I would like you or your team to bid on creating a social networking e-portfolio site for teachers.

The website should allow teachers to create an account (after paying) and maintain/update an electronic portfolio and also socialise with others on teh website.

The e-portfolio will allow Teachers to showcase themselves to
1) An Assessor(s)
2) Social friends created on e-portfolios.net &
3) A prospective employer

The Teacher should be able to decide who sees various areas of their eportfolio.

Key areas of the e-portfolio are as follows:

1) Standards Area:

This is where all the teacher standards should be presented.

(Teachers primarily need the site to evidence meeting standards.
To know more about standards and teachers read at the end of this listing.)

a) Next to each standard the teacher should be able to link a file(s) and add a comment on why they placed that file as evidence of meeting that standard.

b) Teachers should be able to choose which set of standards they are working towards. (There are five in total)

b) There should be a fuction to allow all standards along with the linked evidence + comments to be downloaded in one zip file.

2) File area:

This is where teachers will be able to store/upload files

This is to be an exact clone of CL in all functions with some additional features added as well.

When I say a CL clone…I mean that it will be indistinguishable from CL in every way unless I state otherwise.
In 100% of the functions. In 100% of the look.
Again this is 100% unless I state otherwise.

So, that said, there should be no question as to the look, posting style, page layout, dynamics, or any functionality of the site needed.

This site will however contain different subject matter and different categories from CL. We just want the functionality of CL.

I have put together most of the basic page templates for this site…so in other words the design is done. I do not need a designer just a builder.
These template pages are basically accurate for the layout, colors, buttons, links, categories, and page text.
These templates will be what you will use for the the actual look and content of the site, and I mean you will use them exactly.
Any pages I have not pre-built templates for you can simply go to CL as the model and use that template set. Simple.

In addition, we will need a great backroom admin feature with full and in depth visitor tracking, the ability to edit buttons, fields, text, and if possible background colors, and it needs to be open source so I can have any programmer work on it in the future.

I have been through this already regarding this particular website and have wasted a month with a developer who had lots of promises and ended up not being able to do this job…so let me cover a few important matters.

If you can build an exact copy of CL you will be able to build our site so there shouldnt be too many questions in order for you to know if you can do it or not.

I was told by someone I trust that this site should be built with Joomla and php/mysql applications. It was also mentioned that it would be best of you already had a CL script built and could just apply the few changes we need to the existing script.
Unless you have a good explanation as to why it should be different I am going to want to go with this trusted advice.

Do not bid on this job unless you can actually do this job.

I will not pay any money up front to an unproven developer.
I will pay a percentage when I see real evidence that you can actually do this job. And the rest of the pay will come when the job is up, tested and fully functioning.

“Real evidence” will consist of a functioning website that looks exactly like I need it to look and does exactly what I need it to do.

Evidence will not consist of pre-built classifieds models which are commonly available and emails telling me that you will be able to get it done…you just need more time.
