Design Change- WordPress Theme

November 3rd, 2009 Comments off

I own a website with a custom WordPress theme, and I need a few small changes made to the theme.

Changes to post/page layout:

(1) Change the H1 font color from red to black

(2) Reduce the width of the content column so it’s the same width as this page:

http://www.bettafishcenter.com/Betta-Breeding.shtml

(3) Make a suggestion for a better font type and layout. I find the current font hard to read.

Changes to the sidebar:

(4) Change the email opt-in box in the sidebar so it looks like the opt-in box on this page:

http://www.bettafishcenter.com/Betta-Breeding.shtml

(I will give you the copy to put in the box)

(5) Add a “Recommended Reading” box in the sidebar, like on this page: http://www.bettafishcenter.com/Betta-Breeding.shtml

(I will provide you with the copy to put in the box)

Note: I would like you to save a copy of the code from the original sidebar, in case i want to change the sidebar back to the original in future.

Articles For Website

I require 95 articles (guides) for my website, broken out into 7 different categories. The information for these articles is available on several other sites (many which I can supply). The articles must be unique, as the specific community is relatively small and copying/plagurism would be immediately evident, however simple rewriting or rewording of the currently available information is fine as these guides are factual, not opinions.

The average article length will vary, with the minimum being 250 words. A picture is required for each article, and must be specific to the article contents – IE: a picture of species A at the top of the article for species A.

All articles/guides must have all metadata information, including description, keywords, and robots (set to index, follow) completed and specific to each article

- All articles will be need to be input directly into a Joomla based website. I have created the sections and categories already, and defined which articles need to be placed where in the site.
- All articles must be written in English, with proper spelling and grammar throughout
- I will provide publisher capability to the developer directly on the site to accomplish their task.
- Once completed all articles will be come the sole property of purchaser and are henceforth copyrighted.
- Full payment for the project will be placed in escrow prior to the project beginning.

Articles must contain appropriate information broken down into sections. Definitions of the articles, and specific sections are outlined below.

Project must be completed within 2 weeks.

Articles are needed for the following species:

Orchid Mantis – Hymenopus Coronatus
Boxer Mantis – Ephisestiasula
Gambiam Spotted Eye Flower Mantis – Pseudoharpax Virescen

Articles/guides required: (note: the number/letter in brackets (1b etc) indicates the placement within the content. So (1b) would mean that article/articles would be placed in section – breeding, category – breeding basics)

Please note article/guides are used interchangeably here, but the content items should be labeled as guides

1) breeding basics guide (1b) – overall breeding basic information that is non-species specific (how to mate, introducing male/female, habitat for ooth laying) (1 article)
- should be one article, with subsections
2) Ooth guide – basic Ooth (Oothecae or egg case) care information(1b) (1 article)
- should be one article, possibly with subsections
3) species ooth care guides(1a) (23 articles)

6) Species information article (23 articles)
- should be one article/guide for each species
7) Release list (list of species that can and cannot be released into the wild in North America, broken down by Canada/US)(3a)
- should be one article, with subsections if needed – a list with yes/no or checkmark/X would be fine

More guide/article details:

- Each guide will be labeled in this manner:
Common name Praying Mantis ooth care guide
common name Praying Mantis breeding guide
common name Praying Mantis care guide

where “common name” is the specific species common name ie: Taiwan Flower Praying Mantis Care guide, Boxer Praying Mantis breeding guide, Carolina Praying Mantis Ooth care guide, Spiny Flower Praying mantis information guide

- Each guide item must have a species specific picture in the article
- Species specific care guides should have sections on lighting, temperature, humidity, enclosure/terrarium size, water, care difficulty rating, and food (I can provide some links for details)
- Breeding guides should cover mating readiness, time taken, process, ooth laying time after mating, incubation (this would be very similiar to ooth care guide for species), and hatching (I can provide some links for details)
- Each item must identify the species by its common and scientific name at the top, with its scientific classification:

Example Scientific classification of Orchid mantis:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Mantodea
Family: Mantidae
Genus: *Hymenopus
species *Coronatus
* the genus and species are the only things that change and are provided in the list of species I want covered in this project!!
