Debate Site

December 11th, 2011 Comments off

Hi all,

I am looking to start a website that will be similar in function and design to http://www.debate.org, with no added or further requirements than the features already on that site.

I will ike to hear from potential workers if they have the knowledge to design a site like that, and we can discuss further from that point on.

Thanks.

Need A Proffesional Video Made For My Website.

October 11th, 2011 Comments off

Alright so my site is fanknockout.com. I’m putting in on the front page.

I have exact instructions below but before I get to those, let me know If you can make good audio. Cause if I need to record the audio let me know. Either way if I have to create the audio, then the voice needs to be changed using some software anyway to make it more professional.

I have two videos.

Video 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veF9r6roQgY

This is only used for 25 seconds in the beginning.

Video 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnE7Hfxblv0 (This video unlike video one can be redone if needed to be and you can do if you need to)

Used for the rest of the video that needs to be made.

Intro- I will send you the logo. Just make a nice 5 second intro.

part 1: the example game on video 1 should be shown for the next 25 seconds -

The audio should say – ” On Fanknockout.com, fans from across the world can debate about sports with each other through webcams in a three round competition where the player with lowest point total is eliminated each round. You may be either be one of the debaters, a moderator, a fan who judges the game, or just an observer. Either way you will be experiencing first hand the next step in the evolution of interactive sports debating.”

Part 2: Highlight the standard arena, as well as standard arena under the debate tab on the top menu.

Audio, “By clicking on a topic or simple clicking on the arena tab, you will be taken to a lobby area”

Then we show how the lobby area which I have in video 2 and show how to create a debate and join a debate. (Do not show actual debate yet)

Audio – “In the lobby area you must either join a debate or create a debate if there are no debates created already.

Then we show the status of each debate which is shown in the video.

Audio “The status of the debate is listed here for the players and moderator.”

Now show the actual debate with the empty spots and me activating the camera.

Audio – ” Once you have joined a debate you have to activate your camera and choose which spot to debate in.

Part 3: Then we go back to the front page and show the arenas

You highlight each arena-

Part 4:

We show the standard arena on the front page. Audio – “The standard arena is the most popular arena because anyone can debate in it, and points count towards your career rankings in this arena.”

Part 5:

Elite Arena – We show the part of my video that shows me entering a debate but that I can’t enter the elite arena because I don’t have enough points.

Audio – For the elite arena, you must have earned enough points to be able to debate in this it. The competition is much better in this arena, and points are worth double which will only improve your career ranking.

Part 6:

Amateur arena – We show the part of the video where I go to the amateur arena and create a private password protected game.

Audio – The amateur arena is just for fun as points do not count towards your career rankings, you may either debate with others for fun or create a private password protected game for you and your friends.

Part 7:

Then it should show the standings tab and then it should go to the page. Audio, “The more you debate and the better you do the higher you will climb the ranks as you try to be the number one ranked sports debater in the world.”

Then you show the categories highlighted.

Part 8:

After the standings page, you should show this http://www.fanknockout.com/pages/recent,

Part 9:

Audio – On fanknockout.com you can also meet sports fans from across the country

then show this profile page http://www.fanknockout.com/profile/Arih and click on each tab in the profile.

Audio – Each person has their own profile, with status and wall updates, latest articles, sports info, friends, albums, and videos (videos is in the more tab)

Part 10:

go to article section -

Audio – you can brows through articles post articles yourself and if they’re good enough they will be featured.

part 11:

Go to front page again and highlight two things- Chat room and Instant messaging

Audio – “Lastly you may talk to sports fans from across the country by instant messaging and chat room onversations.

Part 12:
Contact info shown at the end.

If you have any questions, contact us at support@fanknockout.com

If you think of anything creative let me know. I’m looking for a professional video. So yes I have a script but transitions, audio, even graphics if you want to add some are up to you to make it look good.

Debate Design Programming

January 7th, 2010 Comments off

Seek experienced interactive (dhtml, javascript, flex, etc.) programmers with good design sense. (This project is not for designers only interested in “web design” in the sense of c s s tem-plates or elements.)

Need at least two design variations focusing on the presentation of an “interactive content outline.” This should be done in an interactive client side tools e.g. Flex) that allows site visitors to expand, collapse add, and edit elements within an outline-based topical “debate” site. This project is to evaluate the right presentation, functionality and usability for the “Interactive Content Outline”.) Note, though this should be functional and database driven, the first phase is primarily to test the design for usability.

The features needed are an outline based display of a debate, which includes: Arguments, supporting Evidence, supporting Sub-arguments. Each element is in the form of an outline:

/-Pro> Main argument
|       |—Pro> sub argument 1
|       /—Pro> sup argument 2
|       |             |—Evidence A
|       —Con> sub argument 2
|
-Con> Main argument
      |—Pro> sub argument 3
      /—Pro> sub argument 4
     |              |—Evidence B
      —Con> sub argument 4

Paired Pro’s and Con’s are connected by a angled (delta shaped) branch (only displayed above in subarguments)
Supporting branches are strait lines
Branches and be collapsed or expanded

Mouse over should reveal “more” detail on each line.
Via the down-arrow, each line can be highlighted,
a corresponding menu or icon appears or is located elsewhere
[+] or [ - ] edit add

After the above is implemented, modifications to improve usability simplicity and functionality are welcome.

Debate Website Php Mysql

November 27th, 2009 Comments off

We are looking to build a new website proposing 2-sided debates, very similar to Create Debate dot com but not the exact clone of it, just inspired by some functions and some graphical stats for votes but not necessarily all of them. Only 2-sided debates and votings, no contests, no debate communities; just all tools we need to build an online community around debating and voting but with an advanced system of voting, scoring and rewarding depending of each one’s participation in proposed debates.

