I Need Important Info About Usermanagement

Hello,

i need your suggestion about a solution regarding user usermanagement.
i am running a website where user can play quiz.

challenge is:
it should not be possible that 2 user can login with same user data ie. (demo/demo) at the same time.
and now the challenge: cookies should not be used for this system.

example: if john is logged in with data demo/demo, and now on an other machine bill is going to login with data demo/demo, john should be kicked out and bill will be able to play the quiz.
no cookies will be used. is there such a solution? how will it work, i pay for your detailed suggestion which definitely is doable and works.

i appreciate your solution idea. our programmer will then manage it.

Hello!
We are three Swedish gamers who are starting a new website from scratch and we are searching for someone who wants to be a part of it. What we look for is a commited programmer who is selfgoing and can help us with figuring out problems. It’s also important that you have the time and dedication to work hard on this project.
Communication is important, we want close contanct with the programmer so we can follow you in every step.
It would also be a benefit if you are interested in e-sports, particuallry Starcraft II since that’s what this website will be all about.
We have experience in making gaming websites before and we also have good contacts in the world of gaming.

To start with, we want a website similar to Sc2casts-com, with video-linking, vote system, comment fields and a good search function.

The next step will be to develop a community, this will include a big forum with up/down thumb system for posts that will affect the users “forum levels” etc. We will explain all the details we have planned for you.

When the community part is done, we want to have a system with preminum users for locked content. Domain security is also important at this stage.

Logo And Button Design

Hello Super Star Designers,

The star in the logo will also be used as the button to “star” the content. So, it is very important that the logo will look good as a button/icon also.

With that in mind, the design of the star is the most important. The typography will not be near as important when choosing a winner as the design of the star symbol.

The artists of the site are the stars. So, the star symbol must either have the human figure inside of it or represent both a human and a star in another way. Your creativity is key here. The star symbol attached is very good too. You are welcome to clean it up, tweak it, and make it really shine.

It is very important to show how the star button will look when hovering over it with the pointer because it is also a button to vote and favorite content. When hovering, it would look great if sunbeams came out of it or it glowed from behind. Also, please show how it will look when it has been clicked. Please show me the normal, hover, and clicked buttons because their designs all have to match the logo.

In the star symbol attached it looks like the person is reaching for something greater than themselves. I think that is a very powerful image. Can you create a star person that looks inspiring? When a person hovers over the button it should look even more inspiring. Finally, when clicked it should look different to let them know it has already been clicked. The logo can be anyone of these three variations.

The background can be black(space), bright blue(sky), or plain white. The typography can be any color that you see fit.

This logo is extremely important to the success of the community because it will be used over and over as the button to vote for the stars of the website and will hopefully inspire people to become Self Made Stars.

Linkedin-style Portal

A business profile portal for people who are interested to work with social/sustainable business/are working for one already. The technology behind this project is not as important as the nice & clean look and feel. The delivery time is important. The timeframe is max. 2,5 months. Designs will be fully delivered to the developer as .psd (Photoshop) files. No design work required. The functionality does not at all have to be as complex as on Linkedin, the ground functionality and the concept of interconnecting between profiles is most important.

We are subcontracting an E-commerce website to satisfy an URGENT request for a very important client. Advertising is already in place, therefore time is of the utmost importance. However, the quality of the work, and the look of the site is even more important.

The facts of the case:

-It is for a Sporting Goods & Clothing website
-Initially, there will be approx. 50-100 products in the database (this will include multiple styles and colors of the same product)
-The look of the site is “upscale”, but the user interface has to be logical and easy to use.
-We are open to the particular E-commerce implementation, but it should be easy to maintain and scaleable for future growth, and you should have expertise with it
-Product presentation is very important. Potential customers should be able to view product inventory easily by type, color, style, etc
-We have general logo & artwork, but are open to suggestions of colors and overall look & feel of website. Please no out-of-the box ecommerce templated sites. It must be elegant to see and use.
-Web standards are very important: XHTML, CSS, normal compliance is expected, as well as fundamental SEO
-Data for the initial set of store products will have to be pulled from a company PDF file (unlocked). This will include about 40 or so photos and text. Please price this into your project.
-Include in your bid pre-release testing, loading of site onto client’s final server, and 2 months of basic maintenance/ minor consulting (which will be payed as a separate bonus upon completion)

If you bid, please:

-Describe your area of expertise, and a summary of your plan of attack.
-Also state your preferred medium of communication and your general time-availability in local time or in UTC, if not based in the U.S.

