has a “//” comment argument
before the $username variable”.

That’s all the installer told me.

The installer tried, but could not fix it. I still a copy of the script you can look at…before the installer worked on it.

Here’s the job…do you think you can repair my PHP Autoresponder script??

I need a small application that install fonts on a Windows system. The requirements:

- It should be a console (command line) application that takes one parameter only, and that is the file name (with full path) of the source font file
- It should copy the font to the font directory on the system
- It should register the font so it can be used without restarting
- It should send a WM_FONTCHANGE broadcast message so applications is aware of the new font
- It should store the font in the registry so it remains installed after reboot
- It should work with TrueType and OpenType fonts (ttf and otf files)
- It should check that the font does not already exists before installing it, and only install if the requsted file is newer than the existing one

- It has to be written in Delphi or C++.

This will run on my own server, so PHP modules not an issue. Server is Cpanel with Centos OS. PHP/MySQL 5.

What we need is a script that will be able to auto install other scripts.

Example would be, the user uploads our script then goes to http://their domain/install.php and then it walks them through the process needed to install the script such as database information and upload of database file, what files need what permission and so on.

This script should be able to be changed to work with different scripts so that we can package it with our other scripts.

We have a few programs that need an installer to be created for it. I currently have one made in InnoSetup, but our program has dependencies and therefore I bundle all of those dependencies in the installer. This makes it huge (~280Mb). I need it to be “smart”.

So just a simple installer that will work on XP Pre-SP1 through Windows 7. Earlier OS’s need not be supported.

The dependencies are:
.NET 2.0
.NET 3.0
.NET 3.5
DirectX 9.0c
Windows Installer 3.1

The installer should check to see if the dependencies are installed. If not, it should start an autodownload. I can host all these files or they can be pulled direct from Microsoft, I don’t care I have bandwidth available.

It needs to be able to update the registry (even with Vista and Win7 so admin privledges should be checked for I suppose). There are 2 keys that should be planted that have the location of the installation.

All standard installer features should be implemented such as choosing a path to install it, choosing whether or not to install certain features, and so on.

Also note that some of the dependencies have dependencies. Such as .NET 2.0 requires XP to have SP2, and also requires Windows Installer 3.1 to install. If any of the dependencies or dependencies of the dependencies don’t install, or require something to be installed first, the installer should recognize and do so. So if Windows Installer needs to be installed first, it should install it, reboot and continue installation.

There are 3 programs that need to be placed in the installation directory in seperate folders. One of them needs to be registered as a startup service.

Pretty much everything but the “smart” part with dependencies is already implemented in InnoSetup which you can have as a starting point if you want it. I have attached the current version to this project.

I now have a single php file which when uploaded & run calls all the neccessary files & folders for a php based script which are stored in a specified folder on my server. it then installs the script on the users server.

The php file needs a little modification however, as it it not completing the folder/subfolder structure correctly, and is placing some of the php files it calls from my server in the incorrect folder during the installation.

I require a custom script installer that will install scripts on a remote domain. Basically I need an admin area (unsecured) where I can add the details of each script, such as

- the location of the source files folder outside of the public_html (/home/user/scripts/),

-configeration fields (can be a blob of a form I create in HTML),

- the final URL to display if the installation was successful.

- Any file or folders that require CHMOD

- If script has a database, if it doesn’t then I need to enter finish URL that scripts will header location to.

- After the entry has been added, I then need to see the URL for that specific entry, such as:

http://www.mydomain/installer/index.php?script=8789 (want auto_increment of a larger number like 473)

The script have two components:

1) Administration

- NO SECURITY as will be using .htaccess and my own security protocol, session only to pass variables. Session must use random. Somthing like admin_8754687556

- need to add, edit and delete script entries.

- View installations

2) User interface

Step 1: To start the installation, a user will click on my page that has the link as generated above (http://www.mydomain/installer/index.php?script=8789). This link will lead to a .htaccess protected directory, but I also want the script to check if the referrer is my domain else fail.

Step 1: the page will ask them to enter their domain name where they want the script installed which CANNOT be changed through the entire installation process.

Step 3: the page will ask for the the configeration information for that script and will pass the data either by $key or write to a temporary table. Either or, doesn’t matter.

Step 4: the scripts will then copy the files from the source folder to a temporary folder (outside of public_html) where it will write to the configeration file that will always be config.php in the root of the source folder.

Step 5: the page will ask for the users FTP information. (For this ste, there needs to be a way to enter or detect the type of server the user has to determine the www folder). A drop down box for root public would probably be ok. (ie: public_html, www etc.) I will leave this part up to you.

Step 6: The scripts will then need to upload the files to the users server and insert the domain name and member name (session data I will prvide later), into a table that I can view later in the admin area for installations. (see above)

Step 7: CHMOD files or folders

Step 8: Database and cleanup

- if the script has a database it will run the file: http://www.usersdomain/install.php and delete all files from the temporary folder/remove temp table data (if method used)

- if the script DOES NOT have a database, it will header location set in the admin area.

Site design:

header.php and footer.php files only. Can leave blank other than head and body tags. NO CSS, DESIGN OR USE OF EMBEDDED FONTS ANYWHERE IN THE SCRIPTS!

Payment can be either by scriptlance or paypal. Must work on MY server which is Cpanel. Need the script to be PHP 4/5 friendly, and MySQL 4/5 friendly, so full variables such as $_REQUEST[]/$_POST[]. I retain all rights to the script and programmer will be required to sign a declaration that the script will not be resold either as a freelance project or commercially.
