As you know twitter doesn’t allow mass follow/unfollow. It uses a lot of rate limiting scheme to avoid it.
I have one tool for this. But the problem is twitter recently banned some of my users for using this tool.
Now I just need to know how should I setup my cron or how frequently I should call friendships/create?
I need some idea so that I dont get banned.

Here is how I am working on it.

I have lots of follow request.
I fetch one customer twitter id (CTID)
Then get the random twitter ids (RTID) that should be followed. So CTID will be following 100s of RTID. Got it?
After an interval (IN) they will be unfollowed.
So I have crons, follower cron (FCN) and unfollower cron (UCN).
We have also 1 white listed IP.
how the crons work?
FCN just takes an CTID then get a list of RTIDs.
It starts to follow them one by one. So CTID-RTID[0], CTID-RTID[1], CTID-RTID[2] etc friendships are created.
Every CTID can follow 150 RTIDs. 150 is our application limit. When at most 150 CTID-RTID friendships are crated, next CTID is fetched.
Thats how we are approaching.

UCN just reads the relations CTID-RTID pairs. and destroys the frienships.

FCN and UCN runs on separate time of the day.

So when FCN runs twitter gets a lot of friendships/create request.
And when UCN runs twitter gets a lot of friendships/destroy request.

Now tell me how I’ll change this scheme so that twitter wont ban me.

Step1: user would arrive at the website, register for the site, and login we need to find a way to keep their twitter info safe ( what is the safest way to keep their password or not keep it?)

Step2: the user would see their stats and their ratio:

The site ratio is set in the admin | USERS FOLLOWED : USER FOLLOWING YOU [1.5 : 1]

the user has two options

1 – Click to Follow new Users – this would allow our script to add 15 of the site users to follow first rather then just getting ones from keyword search of twitter users)
2 – Click to have new followers – this would allow our script to add 10 user to follow them on Twitter

So the system is designed to balance out all the user so we provide followers to our site members

Need a software developed that would add followers in a pyramid. At the top will be our

Twitter Accounts. If you sign up, you will follow five people above you. Those that

follow you will follow five people above them including you. And so on.

The methodology would be the same with a few differences:

1. It would ask people for their email in addition to their Twitter Username and

Password.

2. It will ask people to check ‘I accept terms and conditions’

3. A confirmation email will be sent to the user.

4. The email would go via our Auto Responder to the user. If they confirm, then the

following system would proceed forward. If they don’t, then no account will be created

and no followers will be added.

5. Our various Twitter Accounts will be at the top and rotate. The system will pick them

from a file so we can add or delete our own accounts to the rotation at the top.

6. The user will have the option to Tweet from our page just like in the sample.

7. In addition, the user will have the option to copy the widget to their website /

blog. So we have to widgetise it.

8. The Free version will have one of our Twitter Accounts at the top.

a monthly subscription basis.

10. The system will check every day if the subscription is current or not. If payment

fails, the system will go in hold mode and start sending reminder messages daily for two

downgrade to a Free Account.

11. The emails for the paid version will still go through our email auto responder.
