Excel Macro Search Text And Categorize

December 27th, 2011 Comments off

Develop a Macro that will look at a CSV file in Excel and do the following:
1. The user will select cells of text in a column , (ex. D2- D420)
2. The Macros will search for a key word, phrase, or series of key words in selected cells
3. If the keyword, phrase, or series of key words is found in the text selection, the Macro assigns a category (ex. “positive”) and writes that category in a new cell in the same row where the search was successful. (ex. writes “positive” in cells J2 – J420).

C++ Classroom Assignment

February 23rd, 2010 Comments off

URGENT…This is an Algorithm that needs to be implemented (Force Directed Algorithm) in C++ followed by implementing Lee’s routing Algorithm.
Part1 of the assignment involves creating a Dynamic grid with spacing one unit each and cells of dimensions 6 units width and 6 units height need to be placed in the grid based on the Force Directed Algorithm. The size of the grid used for placement will vary dynamically based on the number of cells to be placed. The minimum distance of separation between adjacent cells (The closest they can be placed) is 1 unit. Each cell has 4 terminals (two on top and two in the bottom that occupies 1 grid space each. each of the 4 terminals of a cell are connected to the other terminals of other cells that are placed (connections). The input file to the program will consist of
1. no.of cells to be placed in the grid
2. no.of connections between the cells (between the terminals of each cell)
3. followed by a list of individual connections specifying which terminal number of which cell is connected to the which other terminal of the other cell on the other end of the connection.
NOTE: it possible that some terminals may not be connected at all and may just be free, it also possible that some cells maybe free standing and may not be connected to any other cells.

Sample Input Format:
First Line: no.of cells (C)
Second Line: no.of connections/Nets (N)
Next N lines specify the Nets
(Each Net is specified in the following format- Net num , cell num, terminal num, cell num, terminal num)
eg:
3 (3 cells to be placed)
4 ( 4 connections/nets exist between them)
11113 (connection#1, cell 1, terminal#1, cell 1, terminal#3)
21431 (connection#2, cell 1, terminal#4, cell 3, terminal#1)
32332 ….
41221 ….

Part2:
Once the cells have been placed based on the Force Directed Algorithm, the cell terminals in the connection list need to be connected (wired). Wires cannot intersect. to avoid intersection, Two layers are available to connect. All cells are placed in one layer and connections are made as much possible in single layer. those wires that cannot be connected without overlapping(intersecting a previously laid connection) will be stopped before the point of intersection in that layer and continued towards its destination terminal in layer two. It is implicitly assumed that the terminals of the cells that were placed in layer 1 are also available in layer 2 directly above. So a wire that was continued in layer 2 (as it was intersecting a previously laid connection in layer 1) can stop right above the terminal of a particular cell in layer 1 to complete connection in layer 2.

Design rules:
The minimum spacing between adjacent wires/nets is 1 unit
the minimum spacing between a cell and a wire is 1 unit.

The output of the program must be of the type .mag file for viewing the placed and connected cells in Magic software. The output should give the total wire length used in overall connection process, no.of transitions of wires from layer 1 and layer 2, overall execution time and memory used in executing the program.

THE ALGORITHM WILL BE PROVIDED WITH DETAIL EXPLANATION AND SAMPLE WORKED OUT EXAMPLE TO BETTER AID THE PROGRAMMER UNDERSTAND THE OPERATION. PDFs WITH DIAGRAMATIC WORKING WILL ALSO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PROGRAMMER. THIS PROJECT IS OF URGENT NATURE AND NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY 28TH fEBRUARY 2010.

Joomla Website Template Fix

September 28th, 2009 Comments off

We are looking for a proficient joomla coder to do some minor changes to a site.

The link to the site is:
http://www.polaksinaustralia.com/index.php

You have to make the bottom of the cells line up.
For instance, the World News box should run down to the same depth as the Bulletins box next to it. This should be done for the other feature 1 and 2 boxes, Sport and Events. Also, the space after the bottom line should be consistent across the site. Some boxes like In Pictures is pushing down further and doesn’t have a nice gap.

The clock for Australia will need to be corrected so it shows the correct time. We can find the flash file and supply this for you.

The only other thing is to have all the cells have the same sized text for the titles, as the Feature 1 text is bigger than the World News title, all should be made the same size as the World News title.

Finally, the spacing of the text in the cells needs to be made the same, as on some browsers, the text in World news has a large gap between lines, and it should match the text in the Sport or Events cells.

We are aware the version of joomla may need to be upgraded, and it is possible the template may be quicker to be built from an existing template like:
http://demo.rockettheme.com/jul08/
Which has a lot of extra functionality, and a similar look to the existing.

We are posting this for a second time since the last programmer seems to have dropped off so we need to have a quick turn around on this, but you HAVE to be able to deal with joomla and coding for it.

If there are any questions, please ask them before quoting.

Please visit these sites http://www.creditloan.com/. You see the top grey background labels that has loans and debt consolidation?

I need a similar label saying the same thing but not exactly the same way this guy has it on it’s site.