Form To Bulletin Board

*Bulletin board system (similar to twitter) = Will be used by our customer service reps

Create a bulletin board that takes information from different forms (We have designed the forms) then displays it on the bulletin board. Also, the bulletin board should be editable as well by the 6 or 7 users.

The way it works is customers fill out the information using an online form consisting of 6 questions, (representing their order) then when they click “submit” the information is outputted on a bulletin board, (similar to twitter, except smaller print so more information can be presented on one page.)

Each member of our team of 6 are in different parts of the globe with different computers. Each member will read the bulletin board, fulfill the orders then cross them off the list. This should be done by clicking on a checkbox located next to each entry on the bulletin board.

There also is a secondary form which our customers can access at any time, and if they put in their email and more information, it will over write what they put in before.

The most important thing is the first form mentioned, and the presentation of the information on the bulletin board. It must be formatted in an organized way so it can be read easily.

We also have a “domain name” form as well, this should “update” the bulletin board as well.

Basically, you need to take an output from HTML forms and using PHP scripting, posting this inputted information.

The coder should:

1. Create a web form using the ones we designed and prepared.

2. Create a database to save the form inputs

3. Create a page to display all of the database stored inputs

4. Ability to recognize this information and display it on a web page

5. Must include delete option, edit option, and add option, etc functions as well.

We have a significant budget for an experienced coder who will work with us closely over the next week to make sure this system is perfect.

custom template design: someone with exceptional graphic design skills to create a unique template to suit the domain name and niche. the design has to be:- urban – ghetto- hip-hop – bling – pimped – with a smart clean stylish and up-to-date design something that is going to stand out and bring a wow factor to the forum. image is important and the design really does need to be something special.

VBclassifieds: i really need an auction added to the forum and i know that VBclassifieds is unavailable for purchase at the moment. I know VBay is a free modification but i need the auction to have all the functionality it would possibly need.

VBadvanced: content management system to integrate the forum into a home page.

Moddifications: someone with a good understanding of forums will know that functionality is important so i need all the moddifications you would expect for both members and administration.

phpbb: i would like the phpbb converted to vbulletin, i have the convertion sorftware but i would prefer someone more knowledgeable than myself to do the conversion

Psd To Html Website

Hello,
i need a layout converted from PSD to HTML.
The most important thing is that the html files should be opened and edited into a WYSIWYG-Editor like dreamweaver or netobjects.
NO CMS NEEDED!!! I just want to edit the layouts in WYSIWYG editors.
Thats why the graphics should be expandable dynamically. What i mean is, when you look at the screens, you will norice that the content is
this gray boxes. So when i add more text in one of the boxes, the whole box should expand automatically.
So i guess, it should not be tableless coding, because this editors show tablessless html somehow displaced.
I think plain table-html will do it.

Another important thing is, that the design needs to be 100% pixel peferct. So when i switch between the menus later in the html layout, all grapfics should be in the same place.

This will be the navigation structure. I have tried to explain in the brackets some important things you should know.
- HOME (This menu will include beside static content a rss feed under the name ‘NACHRICHTEN’)
- WHO WE ARE
- WHAT WE DO (Some boxes have a blue button underneath the text. This is a more button.)
- EVENTS
- ONLINE SERVICE (You will see in the screenshot 2 submenus: ‘Online Tools’ and ‘Formulare’.
Online Tools will contain several online calculators, mostly done in javascript. So you can just do one layout and i will add all others later with copy and paste – because they all will be similar. You don

The details of this website design project, are as follows :

Our client is a company in the medical / health industry that specializes in providing stroke rehabilitation training/education to sufferers of stroke and there caregivers using various media forms such as DVD, Books, etc.

We are looking for an elite photoshop professional to create a highly stylised website design and layout in photoshop ( .psd ) format with a ‘ world class ‘ level of design.

