Hi, I’d like to hire someone to perform a “fuzzy” text match on two datasets. that is, I have a set of firm names in Data A (as well as “state” and “month”) that I’d like to match to a set of firm names in Data B (as well as “state” “month” and “day”). So I’d like to grab the “day” in Data B for each (Firm Name, State, Month) entry.

All told, I have about 200-400k records in Data A and about 6,000 in Data B. Please note that the firm names in Data A are “messy”. That is, there may be odd spacing, punctuation, some abbreviated, and misspelled words. In a few cases, the text field may inadvertantly contain additional fields (such as a city name). Data B is fairly clean.

I’m flexible, but I’d like to some kind of “probability score” that indicates the strength of the match, as well as the best matched day. I’d like some manual checks to be done to ensure that the matches with high scores look correct.

Specifically, the data looks like this:

This project is to convert an existing Procomm Plus Aspect script application to VB6 or other easily compiled stand-alone code. The existing script is less than 2,000 lines of code and has been attached as three separate files (the *.was and *.inc files) which can be easily read with any text editor. In addition, a flow chart has been attached to show the application logic and how the three files relate.

The script drives a terminal emulation program (Procomm Plus) to emulate a user interacting with a remote server via a modem connection. Arguments are passed to this script from an Access/VB6 application and the results of the script is the download and storage of a *.txt file for subsequent processing by the Access/VB6 application.

The scripts use very basic modem control commands to dial up a remote server’s modem. Once connected, the script does nothing more than respond to prompts from the remote server. The script walks through a series of prompts that ultimately direct the remote system to send system configuration information that is then written to local text files.

As the flow chart shows, the script is divided up into three pieces: ALIPro.was, SWAccess.inc, DLNortel.inc. ALIPro.was simply assigns variables to the calling application’s arguments and sets up Procomm Plus to transmit and receive data via a modem. The SwAccess.inc code is designed specifically to log into a Nortel PBX (the remote server) via various security or access appliances (some of which have not been used in years). The DLNortel.inc (Download Nortel) code is written specifically to download configuration information about various services provided by the PBX. Each of these downloads are accessed via various program calls within the PBX called Loads; hence LD 20, LD 21, LD 23. Each of these Loads prompts the user (this application) with a specific pneumonic to which the user must respond. This dialog continues to the point when the script opens a local capture file. I’m looking for someone to create a professional website banner. It needs to have the following:

I just upgraded from 6.1.4 to 6.1.6, I first upgraded to 6.1.5, then 6.1.6.
Everything went pretty well, but I suddenly started getting an email every ten minutes with an error of:

So I’ve been working to fix that and not sure what I need to do?
Also, I tried to change my profiles to display the “age” of the person as opposed to the DOB. I followed the following guide:

But all it did was triple all the items, and it removed the last login date and I just ended up restoring the original file.

Also, the cupid emails ren’t working appropriately. When you enable it it emails guys about other guys and ice versa, it’s not suppose to do that.

Three Adsense ad slots (big box, skyscraper, leaderboard). Everything worked fine until this week.

Changed my Adsense settings to text-only ads for the skyscraper (160×600) and leaderboard (728×90), and I guess it triggered Adsense to crawl my site.

The issue is that for some reason it’s crawling the HOST’s robots.txt file (web2.royaltyservers.com), not the SITE’s (www.currencytoday.ca). All my other Adsense sites work just fine – crawls the robots.txt file in the folder of the site itself.

It’s probably because of where the Adsense code itself is – it’s in an include folder (e.g., currencytoday.ca/inc/adsensexxx.txt) called from the PHP index file. I believe that Adsense crawls the file it’s called from, and the error message in the Adsense diagnostic claims that it was trying to get to this file when it encountered an error, but it describes the file as starting with web2.royaltyservers.com/webshell4/currencytoday.ca/inc/adsensexxx.txt instead of currencytoday/inc/adsensexxx.txt.

In your bid, please illustrate your expertise with Adsense and PHP – ideally in the bid itself. It’s a pain to look separately at the message board in Scriptlance, but if you feel you must, go ahead. Also it’s very hard to keep track of programmers who use the message board but don’t bid, so please try to bid if this is something you really know about.

Lastly, on this one I’m unlikely to choose a bidder with no previous Scriptlance reviews – sorry about that.

NOTES: The form references a PHP script which pulls in a presenter from a choice of 6 .inc files (which simply have the object/embed code in them) and then one of 6 .inc files which contain the CSS positioning.

I have a deadline of tomorrow morning to complete this so need a fast finish! I will hand over the php script, the .inc files and the FLA file. I need a working SWF file and the corrected FLA.

None of the HTML files need to be changed, just the Flash files.