I need the arrow to be red exactly as the red arrow is here as it is here http://www.ameridebtrelief.com/

Image of a happy lady-just like her use image of dollars like on www.creditloan.com/

Loan and Debt Consolidation exactly as it is on the http://www.creditloan.com/

I need the following with check marks on the left:
online request
Bad Credit? No Problems
Instant Approval.

I need pricacy and security label also. all of those on the left. just like it is on that site.

Then on the right.

Have the red arrow as it is on the right corner http://www.ameridebtrelief.com/ with the start here font.

leave a space so that I can add 3-5 links there. NO FORM!

Then apply now button should be at the buttom of those links.

what background do you think is better for that.

Now stage 2

visit this link to check out the layout of the cms http://www.interspire.com/websitepublisher/screenshots.php

that is the same thing I have here at monitorinn.com

now I need to have the exact same type of cells as it is on http://www.creditloan.com/ so that i can display ads on the sides of the website[ just like this guy has it on his site www.creditloan.com]

meaning you must know php

Simple Excel Macro

August 5th, 2009 Comments off

I need an excel macro that will check all cells in a column against all cells in another column. For example cell A1 will be checked against all cells in the B column (B1, B2, B3 etc.) and if any of the cells in column B matches A1 a text will be displayed in column C1. If not (it goes through all the cells in column B another text will be displayed in C1) and it will move on to cell A2 and so on.

Spreadsheet Merge

May 11th, 2009 Comments off

We need a custom script written, that can merge select data, from one spreadsheet to another, and overwrite specified cells. The input spreadsheet will include all of the cell changes needed, for each column, with each row representing one product. So, if product sku 567B needs the “title value” column changed to “Blue Widget”, from “Red Widget”, then the cell will be overwritten with the correct change, without overwriting other cells. Blank cells, in the input file, need to be ignored during the overwrite to the master spreadsheet. Attached are two sample files, along with a sample output file. One file is the input file for overwriting the changes, and another is the master file example needing the update. The 3rd file is a sample of what the output file should look like after the merge. The merge script needs to run within a local drive directory, after adding the two input files along with the .exe file. The two input files will be like the two sample files provided. One is the changes input file, and the other is the master spreadsheet file that needs the changes copied to. After running the script, a final output excel file, containing the merged data, will appear in the same directory.

Excel Macro

May 7th, 2009 Comments off

I need an Excel macro that can copy cells from one workbook to another based on certain criteria. Both workbooks will have columns that are the same, but one workbook may have additional columns with cells that should not be affected, moved or resorted. Additionally, the rows containing the similar cells will not always be sorted the same, so the macro must look only at cell data to determine what to copy, and never entire rows or columns. It’s a bit confusing, so I’ve tried to represent it graphically. See attached.

Online Property Illustration

April 14th, 2009 Comments off

Our client has an Excel spreadsheet (attached) containing several formulae that they use to create PDF-based Property Illustrations.

The brief is to create an online version of this system that end-users can complete themselves to generate a PDF illustration.

The system will work in a similar way to online insurance quote systems, with each page asking for specific information and saving it to a database. The final screen will be a summary of input data and an option to e-mail and/or print the illustration.

The proposed dataflow is as follows (to be read in conjunction with Excel file). NB, bullet numbers relate to screen numbers:

1. End user enter details of IFA (Financial Advisor) – name, company, e-mail, tel, etc.

2. End-user is presented with ‘Assumptions’ (Alltrust Fees – See Excel cells K47-K63). These are pre-populated but will need to be changed by the client within a back-end system from time to time.

3. End-user is presented with ‘Cash Flow Information’ (see Excel cells A47-63). These figures will be pre-populated but the end-user will be able to change them (these figures will then form calculation formulae later on).

4. End-user enters details of Member 1 (see Excel Row 11). At the bottom of this screen the end-user will be asked if they want to add another member. If yes, they are presented with a screen to enter details of Member 2 (see Excel Row 12). This will continue looping up to a maximum of 6 members.

5. End-user enters details of property (see Excel cells A19-39).

6. At this point a summary screen will display all of the information entered and allow the end-user the opportunity of going back to amend any of the previous screens.

7. On clicking submit the system will perform all of the calculations required to generate the ‘Property Illustration Study’ (See 2nd Worksheet in Excel file; ‘Output Screen 10 Years’. Options will be to view/print the illustration as a PDF or e-mail it to the end-user as an attachment. Once the report has been generated, a copy is also e-mailed to a fixed e-mail address belonging to the system operator so that they can follow up on the illustration.

The look-and-feel of the system will be to match the client’s existing web site although this system will be a standalone micro-site and not require integration with any parent site.

I need options as to which programming language and why as well as detailed cost and time projections. As a secondary option, costs will be required for developing a system that will ‘capture data only’ over several screens and e-mail the captured data to the system operator so that they can manually populate the Excel spreadsheet and e-mail the illustration to the end-user (lower cost option).

Our client is looking for projected costs for this project asap so fast responses will be gratefully received.
