Subdomains On Hosting Account

We need a script to allow sub-domains to utilize and display pages from the primary domain directory (using symlink?) Sudomains are for the registered users/affiliates. When a person visits the subdomain (e.g., theuser.ourwebsite.com), they see the exact same site as the primary one except for a few areas where registered user’s name is also displayed. If an order is placed through a subdomain, this also gets recorded in the db. The idea is not to recreate and upload the entire set of main site files into subdomain directory.

This needs to be done without SSH access and no access above public_html level. We need to get a solution today. Thanks.

Auto Create Hosting Accounts

I have an online site builder script installed on my server. I have people sign up for accounts so they can use it to create their websites.

I signed up for a domain and hosting reseller account.

I would like to include hosting with my site builder account.

Right after signup, members are taken to a control panel. I’d like a link that says “set up hosting account” or something. When they click on it, they will be asked to type in their desired domain name.

A real time check will be made (using my domain reseller account) to see if the domain is available. If yes, then proceed to register it and create a new hosting account (using the existing package) in my reseller WHM.

When this account has been created, the hosting account details will be copied to the sitebuilder database, so that the member can use the site builder with his hosting account.

Import A Mysql Database

April 16th, 2009 Comments off

I have a database that is 19MB in size. I need it imported into my 1and1.com hosting account in a database that I have already set up. I have tried and failed.

First, the import utility in myPHPadmin only accepts a maximum file size of 8MB. I then zipped up the file and attempted to import it and got MySQL errors.

Second, I tried a direct copy and paste of the data into a query box in myPHPadmin and that only locked up my computer.

The really frustrating part is that the exported database is from a 1and1.com hosting account and I’m trying to import it into a different 1and1.com hosting account. Unfortunately, their tech support could not help me and wanted me to send their higher level tech support an email.

I don’t have time for this and need someone that knows MySQL and myPHPadmin really well. A good programmer could probably have this figured out in 15 minutes or less. I can’t. That’s why I need you. I figure it’s an easy $50 bucks for someone that knows what they’re doing.
