Cron Job + Php Modification (ical)

December 13th, 2011 Comments off

I am running a 3rd-Party program called “Hitappoint” on one of my client’s websites.

The program is running fine, but I need to make two quick modifications (ideally within the next hour)…

1) CRON JOB
The program includes instructions for setting up a cron job, but I have never setup a cron job before, so I’m not sure I did it right. This part is probably really easy.

2) iCAL TEMPLATE
The program sends an “ical” file along with every email notification. The ical attachments are comi…

Scrobble To Ical

I am looking for someone with knowledge of PHP, XML and iCAL to create a PHP script that will be housed on my LAMP server to automatically (via cron) check with Last.fm every 10 minutes and using any new tracks it finds, create an appointment in my Google Calendar that reflects the track info, and is the duration of that track. This can either be done by creating an iCal public feed that I can subscribe to in Google Calendar (preferred), or by directly authenticating to my Google Account to create the calendar event. You can use a Last.fm API Account that I will provide to access this data, or you can easily get your own API here: http://www.last.fm/api/account. The first time the script is run, it will have hundreds or even thousands of tracks to grab to get the entire history into the calendar. After this, it should only grab tracks that have not yet been entered in the calendar (note that a way to keep track of what has been entered will be required). I can provide a MySQL database if it will help.

The following Last.fm API can be used to gather [name], [artist], [date] and [album]

Apple Ical Alarms & Colors App

Apple iCal Alarms & Colors App

My client needs an application written for Mac OS X (Must run on OS X 10.5 and OS X 10.6) that will run in the background and read iCal’s current alarms and their associated appointment colours. It will then write to a file which it will continously update at regular intervals as it polls iCal. The interval needs to be user defined in seconds from 1 to 99. The values in the file need to be Hexadecimal values in the format RRGGBB.
For example: White = 000000, Black = FFFFFF

AppleScript would probably be the quickest and easiest language for this job.

If there is more than one current iCal alarm active, it will write all of them underneath each other with CR+LF (carriage returns and line feeds) to separate them. The order is not important. So if iCal has three reminder alarms currently on, the file will look as follows (ignore the comments in brackets):

00FF00 (for a green calendar appointment alarm)
FF0000 (for a red calendar appointment alarm)
00FFFF (for a cyan calendar appointment alarm)

When an alarm has been dismissed in iCal, it will disappear from the file on it’s next update.

When there are no appointments, the file will exist, but all it will contain is a CR+LF and EOF marker.

The source code of this application or script needs to be made available in case of further development.

This file will be read by another application which will be then used to send triggers to a simple DMX lighting controller. The details of this will be available in a separate project which is phase 2.

Csv & Ical File Creator

Hello,

I want to have a php script where someone can enter in a start date and time and the script will create a 90 day schedule which can be imported by csv to Outlook or iCal.

I have the 90 days of activities. They should be able to choose the output type of CSV (outlook) or iCal and it will generate a file for them to save.

I know this script is pretty easy I just don’t have time to build it myself. Limited budget for this. Will not do escrow been burned already.