The primary areas of the website design we require are structured as follows :

1 ) Home Page
2 ) Splash Page
3 ) Section Page

As you can see from the attached files we have already created a logo for our client and have established a colour scheme that we are happy with. Other design elements we have established and would like included in the website design are logo, colour scheme, photo’s, statements etc. All are included in the attached files to this post.

The successful photoshop designer for this project must create a unique, detailed and visually stunning website design and be prepared to initially create many different sample designs, ideas & options for us and our client to choose from.

The first area of focus for this project is the ‘ Home Page ‘ draft design. At least 10+ different home page draft designs must be presented to establish the style, design and look that we are happy with. Once we have found the homepage design that is liked by my client and ourselves and we have worked with you to finalise it, then the Splash and Section page templates must be created that ‘ style wise ‘ are uniformed with the homepage design and are also visually awesome.

IMPORTANT NOTE : Only when we are happy with the homepage draft design will the project continue. Problem: My company wants to promote in hi5 but it’s hard to add people for publicity (too much time lost) and it’s an hassle to send profile comments or messages.

Idea: Hi5 has a search functionalities for profiles: http://hi5.com/friend/processBrowseSearch.do

Solution: I want you to do a script/application that:

- Search and list people with certain parameters like age, country, city, etc.

- Be able to add (send friend requests) massive number of profiles in function of those parameters.

- The profiles already added shouldn’t appear. The organization is fulcral here.

- We’re talking about around 1 million of profiles in total. You need to analyze the hi5 plataform so you can know how much people can be added per minute/houur/day so hi5 don’t close mine account for spam. This part is very important so you can maximize everything.

- Extra but very important:
Be able to send personal messages (one by one not group messages so it won’t go to “others folder” or to spam, but you need to know this kind of things by yourself). If possible the messages should have html.
This message should be writed in the application and with preview option. It should have a list of people already sended so it won’t send two times, and the private profiles should be marked has “can’t send” and should be easy to resend again when they accept the hi5 friend request.

- The script should be capable of working with large number of profiles ( hi5′s to add ) and very fast.

- Like you see the organization is the most important thing, everything should be in tables or in a way very intuitive to distinguish from sended requests, not able to send and resend, and everything else.

I am looking to recreate http://www.printwize.co.uk/items/ but with these specifics:

The site should be absolutely dynamic and driven from a MySQL database, either with a PHP or RoR engine powering it.

**IMPORTANT** The site should be re-deployable, so should have a single config file and an SQL dump that can be loaded onto any MySQL server. There should be an empty file system I can use as a package.

**IMPORTANT** I should be able to clone an empty site on another server within 5 minutes, just like setting up a new wordpress site.

The site should also use an engine that will parse templates, but NOT smarty or anything similar. It must be able to read pure .html files our designer creates that contain tags wrapped like this: %%TAG_NAME%% or ::TAG_NAME::

I have an example of the kind of template engine I will want here: http://www.devshed.com/c/a/PHP/Building-a-Template-Parser-Class-with-PHP-Part-II/

This would need to be checked for security flaws, and should be modular, I would like to be able to turn template caching on or off from the backend.

The working site should consist of these primary features:

**FRONTEND (CONTENT AREA)** Should be a lot like the structure of http://www.printwize.co.uk/corp-index.htm

This will need to be configurable from the backend, and any number of pages and categories should be added. **IMPORTANT** I do not want you to base the backend application on a prebuilt backend framework or CMS engine. The development needs to be unique and new code.

Modules such as News, Offers etc should be able to be called into a standard HTML page templates in the content system by using custom tags such as %%NEWS%%, %%NEW_PRODUCTS%%, %%SPECIAL_OFFERS%% etc.

**FRONTEND (CATALOGUE AREA)** Should be a lot like the structure of http://www.printwize.co.uk/items/

Each category (see left hand menu) should be able to be added from the backend and configured in a very simple manner. It should be able to contain products or be a direct link to an actual product – Compare “Business Stationary” with “Business Cards” for an example.

