Facebook-like Web Site

April 9th, 2011 Comments off

This is a project which will require a great amount of effort and passion, and I need help doing it. The project is a facebook like page, in combination with an igoogle type interface. Users would sign up for the service, and create their portfolios. Users should be able to customize their portfolios with web apps (igoogle homepage style.), upload pictures, and allow for comments. It also should contain a purchase service like paypal, and allow Users to use that service to sell their merchandise. Basically, it would be like amazon, google and facebook had a baby.
The Idea is that Users would be able to set up a business, or simply a portfolio website without going through the hastle of creating and finding a host for themselves.
To put things a little more in perspective, imagine an artist, this artist would open up their homepage and have an igoogle looking interface customized to his or her needs. by looking up “artists” on a search engine, people would see the artists page and would see a profile of the artist, information, and works. they could purchase any of those works without ever leaving the page, or send an email or message regarding the work, or leave a comment on an inpiring work. Thats the basic idea, let me know.

Need Igoogle Gadget Xml File

July 28th, 2009 Comments off

I’m working with a company that needs a iGoogle gadget written in XML.

They currently have a customizable JavaScript widget building page that allows publishers (affiliates) to easily customize the widget’s colors, text, suggested search terms, and size, and insert the widget onto their websites (for referral commissions).

The widget allows users to search for items, and after submitting the search query on the widget, the users are taken to a new window with items for sale displayed with the publisher’s affiliate link embedded in the page’s code.

I need to convert this widget to XML and be able to customize it the same way I can in the current javascript/html form.

This shouldn’t be too hard for a good programmer, as the framework for what I need is already there (and obviously will be provided). I just need it available and customizable in a Google-friendly format, which is XML.

Questions? Just ask.

Igoogle Gadget Required

March 30th, 2009 Comments off

Hi I’m Simon the webmaster of FreeMagicTricks4u.com a website teaching magic tricks to enthusiasts.

I am looking to get a Google Gadget created to first and foremost promote my magic trick tutorial videos. Possible one after another or one per day.

This is the need at it’s most basic but I would also like to include these options depending on cost and whether it is actually “dooable”.

1. Stream my tutorials – (either from YouTube or my self hosted videos)
2. Second tab on the gadget to stream my RSS feed
3. Third tab to show a card trick (all that is needed on this page is a static page with a scroll bar)
4. Final tab to be a sign up box to my newsletter

Finally I would like a banner advert running along the bottom of the gadget, this would promote my products or show Google ads etc.

If streaming video is too complex to achieve I guess I could have static images of each trick, one per day which then links back to my site. Ideas welcomed!

There are a couple of similar Magic Trick Google gadgets out there but they do not seem to be working properly and/or maintained.

Obviously the winning bidder should have previous experience in creating Google Gadgets which I would need to see.

Any graphics needed will be supplied by me. Please have a look at the attached brief to get a better idea of what I am after.

When bidding on this project please give a detailed break down on what your bid actually includes. eg streaming video or static images, all tabs one tab etc, so I can compare bids like for like.

Thanks in advance!
