Hi – we need cPanel Backup software created that is similar to backup-smart.com.

This software should run on your computer (in the system tray) and should be dead-simple. There is software with similar functionality at backup-smart.com; we’d like ours to be smarter. Please review this software (there is a 7 day trial) as our software will have similar functionality.

- Backup unlimited cPanel accounts
- Schedule backups
- Runs in system tray

We need a simple backup software.

The functionalities are as follows:

1. Very good intutive user interface. It should be customisable
2. Should be able to backup all the directories and sub directories
3. Option to compress, for compressing it can use 7zip
4. It should be able to restore the backed up files to the same place with the directory structures
5. Option to set the default path for the to be backed up files and default path for the target location for the back up
6. Same us above for restore

It is very urgent. Java or C++ is preferred. Any suggestion?

Online Backup Software -aws S3

Hi,

We are looking for software similar to JungleDisk… It will have less features but the key is that it will backup selected folders on a users hard drive to Amazon S3 when scheduled. It will only backup changed files.

We have visual interface. We have specs.

The logic is not difficult.
- User selects folders to backup, user selects schedule.
- Backup runs when scheduled. Checks for changed files. Compresses, Encrypts and Uploads files. Logs to local DB.
- Keeps multiple/deleted versions (user defined)
- User defines encryption password, or allows the system defines it.
- Restore tab shows files available to restore. Allows for Point-in-time recovery.
- Needs to run on Windows/Mac
- Rebranding client for resellers
- The application will live in the toolbar and/or dock when minimized
- It would be nice to have as a service so it can run when nobody is logged in
- Installation will ask for Username/Password or Serial No. and confirm/request customer information (via web services – the services are available on our end and do not need to be programmed.)

- There will be limited reports.
- The application will interact with our web services to receive any notifications from our servers (i.e. the account is overlimit, or the account is expired)

Phase II
- Web based access to files
- Drive mapping access to files

We’d like this programmed in something like Realbasic that uses a single source to create Windows/Mac runtimes, but we are flexible. Price needs to include both Windows/Mac versions though Mac can wait until Windows version is built and tested.

The timeline is now – do not bid if you are not planning on working on this for a few days or a week.

Project will be managed through Basecamp. Daily builds will be required to ensure progress.

We have worked with all the “bad luck” developers before. Don’t bid if you live in an area where internet disappears every 2 days, or cars run over developers every week or if your grandmother is very sick or if your programmers quit on you all the time – we’ve been there, done that. We will work on deadlines together and you will be expected to meet them.

It will be useful if you have worked with Amazon Web Services before. Please let me know in your bid.

If you need more information, please pmb me.

Note: This project must be fully completed on our servers before payment is made. We have had too many problems with programmers recently with incomplete work or just leaving us high and dry. We will need to have this working on our servers before releasing payment. You will be paid once the work is done, but please take note of this before bidding as it is a requirement. We are a 20 year old company and we always pay.

If you fail to meet your deadlines, we will post a 1 rating and we reserve the right to cancel the project. Please set realistic deadlines as you are expected to stick to them. If you have questions, please ask them before the project is awarded. Be aware that we are in the Eastern Time Zone (same as New York) and will expect correspondence to occur between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST – 6 or 7 days a week.
