ENF is a photovoltaic (renewable energy) web portal. Over a period of 4 years we have grown to 30 staff and we are now one of the most popular photovoltaic industry websites in the world.
Our technical team consists of an IT manager and 2 PHP programmers – and the team has a very large backlog of work (hence the need for more manpower).
We need an experienced programmer to join us in China. Ideally we would like someone to stay for many years, but we can accept an initial 12-month contract for an expert who doesn’t want to be away from home for too long.
The job is to work on our industry directory website, programming in more advanced features and optimising the backend system. You can see our existing website here: http://www.enf.cn
The pay allows for a nice lifestyle in China (you’ll be getting double the salary that our local Chinese programmers are being paid), but it will be very low compared to Western salaries. However, this can be a very nice way to ride out the recession working in a completely new culture and helping to save the world at the same time (our free directory is the best in the world and helps the solar power industry be more profitable).
We are looking for someone with strong PHP programming experience/abilities, who has a professional working style (eg. doesn’t argue endlessly with the boss and who will work hard in core working time). Good English communication ability is also required.
Further details:
Core working hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Company working language is English.
Compensation: 4700RMB/month + ~10% bonus + accommodation + 15 days holiday (note for those looking up living costs – we are in Wuhu which is 2-3 times cheaper than Beijing/Shanghai)
We have a preference to hiring people that we can interview face-to-face. ENF’s CEO will be in UK most of the summer, but with additional recruiting trips around Europe. Applicants in China are of course welcome, but salary will be local, the higher rate shown above is to attract foreign staff. Applicants from regions outside of Europe will still be considered.
To apply, please send your CV to kit@enf.cn (Kit Temple, CEO)
Examples of websites you have worked on is strongly encouraged.
Note: Please do not contact us about professional services, or working for ENF part-time from your local country. We have a few projects we will be posting up on Scriptlance, but most of our core work needs someone to be sitting in the office working with the team.
