Online Dictionary/glossary

January 5th, 2012 Comments off

I would like to create an online dictionary website.

Requirements:
- Language of site content will be English
- Web-based content management system CMS that allows me to easily search, modify, add, and delete terms and definitions from a database (ability to batch modify, add, and delete would be nice if possible)
- I should be able to convert a data file (like XLS, CSV, or something you recommend) to a database that the CMS can access (this is for initial seeding of dictionary terms and …

Glossary Needed For Website

November 30th, 2009 Comments off

I’m trying to expand a glossary for an online adult oriented website. I currently have a glossary of approximately 4,000 words and would like to expand it to 10,000 words.
What I need is someone to expand the glossary by copying and pasting 6,000 relevant words (that I currently DO NOT already have) from www.wikipedia.com or any other website or resource that DOES NOT have copyright restrictions. Within wikipedia, once you search on one word, that page is full of other relevant words. So, all you need to do is continue to click on the additional words and exhaust the relevant words or get to 10,000.
The format is as follows:
1. I need the words in Microsoft Word and Excel. The version in Excel must include an appropriate disposition of either Medical, Slang, Toys, Other.
2. The word must be followed by a “:” semi-colon then a space.
3. All footnotes and footnote references must be removed.
4. Only the definition should be included, NOT the additional history, descriptions, or anything that is not specifically adding value to the definition of the word.
I’m looking for words in the following categories:
5. Sex slang
6. Medical terms about reproductive organs in both males and females
7. Sexual lifestyle
8. Sex toys
9. Sex positions
10. Sexual health
11. Sexual orientation
12. Any other words or terms that are indicative of anything in the adult or pornography industry
I’ll supply the current list of terms to as an example of the types of words needed.
This is a pretty simple project, I just simply don’t have the manpower to get it down.

Ongoing Copywriting Work

We require an experienced writer to produce 50 detailed glossary-style word definitions each week over a period of at least 6 months. Each of the 50 entries must be 500 words or longer and must be optimized to contain at least 10 instances of a particular set of related keywords for the purpose of search engine optimization. Interactive Flowcharts

June 21st, 2009 Comments off

I have created several flowcharts in Flash, and I need a way to interactively interface with them.

I want to use to following to scripts, which I will give the winning bidder when the project begins:

1. Pan/Zoom Script
http://flashden.net/item/zoom-pan-controls-with-dynamic-image-settings/15713
2. Glossary Script
http://flashden.net/item/cool-xml-glossary-as2/32811

Both scripts use XML, and will allow me to move around my flow charts and bring up definitions for certain buttons in my flow charts.

In addition, I need a way to load external swfs into the main movie and pan/zoom/interact in those. Also, I need to create another category in the glossary XML file for alternate/special definitions (that would not be visible in the glossary itself).

I’ve spent many hours representing the functions and requirements of this project visually. The instructions include general functionality, glossary functionality, and a GoTo functionality (so that the user can pan to to certain areas in an swf at the click of a button.)

I’ve also included some example definitions to go in the xml glossary file for now.

Please take your time viewing the PNGs (editable in Fireworks if you need to use/extract some of their content) and please email me with your questions and concerns.

**Only bid on the project if you are confident that you can meet its requirements.**

WordPress Plugin Customization

March 24th, 2009 No comments

This project consists of four prgramming tasks:

1. This one should be the easiest: write the query to
display a random word from a WordPress plugin called IMM-Glossary in our template’s side bar under the heading “Random Word” – The definition will need to be truncated to display the first 90 characters of the definiton with a “read more” link, which is needed so it fits nicely into our template.

2. We would like a feature added to the IMM Glossary plugin to be able to display any one term in our glossary by
simply linking to it like this: ../glossary?term=bad credit – The link should only display the “bad credit” definition on the page. (this feature is also required to complete point #1 above, so the “read more” link can point to a page with the whole definition)

3. Similar to above but a link to display words that start with a certain letter only, like this example:
http://itsvista.com/topic/glossary/?snap=A
http://itsvista.com/topic/glossary/?snap=B

4. Unrelated to above, we would like AJAX code to dynamically toggle the sub-links on a page based on 3 main links. As an example go to this site: w w w . c r e d i t m a r t.com.au and look in the right-hand corner at the “Our Best Credit Card Rates” box. We would like something similar and already have the data (which is static) and the design. So it should be straight forward.

Payment will be into escrow and released on completion.

Please ask any questions and we’re happy to show you more details/examples.

You’ll need your own WordPress installation as we can’t give out the login to ours.