This project is really 100% pure PHP and Ajax coding, we will provide all graphical elements, even the smallest ones like arrows, dots, etc.

The website itself would be rather uncomplex and except the registration process, the process of creation of each new debate and process of adding new arguments and comments to each debate you have to develop only couple of unique templates like:

- main debate view,
- individual profile view for each member,
- list of debates depending of different search options,
- list of members profiles depending of different search options,
and some outputs with different stats from Google API.

You can code everything from the scratch but we would like you to use some important elements from our another website:

- the same graphical chart,
- the same CSS sheet which is our own creation,
- the same multipurpose contact forms,
- the same system of registration process and auth cookie names as in other website just to let our existing members to participate into new debates website without any additional registration.
- the same very basical internal messaging system because you have to accept if another member asks you to become your ally and also you can invite some members by mail to participate in new debates; you can see it in action on Create Debate.

Everything should be coded in PHP5 using MySQL and Ajax when necessary to move some comments up and down on the same page without refreshing, for graphical stats and meters Google Chart API should be used until you have better solution; the charset to be used should be UTF-8. Smarty templates could be also widely used until you have better solution, otherwise the use of CSS is the must as well as checking for banned words before posting and some obvious SEO requirements like url or each page title rewritings accordingly to the main subject of each debate or voting.

As this website is NOT going to be runned in English, we don’t care at all about any content redaction or descriptions but we need to use only a separate language file for all messages, registration instructions and menu or fonctions labels in view to be able to switch to any language very smoothly without reviewing each line of code later. Basically all menu labels qnd other instructions should be developed in English but only very summarly without any wasting of time on your side.

The creation of an administration panel would be a plus but finally it’s not really absolutely necessary as we manage our databases mostly from Webmin and we don’t need some unnecessary gimmicks for administration. Let’s say that if you bid, the administratiton panel will be included but only very basical and limited to the maximum of 4-5 functions like removing quickly some spam debates or ban some users from the listing.
However on the other side we will need to supply all users with basical functions to complete or edit their account and upload or change their main picture/avatar. Concerning this function we can provide our own secured system for images uploading to the server.

Your code should be produced with security in mind; anti hack, MySQL injection proof and anti doss.
On the other side we DON’T need any kind of banners, ads or advertisement systems.

After accepting your bid we will provide you an access to our webserver in view to simplify the use or reuse of all existing assets mentioned above and also to make an initial setup and test the new website in our own environment.

We are looking for serious but flexible programmers able to develop a friendly and trustworthy relation; we have never outsourced any bigger projects before but if successful we could launch some other similar projects together. We request a good level of written English for our communication as we are going to communicate rather by e-mail then by any messengers, however we can also communicate in French. We are very reactive small team and can communicate 7×7 from about 7:00 am EST to about 10:00 pm EST.

This is relatively urgent project because we would like to release everything online within about 2-3 weeks from now so before Christmas and this time frame should be respected.

We are not going to choose straight off the lowest bid, we are looking rather for very reasonably priced offer mixed with a minimum of programming experience and security oriented background. Please don’t bid if you can not deliver the final code before Christmas and if you don’t have absolutely any positive feedback on Scriptlance from other webmasters or serious portfolio.

Thanks in advance for your time, please feel free to contact us anytime with any questions or suggestions before bidding.

New Debate Website Php Mysql

We are looking to build a new website proposing 2-sided debates, little bit like Create Debate but not the exact clone of it, just inspired by some functions and some graphical stats for votes but not necessarily all of them. Only 2-sided debates and votings, no contests, no debate communities; just all tools we need to build an online community around debating and voting but with an advanced system of voting, scoring and rewarding depending of each one’s participation in proposed debates.

The graphical chart should be similar to our existing website so we will supply some exact colours and some elements like menu design or buttons, then the pure design work should be limited to the creation of the main logo and some graphical elements necessary for voting process etc.

Everything should be coded in PHP5 using MySQL and Javascript or Ajax when necessary to create some voting results, for graphical stats and meters Google Chart API could be used until you have better solution; the charset to be used should be UTF-8. Smarty templates could be also used until you have better solution, otherwise the use of CSS is the must as well as some obvious SEO requirements like url or each title rewritings accordingly to the main subject of each debate or voting.

This project should be developed first as an independent website for possible further standalone use but after completion we will ask you to setup it as an additional module of our existing website. Your task at this step will be limited to review the existing PHP/MySQL registration process and build the new process and members data storage compatible with existing members tables, I mean to let all existing members to participate in new debates without any additional registration. At this point we would like to rely rather on your PHP knowledge to organize it the most optimized and secured way with sending of registration confirmation e-mail messages etc. You will be able to include directly some parts of existing code from our website so everything has not to be created from the scratch !

We are looking for serious but flexible programmers able to develop friendly and trustworthy relation; we have never outsourced any bigger projects before but if successful we could launch some other similar projects together. We request a very good level of written English for our communication as we are going to communicate rather by e-mail then by any messengers, however we can also communicate in French.

This is not very urgent project but taking into account the fast coming Christmas period we would like to release everything online within about 2-3 weeks from now and this time frame should be respected.
We are not going to choose straight off the lowest bid, we are looking rather for reasonably priced offer mixed with a minimum of programming experience and some similar projects already performed in the past. Please don’t bid if you don’t have any positive feedback on Scriptlance from other webmasters.
