Install Mysqli Extension Linux

I need an Linux expert to install the Mysqli extension on my dedicated Linux server. I want to make sure nothing gets screwed up so I don’t want to attempt this myself. I would prefer if a backup was done before hand if there is any chance that installing this extension would crash my server.

Install Mysqli On Php5

I have a server that runs php5 as cgi (there is also php4 running on the machine).

For the php5, I need mysqli installed.

Distribution is CentOS release 4.7 (Final)
OS is Linux 2.6.9-78.0.22.ELsmp (SMP)
