Php/javascript Help Needed

May 17th, 2011 Comments off

In order to help potential programmers understand what I am needing done, i will give a quick synopsis of what is taking place on my website.

We have a product that allows teams of users to go through several stages of training, and throughout those stages, they are able to create and save notes. These notes are saved to the database and are viewable by the team’s coach. Once all of the users of a team have completed the program and taken “notes”, the Team Coach goes in and views the notes for each team member for each dimension of the program. There are currently eight dimensions, and some users may do multiple dimensions, or just one, it varies.

All of this is already built, and functioning. What I need is for a PHP expert to expand on what we have done. When the Team Coach logs into his dashboard, he sees a list of teams that he is coaching. When he clicks on a team, it shows him each of the team members and there is a Yes or No on each dimension which tells the coach which members have completed dimensions. If they have completed a dimension, the Yes button is clickable, and when they click it, it opens up a table below showing the notes that the member has saved for that dimension. The Coach can view all member’s notes for all dimensions.

In the notes table, the team members notes are on the left, and the Coach’s Master Notes section is on the right. That is where we begin:

1) We need to add an arrow button next to each members note that when clicked, moves the note over to the Coach’s Master Notes section. This will allow the Coach to go through all notes for all dimensions, for all members, and save the most relevant notes to his Master Notes list. We also need to add a delete button to the right of each of the master notes in case of duplication or error, each could easily be deleted from the list.

2) Once the Coach has gone through all members, and all dimensions, he will click the existing button that says “Post to Voting Page”. This will post all of the master notes from each dimension into separate voting pages. Once this is complete, it will send an email out to all team members asking them to login and vote on each dimension. When each member logs in, they will view a large table showing each dimension, and a button allowing them to view the notes for those dimensions and assign a point value to each. Once a user completes voting for a dimension, they will go back to the previous table and the dimension that was completed should change from “No” to “Done”. Any dimension not voted on yet should have a button saying “No”, then when completed it changes to “Done”.

This is a brief overview, and I can provide the chosen programmer with page mockups, and additional information upon request.

Please post in PMB if you have additional questions.

Thanks for your bid and I look forward to working with you.

Mandelbrot Pic

This project must be done 11/19 8:00am EST
Must be done in eclipse, JAVA
If you can send me 2 variations of this problem I will give a $15-10 bonus!

The Mandelbrot set was first discovered by Pierre Fatou and Gaston Julia. Benoit Mandelbrot was among the first to use a computer to visualize the Mandelbrot set, so it was named in his honor. Perhaps the most eloquent description of the set was given by musician Jonathan Coulton, better known these days for his song “Still Alive”. In his song “Mandelbrot Set”, Coulton sings: “Pick a point called z in the complex plane, and let z1 be z2 + z, and z2 is z12 + z, and z3 is z22 + z, and so on. If the series of zs will always stay close to z and never trend away, that point is in the Mandelbrot set.” Your goal with this assignment is to essentially repeat Benoit Mandelbrot’s contribution to mathematics by writing a program to visualize the Mandelbrot set.

In case your math is a little rusty, a complex number is a number in the form a + bi, where i is the imaginary number, equal to the square root of -1, and a and b are real numbers. The number a is referred to as the real part, and bi is the imaginary part. Imaginary numbers can be plotted in a two dimensional plane in much the same way as ordered pairs are plotted in middle school algebra. The horizontal dimension of the complex plane is the real dimension (i.e. a), and the vertical dimension is the imaginary dimension (i.e. b). The magnitude of a complex number (sometimes called the modulus) is simply its distance from the origin, calculated using the Pythagorean Theorem.

Figuring out exactly which complex numbers are in the Mandelbrot set and which aren’t can get a little hairy. Some numbers are easily shown to be inside and some are easily shown to be outside, but other numbers are a little trickier to figure out, and this is where computers come in. To show that a given number is outside the Mandelbrot set, you can just calculate the series of zs and if the magnitude of any number in the sequence is bigger than 2, the number is not in the Mandelbrot set, and you can stop computing the sequence. For numbers that are in the Mandelbrot set, the sequence will go on forever without reaching a magnitude of 2, so you need to give up at some point and resign yourself to the fact that the number may be in the Mandelbrot set. The most spectacular images of the Mandelbrot set come not from plotting the numbers inside the set, but from plotting numbers that are just outside the set and assigning them colors based on how long it takes for the sequence to reach a magnitude greater than 2.

Easy Data Entry Job

September 29th, 2009 Comments off

Hi,

I have a Joomla website with virtuemart. (I’ll provide user name, password and website link to the winner).
Here what you will need to do:

1.
There’s currently 400 items in the store.
For each of them you will need to enter the dimension(you might have to estimate the dimension sometimes) and weight.
(But, to find this information you need to go on an other website, type the model number and then you will see what you have to enter).

2.
I will provide later on a list of 120 new item number.
This time you will do the same thing as step 1, but you will have to copy, description, prices, pictures, categorie, dimension and weight.

To bid on this job you must Speak English very well.
