I chose designer before that would not help me with alterations needed afterwards – I need this help for a short time and to be in close contact with designer.
Website Specifications:
The site to be built is for an online pc rehab service to help both
the individual and companies.
The goal is to help make using the computer fun, not stressful.
Many individuals stay home and just take their PC in anywhere – we can
do it remotely. If not, we’ll come GET the computer. Hell, we’ll do it
on the spot!!!
We want to teach people how to use the PC, so we not only fix, we educate.
We want to distinguish ourselves through EXCELLENT customer service -
making us unique to Dell or Compaq help centres.
We also want to distinguish ourselves from being a shop – we can get
parts, but we focus on repairs.
We want to give users OUR expertise of out-the-box thinking that shows
them online tools and services that don’t even get advertised!
That’s the stuff that blows people away – knowledge of the unique.
The designer must be unique, think “out-of-the-box”, and have 3
websites to show me this uniqueness. (IMPORTANT – I am not interested
in how many sites you have done – I want to see something that would
make ME return to the site, as opposed to seeing it as a site I would
block)
They have to show me their use of colours, and simple yet eye-grabbing sites.
The site is hosted by HostPAPA – domain name registered.
The site is to be similar in look to heelatch.com
with menu items like seen on genevapc.com
in order to accomplish a site that blows onlinepctechs.com out of the
water, which is similar in concept.
On the first site (heelatch.com), here’s what I like:
I like the blueish-to-white background, but it may be a bit darker and
the picture of a motherboard engraved into it would be great.
The clean look
I want a references section, but not a page all to itself – maybe in
the services section.
I want the from on the contact page to not be too long – should not
have to scroll too much – Genevapc.com is a perfect form.
I want unique names for menu choices.
I love the flash banner at the beginning – that’s a must. It is up to
you what the Flash banner will say.
I love the request a quote button – exactly what I want. And I love
the way the window pops out for the form, for examples of work done,
etc.
The blog page is a bit messy – if cleaned up, I’d like something
similar in concept, but cleaner.
I would also like the unique people logos they have throughout the
site – one for each section as needed.
Perhaps a place for putting my A+, Network+ and I-Net+ certification
logos would be useful, as well as other qualification
logos.(Microsoft, Cisco)
A few links needed include: one for Skype (which will forward to my
cellphone) as well as a direct line (1-800-line) will be purchased for
all users to access.
A free downloads section that we recommend – many won’t be your
run-of-the-mill downloads.
A “hidden treasures” section too – things that the average user would
not know and want to check out.
A section where I can link articles I write <or others>, video I find
useful <or others> and all my twitter, linkedin, facebook, etc
accounts.
A live chat area which will not show offline if not available – it
will forward the message in text form right away.
We want to have a section that will discuss a daily download we highly
recommend and why, along with a feedback section so users can teach US
what they like and why.
Our service section will list many things on Genevapc.com’s website -
a description of the problem and how we can help.
A rates section like on GenevaPC.com, and Products section will be
(under construction) – i will link with a local store.
It needs a few istock images which I will choose of hot women
(secretaries) getting angry at computers.
The site will also need a French and possibly Spanish mirror site, to
be translated by my friend.
Want to be shown how to maintain own site later on using the WordPress CMS.
Logo: Online PC Repair Services
Slogan: (need help with this)
Should communicate: customer satisfaction, modern yet cool, unique
Logo will be used onsite, business cards, printed waybills…
Logo should be resizaebale and readable.
Cost is what I will base my final decision on, and someone who can
work closely with me.
