The end result of the query is to find the total number of invoices for previous months in a database for anyone who has an invoice in the current month.

Database is 600K records

Currently my query goes like this:

Find the Contact_id for everyone who has an invoice in the current month.

Make an array out of that list. Typical result is doing to be around 5K Ids.

Then I do a ‘for each’ in php that then looks up the total count of invoices for each of those Ids where the data is before the end date of the query (i.e. last day of the current month)

I then total up all of the invoices and divide by the number of contact_ids.

My current setup works, BUT it takes probably 20 minutes to run, which is too long for my taste. I’m sure there’s a better/faster way. Help me find it

We would like you to log into our account, and then click on each of our friends individually, and copy down a list of all their friends IDs. Once you have copied the list and saved it, you repeat the process for the next person.

We are an auto classifieds website whose vehicle data is stored in a large tab-delineated text flatfile database, called database.exm, which is queried by a simple search script. Each record in our database has a unique ID, in column 10 of that record. A typical recordID looks like this: 5st_F5525P

What we need is this:
A script which adds a random, unique 5-digit ID number (i.e., 33674) to each record (in column 31). This script should have its own separate database (let’s call it DB.txt) with just two columns — one column consisting of these 5 digit numerical IDs (let’s call them 5DNIDs) and the other consisting of the database.exm recordIDs of the records they correspond to.

Set up as a cron job, the script should refresh all records every day as follows:

For new records (i.e., records whose recordIDs are not in its DB.txt database) it should generate a new, unique 5DNID, save this in DB.txt alongside the recordID of that record, and then write the 5DNID in column 31 of that record in the database.exm. The first time the script runs, all records will be “new records”.

For current records (i.e., ones whose recordIDs are already present in its DB.txt database) it should write the correct corresponding 5DNID for each record in column 31 of that record in database.exm.

We also need two more quick things:
1.) A separate script which compares the recordID column of DB.txt with the recordID column in database.exm, and deletes all records in DB.txt that are not in database.exm.

2.) A .htaccess mod rewrite which takes any URL in our home directory that is an integer (i.e., http://www.autopages.com/24149) and plugs that integer as a string into the URL of a search query (i.e., autopages.com/search.cgi?input=24149)

One last thing … we need this working within 24 hours, hopefully.

I know that there are more elegant ways to accomplish what we’re asking for, but this is the best solution based on the way the scripts on our site work together.

I need a web-based script that would allow users to create an account in a members backend. The member’s backoffice gives my member the ability to enter their own unique affiliate IDs from sites like ClickBank and others into the appropriate fields to append/replace the IDs that their referral visitor are directed to after clicking a link from our site.

The front-end works like this:
1. Member signs up and enters in unique affiliate IDs into backoffice
2. Member uses my affiliate link to refer visitors to our site
3. My affiliate link places a cookie/IP tracking on the visitor’s computer by our system
4. Visitor clicks on a link from our site (ie. domain.com/23/link3.html or.php)
5. System recognizes the unique link assigned that the visitor clicked, system then replaces my affiliate ID before redirection with unique affiliate ID of referring member assigned by visitor’s cookie/IP (ie. XXXXX.yoursite.com becomes member-AFF-ID.yoursite.com)
6. Visitor is then redirected to the appropriate website using the Member’s unique affiliate link for that site, replacing ours.
7. Member earns affiliate commissions upon sale from 3rd party affiliate program
8. I earn nothing from the members referred visitor

The Admin interface should allow me to easily create new links to redirect(ex. 23/link4.html or .php) and the destination link to be rebranded using the backend cookie redirection script. It should also allow me to add additional fields to member’s backoffice pages(universally) when new affiliate links are added.