On the product page, see http://www.printwize.co.uk/items/folders/18/ and http://www.printwize.co.uk/items/businesscards/12/, a pricing matrix should be set up from the backend, in a very easy to configure method. You will notice quantity breaks and options vary from product to product so these should be configurable per axis, per product.

This should be editable on one screen, so we should see an editable table of each price where we can simply fill in each box with a price.

**BACKEND** This should be easy to use. Anybody should be able to log in and use it without extensive training. I would like it to more or less the same as the Interspire Shopping Cart backend, please go to http://www.interspire.com/shoppingcart/godemo.php and take a look at the control panel demo.

The file structure should be modular like WordPress, plugins, templates and system files should be seperate. The templates must be put into a flat directory structure and must have conventional, fixed names so that the template engine can read them. Our designer should just be able to FTP new files up to that directory with our own designs.

The backend should have SEO features for naming pages, and must have an option to enable .htaccess URL rewriting so URLS can have a similar structure to the Printwize site. This should work without .htaccess as default, using unclean URLS.

We then need these optional modules that are seperate from the main site, but can be installed by dropping packages into the Plugins folder.

Some of our sites will need ecommerce at various degrees.

**MODULE** Account based catalogue.
From the frontend, a module could be called into the template, %%LOGIN%%, calling a login/signup area. On signup, new users should be put in a guest holding group.

From the backend, we should be able to approve these new signups and assign them to groups. Based on groups, we should be able to configure custom pricing grids for each product. This will need the options “Fixed Price”, where a completely new grid is created for them on a product, “Percentage discount”, where the original grid is reduced or increased by a set %, or “Fixed ammount discount” where everything is reduced by X ammount. This needs to be configurable PER PRODUCT, i.e some may have a Percentage discount, some may be a fixed price, and others may have a flat rate reduction.

We should be able to create user groups and place multiple signups into this group which receives the set discount, to allow many users from one company to see the same discount.

We also may need to create custom categories and/or products that only CERTAIN groups can see once logged in.

Once approved and configured from the backend, we also need to give these users “View only” or “Ecommerce customer” options. This will be USER based, NOT GROUP BASED. Whether we see this option depends on whether we have the next module installed.

**MODULE** Ecommerce system

This will be split into sub modules.

Main module – AJAX shopping cart. When you look at a product matrix on the frontend, if ecommerce is switched on in the site, a user will be able to click the chosen price in the grid, and using AJAX methods, they will see an option screen appear which will let them see the chosen product/qty (remember the qty is chosen on the grid) and give them a choice to add to the basket or cancel and re-choose.

This screen will also have a file upload box that they must use to add a file. We should be able to set up what file extensions we will allow from the backend. There should be a progess bar that will display during upload, and it should handle large (up to 50mb) uploads without timing out.

The customer should be able to choose to upload at a later time, on the checkout screen.

This screen should also pull in an extra module should it be enabled:

**MODULE** Finishing options.
Each product should be able to have finishing options configured, e.g. trimming, folding, paper weight, etc. These should be reusable on all products but be able to include unique price identifiers.

**MODULES** Ecommerce options.
We need to independantly configure our sites to have one or more ecommerce options.

The most basic option will be Account based payment. We will receive orders; the customer will simply enter a purchase order number when they place them.

As a seperate module, we should be able to use instant payment. This system should give three payment options, and we should be able to choose one, two or all three options: Paypal, Google Checkout and SagePay (Formerly Protx).

Each should be able to be configured from the backend by entering appropriate account details. We should not have to change config files to make it work.

Again, each of these modules should be installable by adding a package to the plugins folder, and each module should be packaged so that we can use them independantly.

This project will start moving within 2 months of receiving a suitable quote.

We would expect you to provide clean, standards based code, completely commented so we can if necessary continue development.

We would expect a warranty and support on the product, and would need you to sign the code over to us, copyrighted to our company, with a guarantee that you will not resell it to another company.

Should the project be successful, we would like to start a working relationship with you to develop more modules.

We do not need frontend design, just some basic example files that contain the appropriate template names and tags.

Our client is a company in the medical / health industry that specializes in providing stroke rehabilitation training/education to sufferers of stroke and there caregivers using various media forms such as DVD, Books, etc.

We are looking for an elite photoshop professional to create a highly stylised website design and layout in photoshop ( .psd ) format with a ‘ world class ‘ level of design.

The primary areas of the website design we require are structured as follows :

1 ) Home Page
2 ) Splash Page
3 ) Section Page

As you can see from the attached files we have already created a logo for our client and have established a colour scheme that we are happy with. Other design elements we have established and would like included in the website design are logo, colour scheme, photo’s, statements etc. All are included in the attached files to this post.

Animation examples are a plus. This project must be complete within three (3) weeks, inclusive of the revision process.
Note that we are an established company with 10 years of web retailing experience.
Design in this project will be equally important to coding. The same basic visual structures will be utilized on most all pages of the website to frame the product listings, but there will be need for enhancements and differences within some of the interior pages. Insertion of the proprietary shopping cart and products will NOT be the responsibility of the winning bidder as we will handle that aspect in-house.
Of primary importance is a fast load time of 3 to 5 seconds AFTER we have incorporated the shopping cart. While we do want good design, this must be balanced with white space and file size to have a quick load time on standard computers. The page must also load properly, in a way that is visually pleasing and not scattered or disjointed during the loading process. Aditionally, it is important that the design include space for us to insert text in several areas of both the home page and interior pages. We will insert, remove, and edit this text in Dreamweaver from time to time.

Collect Data To Excel

I need to collect details about all of the ski resorts in the world. There are about 3000 ski resorts that I need to collect data for. You will need to identify all of the ski resorts, collect the needed
information and put the information in a formatted Excel document (provided).

The Excel file is the formatted Excel file you will use to collect the data. Each ski resort will have its own row, and each data element will be in the appropriate column. Columns which have a yellow header are required to have data in them for each ski resorts. The other columns should have data, but it is not always available. The numerical measurements should be in English units (ft, miles). If the data you collect is metric, then you will need to hand convert it to English. A very important piece of data is the
latitude and longitude, if you can not find this data then you can use http://geocoder.us to get the lat/long based on the ski resort’s address. For all fields make sure you do not copy HTML into the
column; this is very important! For the Resort Overview and Directions fields; you should not directly copy the content from another website. Also, you should get the data for those text fields from several websites to ensure a broad and fair coverage.

The 2nd text file contains a list of useful ski resort websites with some of the data I need to collect. Beyond these sites you will need to find your own sources of data. The best source of data is the ski
resort’s official home page. Data should be taken from the official website when possible.

The deliverable will be a filled in Excel document with all of the ski resort data. You should collect data for every ski resort in the world. The quality of the data is VERY important; I will be checking the data for its accuracy before payment is submitted.

The project should be accomplished strictly according to the specification of the project.

P2p Voip

Hello,

This is more of a development test project so the end result does not have to be an entirely pretty polished interface, but a working example. (very low bandwidth use is important, only for voice on VOIP not music, so keep it as low as possible using lowest codecs)

The goal is to create a P2P VOIP appliction in visual basic, that will also allow IM and file transfers (small pictures). The system should have an address book, and open channels which are essentially like radio channels. as well as the VOIP ability to call an individual.

So the system would work as follows, when started there would be a default ‘Channel’ which is like a big confrence room that each peice of software is set to. So that when you communicate through VOIP on that ‘Radio Channel’ like a CB radio everyone can hear that. There should be the ability to create an unlimited amount of ‘Channels’ with any name required. so for example an event could be given a new channel and it could either be an open channel that anyone can join. or a passworded channel.

When someone joins that channel, any IM message / Broadcast message which is not specific to one person gets sent to everyone on that channel through P2P, as with file transfers. The system should be encrypted.

In addition there should also be the ability to have an address book, so if users were not on a channel, or they wanted to talk to a specific person they could use that VOIP call that would be direct to that person, not in the confrence call.

Another feature would be the ability to ‘listen’ into multiple ‘Confrence’ calls. So in essence there would be multiple radio channels much like a CB and the software can be told to monitor one channel, which might light up on the screen when talking comes up on that one, and have the radio set to monitor and talk on another channel.

One other feature is there would be two versions of the software, one mobile and another a server like desktop version. So the mobile software can all commuincate to eachother even if the server is not there, but the mobile can also communicate with the desktop software which would have more messaging abilities, and more administrative abilities in setting up mobile nodes and the likes.

Another important feature is the ability to updates to the software to be distributed automatically from the desktop version.

In terms of software, the mobile versions would all be on a big LAN, and desktop versions most likely on WAN so some ability to communicate would be important between the two, even if the mobile versions send a register command to the WAN desktop servers to get lists of who is on, radio channels, information and then update that information so that if connection is lost they can still function.

Keepiong budget to a minimum is important as well as its a trial idea build not a finished project, and i would need copies of all source code and visual basic project files so i could modify that if needed.

You can use existing open source VB solutions if they help achieve the end goal, but basically i want the end application to be all in one, not an application that interfaces to an existing softphone or something, it needs to be in the app.

One other important feature would be to allow for at least in desktop software logins with different permissions (eg use, settings, supervisor, guest) and that all the desktop consoles have an ability to link up automatically with each other and the mobile software somehow.

In addition a transactions database should be maintained within the software so that logs of messages / files being sent are kept as well as calls being made etc so stats can be provided and logs are kept in a database of some sort.

System needs to be true VOIP P2P, so would be able to function without a server being present. But if a server (being any desktop software) was present, it would detect it and get all channels, settings, information and retain that in case the server disappeared.

Cant rely on the server though, each software node needs to be able to broadcast to discover both LAN and WAN nodes and list those and their status and information in like a buddy (or present nodes) list, not have to enter IP addresses. Kind of like DHT i think.

Either way it needs to be meeting the requirements of above, and i guess idiot proof in that it cant require servers, or users to enter IP addresses, should just work.

Whilst it cant require servers, it can download information from desktop systems to get more information about other nodes, both in internal and external networks, but it should keep copies of those tables so if the desktop nodes are not present, it has the ability to find nodes in the private network, or on the WAN.

I guess it is really client-less, all nodes become super-nodes in the DHT sense.

Mods To Cgi Search Script

Hi, thanks for looking at our project!

We are an auto classifieds web site. The web site’s search feature is run by a very simple perl script (search.cgi, attached) which queries the vehicle data that is contained in a tab-delineated, text flatfile database (not sql). The script returns results into an HTML “match template”, or a “nomatch” page if there are no results. The query is passed through the search URL. It’s very simple.

You can see an example of how this currently works by going to http://www.autopages.com/ and typing an automotive search term into the search box at the top.

Here’s what we need — we would like to to add several new capabilities to this search script:

1.) a “sort by” feature at the top of search results, that allows users to sort results by year, price, etc.

2.) Links for search results pages. In other words, if there are 32 records found in a search, and results are returned 10 per page, the results page should be able to have links to page 2 (results 11-20), page 3 (results 21-30), and page 4 (results 31-32). On any given page, the current page number should be displayed as a non-link, and the other pages should be displayed as links. This is something very typical, of course.

3.) If any vehicle in the search results contains “F” in column 11 of its record in the database, an icon should be displayed on that record in the search results. Any record that does not contain “F” in column 11 should not display this icon.

4.) Finally, we would like to have an “add to favorites” feature. Every record displayed in the search results should have a link that, when clicked, causes it to be added to a “favorites” list for that site user. We would like to do this the simple way, with cookies, NOT with a login system. There should be a “favorites” page that can be accessed through a link, and on this “favorites” page, the listings should contain links that allow them to be removed from the favorites list.

So, that’s it — those are the four things we need.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
I realize that all of this can be done easily by simply replacing the search script with a new one — there are hundreds of scripts with these features already written, and available for free. However, what we need is for OUR script to be modified with these new features. The reason for this is that, although it’s simple, our script contains many small functions that are customized to our site and very important — for example, it rewrites photo URLs, constrains overflow text, reformats prices, etc.

So, it’s important to us to retain our current script. We just want these new features added on to our current one. So please, no replacement scripts.

The attached archive (files.zip) contains the search script (search.cgi), the setup file (setup.pl), the database (database.exm) and the match template, so you can see how it all works. It’s very simple.
